As a resident in Spire San Diego, in East Village, I am writing this review to compliment two of your security guards, Jason Godoy and Key. Both are highly personable , polite and professional guards who obviously care about their job...and are very good at their jobs. Every morning I see Jason walking around Fault line Park looking for drug needles to protect the children and dogs who frequent the park. He truly cares about people. Key works evenings and he has to deal with some rowdy residents. He is excellent at de-escalation. Both Jason and Key are very kind to all the dogs and children in the building and area. As a dog owner, I don't see this kindness in most security guards in the area. I truly appreciate both of these excellent guards. read more

Recently, one of their guards took a shot at my head. I was walking my 10 pound dog in my neighborhood. Some guy storms up to me wearing a black "mercenary" uniform, no identifying words or symbols, with a plate-carrier, lots of "tactical" gear, and hip holsters. He screams in my face "What are you doing here", with his hand on his holster, as he observed me picking up my dogs poop from the sidewalk. He is screaming about private property while I stood on the sidewalk. I crossed to the other side of the street and walked away from him, toward home. I saw him pull out a gun, then I heard the bang and heard the bullet fly by my right ear and hit the dirt behind me. Called 911 and ran home. Reading the other reviews, my near-miss doesn't seem to be outside the normal operations or expectations for this company. My neighborhood was a very safe quiet place until CWPS was hired by an apartment construction company. I cant walk down that side walk anymore, I'm scared being out in my own neighborhood, now. I do not recommend using their services. read more

It's a terrible company to work for since they didn't have any Armed Security positions available. The only site that was available was Studio 15 Apartments. I tried working for a month to see how it goes but the site itself had too many problems with tenants who are unemployed and ex homeless along with transients who lived in the homeless shelter next door. Job sites that deal with homeless people should hire and place Armed Security Officers not unarmed Security Guards. read more

After reaching out during what appeared to be a threatening situation, they came to my aid instantaneously and didn't leave until the situation was resolve. Complete joke of a company. Had an altercation with a guard on my property around midnight , he almost hit me with his vehicle from behind. When I confronted him I was expecting an apology but instead he replied stating that It was my fault he almost hit me stating I should have moved over if I saw him driving. I then asked for his identification card, badge or business card. He refused stating why I needed it and that he could visit the website on the car if I had anything to say. After the 3rd time I requested him to identify himself he refused I then advised him i would be calling the police. He then got hostile and had his hand on his holster. Not knowing what weapon he had I kept a further distance as I dialed 911. As I did I put it on speaker, he then dashed into his vehicle and split the area. I called their emergency line and spoke to a dispatcher that had told me she had spoken to him. Apparently he called in to give his "side of the story" Once I told her the police were on their way she immediately provided me with details and assured me he would be placed on suspension pending an investigation. Apparently he broke protocol and needs to identify himself whenever requested. So if you see these idiots start away, it's only a matter of time before I read one of these clowns shoots someone read more

Officer 668 who is tasked with "protecting" our community had our car towed from our assigned parking spot. We are down to a single income because of pandemic lay-off and had to pay $290 to get our car out. It was a petty and cruel thing to do. Awful human-being. read more

Not quite sure whats with all the negativity on here. What I enjoy the most about this company, is, it is small enough that when I need something in relation to my security services, I can always talk directly to the Chief himself, via his personal cell line. And they treat me like a client that they really NEED, as opposed to the larger companies that know if they lose you they can always get another account tomorrow ( or what I call "Wal-Mart customer service"). They also run an Academy for Security Guards, so I know they are training their own people, which I feel like is a perk. Long story short, if you need a patrol or just a standing guard. Gotta say thank you to Tom, Scott and Robert at City Wide Protection services. These guys are awesome. Had an incident late Thursday afternoon. I reached out to them about 7 pm. Had guards patrol my property THAT NIGHT I watched them check the property at 1:00 am. I've known these guys personally, worked with them on industry events, and have been a customer also. Their guards are professional, dressed like cops and handle themselves like cops. Thank you City Wide for taking my late evening request and getting me on the list for instant attention. A security Guards job is to "observe and report". The security guards for this company "observed" people parking where they did not belong, then the security guard "reported" that fact to the tow company. Bottom line, the guard did his job, of the people who got towed don't like it, they should not park where they do not belong. I would highly recommend this company, as it is proven, even by the "negative" comments that their guards do their job. read more

This company is terrible. THEY TOW PAID CUSTOMERS from the parking lots of businesses they are supposed to be looking out for. Further, the security guard who was "on duy" was never visible because he sat in his car on his phone. Had he actually been doing his job, he could have talked to us before calling a tow truck. Instead, he was disengaged from his actual job. Further, when I asked for his name to call a supervisor, he refused to give it. When I called what was supposed to be the supervisor, I reached a reception desk/dispatch. Rather than provide possible solution or feedback, they hung up on me. I had to call back. When I called back, I was informed that there was no supervisor there tonight. HOW CAN THERE NOT BE A SUPERVISOR ON SITE TO MONITOR WHAT THEIR GUARDS ARE UP TO? This is ridiculous. We were stuck with a bill of over $300 for the tow. DO NOT HIRE THEM. THEY WILL SCARE YOUR CUSTOMERS AWAY. read more

