So I called chappy's repair and they sharpen for five dollars if you bring your blade in. $10 if they have to remove it from your lawnmower and then sharpen it. I brought it in expecting to have to leave it Overnight but the guy there said no let me do it for you right now. So within 10 minutes he had it perfectly sharpened. For five dollars. Besides repair they also sell lawnmowers. I saw a lot of used ones there push, self propelled, and riders. Maybe they sell new ones too. I don't know. But I highly recommend this place.

Called on Friday morning, May 9th at 8:00 am and the man on the phone said he'd have to take my number and call me back. Wasn't called back by 11:00. so I called again. Lady I spoke with took my name and told me my mower was next in line to be worked on. So I asked if that meant it would be done that day. She said maybe not because they go to lunch between 12 and 1 and it would probably be done early the next week. That made no sense if I were the next in line. Does it take multiple days to address one mower repair??? Maybe they take terribly long lunches? So I called Tuesday morning, May 13th to see if the mower was done. Was told I was third in line and it would be done later that day or Wednesday. So apparently I'd dropped 2 positions in the queue. No call from them either of those days telling me it was done. Called them this morning, May 15th to see if I could pick uo my mower. Was told it wasn't done yet so I told him to pull it out and I'd just pick it up anyway. Went down to pick it up and the man at the counter went to the back room, came back and told me mine was next in line and could be done this afternoon if I'd just leave it. Told him I was told I was next in line last Friday and I took my mower. THEY DIDN'T EVEN OFFER TO HELP LOAD MY MOWER!!!! Looking through their reviews, my experience with the Sled Shed isn't that unusual.

I dropped it off October 26th and was told it would be 2-3 weeks. After 4 weeks had gone by, I called to check in. They said they needed a couple more weeks. After 6 weeks, I called again. It was "on the bench right now, " and they'd call me. 6 days later and 7 weeks from dropping it off, still nothing. I've had to initiate every communication, and can only assume now that I'm being lied to. I feel I've been patient, and civil but they seem to be getting work done for squeakier wheels ahead of me. Beginning to think I'll need to go to court to get visitation rights to my snowblower.

I believe I contacted him on a Friday evening and he was able to get my couches picked up on Monday afternoon. Two couches sustained mold damaged while being in storage for almost 2 years, so we had to part with them. We left the couches inside our fenced-in yard. Jeremey came by, picked them up and let us know when he left. He accepts several different forms of payment; we happened to use Venmo. I'd say our job was on the easier side, but it appears they handle and haul all kinds of junky situations. Highly recommend. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Bought a 1025r Deere from PK Midwest this spring, hit a stump with the mower and it sheared a u-joint. PK told me my carelessness wasn't covered under warranty. I bit the bullet and bought parts and fixed it. It happened again and city tractor had the parts, when I went in to pick up more parts they told me it's a known problem and should be under warranty. They came, picked it up fixed it within 2 days just as they said and are delivering it back to my home as I type this. Unbelievable customer service and support! Just wanted to give a shout out to the good service I receive here regularly, and especially a few…read morenights ago, and specifically this time to Emily. I live in Bettendorf, but am in Iowa City frequently as my wife and I have 3 daughters living there. Two daughters live very close to this hardware store and I was string-trimming at one of their houses, and I flung a rock into my car's driver side window and it shattered. I needed to drive the home on I80 but wanted some clear plastic on the window if possible. Emily gave me some used plastic from some inventory they had unloaded, and I bought some duct tape. As I went to the car I realized I would need scissors and told her I might be back if I can't get hold of the other daughter and her husband who live close. Daughter didn't answer so as I was about to call a different daughter and her husband Emily appeared and volunteered to help. She was very patient and had some great ideas like where we applied the tape to keep it off the paint. It was a loud ride home but I made it safely and Emily's great work held! This morning I got the window replaced and will not need to borrow or rent a car to drive to Chicago for a ballgame tomorrow. I probably could have made it home fine with no plastic, but it was nice to have, and I wasn't sure how long until I could get the window replaced nor how soon it was supposed to rain. I always say the world needs more kindness, and thank you to Emily for her great customer service from a business perspective, and for what I consider just simple kindness - another KO (Kindness Opportunity) fulfilled. In the past, we had taken a lawn mower for a new carborator, only to have them install it upside down. Later, we had them work on a snow blower, We didn't see it for a couple of weeks after it was delivered to the wrong address, although owner was sure he delivered to our house. It was several houses away, and finally the person living in that house called the police to report it, and we finally got it back. It's a small circle drive, shouldn't be that difficult to find our house where they picked it up!! (They delivered it to house #103 instead of "123" We didn't take any business to them for many many years until recently, we purchased a new Troy Bilt mower from a different store. A a couple of months after purchase, the mower threw a belt and we were told that Wade's was the only place that did their warranty work was Wades or a a city aproximately 50 miles away. We decided to give them another try.... Big MISTAKE! They were nasty on the phone and told us they were too busy and "their customers came first"! We called Troy Bilt, after which we received a message from Wade's they would come pick it up. After a week or so, they brought it back and left it in the driveway parked partially in front of our garage door, if it had been 15 minutes earlier, my daughtter would have backed into it when she backed out of the garage!! My husband was told it would be delivered in the evening, and they came around noon, not bothering to ring our doorbell to let us know it was sitting outside for us to run over!! Then they billed us almost $50 to pick up and deliver even though they are only approximately 6 miles away from our house. In short, this business is run by HIGHLY INCOMPETENT AND RUDE OWNERS!!
