I hired City Painters for two large jobs in the last year; first they painted my entire house, second they remodeled the floors in my basement (that job also involved some drywall work). Both jobs are stunning and worth every penny! Selvin is straight-forward and honest with his pricing and walks you through the entire job. When I asked if they were able to do something his response was "you're the boss!" Selvin's team is prompt and hard-working, showing up on time every day ready to work. I had to reschedule my flooring job with short notice for a trip out of state and they were able to squeeze me in a week earlier than originally scheduled. It was a tight schedule, only four days for the whole basement, but they were able to get the job done early! I couldn't recommend City Painters more for all of your remodeling needs! I cannot say enough good things about City Painters. They were a dream contractor. We hired them to remodel our basement, and we couldn't be happier with both the process and the end product. Good solid painting at reasonable prices. Not the best paint job I've seen, but very very good for the price. Henry was the Estimator and PM for the job and was very nice. Carlos and Manuel were 2 others on the crew that I recall the names of. All were good honest people, but be prepared to read through the contract carefully so you know what you're getting into and check with the crew to make sure the job is done to your expectations. City Painters did an outstanding job painting the outside of our historic home. Given the age of the siding, they worked with us finding the problems and allowing us to do the carpentry work while they worked on the painting, although they would have done it all if necessary. They painted the siding, trim, doors and windows and porch ceiling, all carefully and thoroughly. Their work on prepping the surfaces was very impressive and so I am fairly sure it will last as long as can be expected. Power washed the siding which had been painted before which then showed it need a re-paint, which they did well, too Also, painted the concrete block foundation. All work was excellent. City painters was trying to charge me GRAND TOTAL INCLUDED LABOR AND ALL PREP WORK MATERIALS: $7,555.00 v.s A&R coming out today only charging me.......wait for it $3,000 not including prep work material. I received 4 quotes and their quote was definitely the most reasonable (was lower than the lowest quote for the same job by more than $1,000). The team arrived on time each day, each worker (3 total) was very respectful and they all worked nonstop from 8:30am until 5pm each day. Henry was very responsive in terms of projected timeline, what paint I needed to buy and even provided ceiling paint when the store didn't have the needed brand/type. Don't walk but run to the phone and call City Painters. I just had the most wonderful experience with this crew, and I couldn't wait to write this review on Yelp. They are prompt, professional, and their work is A+! I initially contacted Henry through Yelp messenger, and he responded almost immediately. He sent Edin to come to my condo to give me a quote. I never like to spend a big chunk of money at one time (just ask my boyfriend), but Edin's professionalism (and Henry's great customer service) convinced me to go through with them. I received a formal contract within 24 hours, and I received an appointment time for the following week- talk about amazing service. One side note- Edin likes for you to call or text message instead of email, which is fine by me. About the project- Henry and City Painters did not have an easy project as they had to scrap my peeling painted ceiling (and wall) in my condo's bedroom and bathroom, but best news- they completed the project in one day! (my cat only had to live in the bathroom to stay out of their way for a day). In addition, they matched the existing wall and ceiling's color perfect and even left me a paint can for touch up. From the initial estimate to the finished product, I am thrilled with the job Selvin and his crew did for me. Selvin's estimate was quite a bit below other estimates I received for my small interior job (basically painting of home office walls - one in an accent color - and a couple of small repair jobs around my house). They are working on my neighbor's house. They spilled a large quantity of white paint on my front lawn. My lawn is covered by white paint. They also threw trash on my front lawn. When I asked them to be careful and not spill more paint on my lawn, those guys were aggressive. They yelled and screamed at me. All I said was be careful and don't spill more paint. Just because you are working on my neighbor's house, it does not mean you can treat my property like trash can. My grass is going to die. They are covered by a large amount of white paint. We had a super experience with City Painters! I bought their Angie's List special, and Henry followed up and scheduled with us immediately. We asked them to touch up the existing paint, paint the ceiling and trim and some access wall areas. We had it scheduled, but I had to change due to the tilers and floor installers, but City adjusted their schedule really easily without a fuss just so they could come in right after they were done, so only had to wait another day to enjoy our remodeled kitchen. Their work was super, especially their repairs done to the ceiling around the newly installed range hood-it was damaged, and City made it look like brand new. When they left the house, clean and ready to go, my husband paid them, and I thought I had already paid via Angie's List. Instead of waiting for me to call Angie's, Henry had Angie's List call me to tell me the payment was done correctly, and we were not over billed. City Painters addressed all potential issues before I thought of them, basically-these guys are good business people. We are having City Painters back to do some more painting, repairs, wood floor refinishing, and once we are ready, well look at some more remodel work. His team Jose and Nelson were meticulous, polite and professional, arrived EXACTLY on time each day, and cleaned up the workspace beautifully each night before leaving. They spent a LOT of time prepping the walls to ensure the best results. I had a complicated color scheme going, with lots of multiple color planes that had to be masked off to point up the architectural features of the house, and all the lines came out straight and razor-sharp. I interviewed 10 painters for my job -- cleaning our decks and painting the exterior and 75% of the interior of our townhouse -- because we've had some terrible contractor experiences in the past. City Painters (we found them on Yelp) was one of the most reasonable quotes and gave us extraordinary service. I can't think of one thing they could have done better. They arrived on time, were friendly, professional and most of all neat and hard working. I think I saw them take one break in the 2 weeks they were at our house. We have two cats and the fellows from City Painters were especially sensitive to our safety concerns about them. Wow. This is my first review on yelp. I usually do not write reviews, but City Painters were so exceptionally good, I just had to write a review. I had old wallpaper in my house which made me feel like I was living in the 1980s... I wanted to get the wallpaper removed before I moved in. But after I moved in I had a baby a week later and had no time to get it done. I had a few companies come out for an estimate. They all said it was gonna be a huuuge job and didn't even seem confident that they could do it. Other companies Said it would take a week and kept saying it would be a big/hard job which meant a lot of time and a lot of money. Then My good friend referred me to "City Painters" I called, made an appointment and met with Selvin. He said, very confidently. No problem, we can do it! He gave me a written quote via email right away! He even gave me quotes for projects I said I was thinking about but not quite ready to pull the trigger on. Took me a while to write this review, but I definitely wanted to share my great experience with City Painters last year! I hired them to paint a bright teal accent wall in my apartment. I selected the paint, and they picked it up. Edin did the painting--and he was awesome. Super nice dude, and he did a phenomenal job. My wall looked gorgeous. The pricing was also very reasonable compared to other quotes I had gotten. And then, only several months after painting my beautiful teal accent wall, I got a new job out of state and had to move! Before leaving my apartment, I needed to have the accent wall primed so the apartment maintenance folks could repaint it before a new tenant moved in. So I called City Painters up again. Edin came back out and primed the wall perfectly. He even put on an extra coat of primer just so I would feel completely confident that the teal would disappear completely under the new paint. Confirmed (in writing) my estimate appointment day/time. Set aside a block of my day just for them. Nobody showed, nobody reached out to me. When I contacted the company to ask whether anyone was on their way they said they didn't even have me on schedule. I sent a screen capture of the confirmation. Someone came out 2 hours later who told me I'd have an estimate the following Monday. By the end of the day, no estimate was received. It might be possible that they do a good job painting - if they show up - but besides not ever even getting the necessary information, I have absolutely no trust or faith in a company that treats potential customers this way.