I conducted business with them on April 8th 2019, The receptionist at the front is very nice, but she doesn't have answers to some of the most common questions. I had a bad experience with one of their staff, which in my opinion should NEVER talk to any customers. From my first interaction with her she showed the attitude of someone that has no drive to work or to help in any way, uncaring and unrestrained from insulting customers and call them names. No greeting when meeting a customer for the first time, very unprofessional. One of my key interactions with her was her asking me if I had previously tried to register myself which was a question I didn't fully understand as I had done some research all over the web prior to going to their site for their services and apparently I had. However she nearly slapped my hand off when I tried to look over paperwork she put on the table for me (as I extended my hand to try and obtain it from her), she called me a "Liar" even in front of her superiors (when I complained of her attitude). Continued rolling her eyes at my questions and statements, even continued after she was asked to go to the backroom (which is obviously where she belongs), out loud calling me a liar and blaming my complaint on me, forgetting that there was a security camera. When I spoke to her superiors about the situation, they all (,but one) seemed to shrug it off and obviously side with her. I even spoke to one of the owners who heard my complaint, shrugged his shoulders and in lame terms told me that I was butt-hurt at her attitude and asked what I wanted him to do about it. That I should be glad and happy that the purpose of me being there will be accomplished. Guess if a burger place just throws a burger at you, you should be happy not to get the greeting as they're giving you attitude and you have to wonder how they'll beat up your burger in the back. Consider that when hiring their security guards, as to the acceptable behavior towards your customers / employees. LOL, I had to answer well however your policies dictate that you handle complaints, now I am expectant that she will be ethical and fill my paperwork out correctly. All of her superiors assured me that she hasn't had a problem in the past so therefore I should assume that she will not have problems filling out my paperwork, rather than saying that they'll make sure it gets done or do it themselves. Someone that just had a crappy attitude with me will be trusted with my social security number, email address, home address, etc. I wouldn't recommend this place solely based on that experience, unless you'd like to be treated like a nobody, I'd recommend everyone to go elsewhere. I have yet to hear if the security Guard who targeted me for no reason is terminated. I did get an apology from the CEO, However, Incidences like this should have some form of consequence. The CEO said he was a good family man, but the characteristics of how he is at home, does not correlate with how he performed as a security guard, a security guards primary Job is to Observe and report any unusual occurrence on or surrounding the area of responsibility . To Racially target a tenant and prevent freedom of movement from a vehicle who was dropping a tenant off displays unprofessionalism and the intent to harass .. This security guard who patrolled the Boulevard apartments September 15th 2018 at 2:30 am needs to be terminated. Him being "New" is no excuse, according to what the CEO expressed after I wrote a review of what happened on Facebook. Furthermore, I felt that the CEO downplayed the incident and said that this was not Racially motivated, he wasn't there so how would he know? I then explained that I will go to every local news media and share what happened until I am notified that this security Guard is once and for all Terminated. This security Guard has brought Tarnish on City Wide Protection Services. Before this incident, I nor any of the other tenants never had any problems with any of the security Guards, they were courteous and friendly. This security Guard did not approach me or my friend who dropped me off as friendly at all. All the other Guards have done a great job patrolling the areas and never once targeted any of the tenants or questioning us if we were parking at a red curb at 2:30 am, C'mon now. read more

This is by FAR the WORST service/company I have ever dealt with. To start, the security called and towed my car when there were no visible signs around or near the parking spot I had parked my car. Second, the guard was right there when I got out of my car and didn't say a word to me. However, there were tow away signs for two parking spots that were specifically for a certain store. There were NO OTHER signs to be seen for the rest of the parking lot. When I came back to my car and asked the guard what happened to it, he said he towed it. I asked why and he told me I parked in a tow away zone. When I asked where there was a sign that said it was a tow away zone, he couldn't even show me where a sign was posted. He just kept saying they are posted everywhere. I stood there looking around and asked where "everywhere" meant because I still didn't see any. He still could not point any sign out to me. He said he was a new guard. That was his excuse the entire time I asked for him to explain why my car was towed when there was no visible sign saying I couldn't park in the parking spot I was in. He was rude. I ended up getting the towing number from him, and the number of his company. When I called the company to talk to a "Manager" I was lied to by the person who answer. His name was Thomas. Clearly he was not a manager, nor was he helpful. He was extremely rude to me on the phone, and laughed as I asked him to explain the situation to me and why there is an inexperienced guard with no training at the lot. He continued to laugh and be unhelpful and rude. Long story short, the guard had not had proper training, was rude, and not helpful and Thomas, the so called "manager" who sounded more like a receptionist because he could not tell me things a manager would be able to answer was EXTREMELY rude, under-qualified, and not helpful whatsoever. Also I asked the towing company if they frequently get cars to pick up from that lot, and they said they do. So it is clear that the signs that are "posted" there are either not visible, or are in a spot no one can see when they park. I am highly unsatisfied with this company. I had to pay $310 to get me car, which had been towed 10 minutes before I walked back to it. It was at the towing grounds no more then 30 minutes. I will never give business to any place around that area on Convoy St. again due to the unqualified staff they have hired working for City Wide Protection Services. I will also not trust or feel safe around any security guard or member hired by City Wide Protection Services, because they do not adequately do their job or have the proper training to do so. I was showing friends from out of town to what I thought was a good area to eat and hang out, but instead I had to deal with some of the rudest people, ESPECIALLY THOMAS! I am going to continue to find another way to contact about this company because I am extremely dissatisfied and unhappy with they way they "work". Thank you for a really lousy evening, and $310 in the drain. A real manager or higher up needs to look at the services the security guard, I believe named Cristin, and the man who answered the phone, Thomas, provide because towards me they didn't provide any service or help besides being rude as can be. read more
