After finding a place to pull over and find my new sandal with a too-long strap that was waiting for a shoe repair shop, we headed back to downtown Crockett. Oh my! What a find. The wife assured me he could do it after finishing with a saddle repair customer. He had me mark the spot where I needed the thick Chaco sandal strap to turn under. While he commenced working, we looked through the pleasant, uncrowded shop. A 50th anniversary flower vase (for friends who get there before we do), an adorable little pot with a hand-painted sunflower to hold a succulent gift, and the on-the-spot strap repair cost just over $14. And, we didn't need to stop. With serendipity, i had found a clean restroom.
