UNPROFESSIONAL! ! I hired Greg Long to serve a defendant and although he was able to serve her, he completely messed up on the Proof of Service. He made so many typos to our names, case #, dates all incorrect. When he corrected everything, turns out he still got it wrong! He wrote that he served her forms FL-140 instead of Form FL-410. I understand it could have been a simple error but if he's been doing this for 26+ years, that just seems like a careless mistake. To say the least, my case was dismissed without prejudice and I had to refile again. Greg answered my call immediately and agreed to re-serve her again for free since it was his error. When speaking with Greg, he seemed experienced and eager to complete the task. He was easy to talk to, and made me feel confident that he could get the job done. He assured me that he has been doing this for a long time. HOWEVER, his organization, attention to detail, and technological skills may not be his strong suit. Long story short (pun intended), I hope I never have to serve another person again, but the bigger question is, would I hire Greg Long to do the job? Hmmmmmm. This guy needs his OWN TV SHOW!!! He's a ninja, when you are a landlord and your former tenant doesn't pay rent & trashes your rental property. You need Greg on your team. Originally, I had the sheriff try and serve but they couldn't make contact with the defendant. He kept moving & relocating. He charged $75 for serving, but charges extra to locate the guy. Prices are reasonable!!! Greg found and located the tenant on a Friday and he was served on Sunday; within 2 days. He personally called me and gave me a description which fit his exact profile. Greg answered all my phone calls and responded to my emails immediately, never had to leave a voicemail. When I emailed him, he responded within 5-10mins. Ok, here is the downfall- Greg loves to play golf. Yes, what else do you expect? being a ninja takes a toll with following, tracking and the many verbal attacks. And yes, I had to call him several times to follow up with the paperwork (it's YOUR job to follow up on the progress). Greg is a one-man team, he doesn't have an assistant and works from home; so Billings and filing the SC-104 at the courthouse he does on the side. Just call him & shoot him a friendly reminder. He's genuinely a really nice guy, who is devoted to tracking people down. He took my documents to the courthouse and hand delivered himself while he was trying to serve someone in jail. Had court this week, and WON!!! just make sure you have all your documents together and pictures speaks a thousand word. Greg is just the first important baby step before getting in front of a judge. Greg really helped me out here. I was in a desperate time and place where I HAD to serve my neighbor her papers immediately. She was moving and I didn't know this was happening. If she had moved, I wouldn't have been able to serve her the papers. I called MANY places and they were charging and arm and a leg to get out as a "rush" service but couldn't even commit to coming out immediately. Greg was able to and I understand he might have other jobs and won't be able to do this for everyone at every time, however, he was really trying to help me in this desperate situation. This guy is awesome. I had been hunting for my old landlords for over a year, kept having to extend my court date, and even had another server try to talk me out of serving them! By the time I called Greg on a Thursday afternoon recently, I had almost given up. Greg returned my call promptly, DESPITE the fact my phone acted up and wouldn't go through half a dozen times, so I'm sure it looked like a prank call. He was friendly, jovial, and determined to help me out. He asked to have the papers scanned over and let me know he'd try to look at them over the weekend, which was reasonable to me - I had plenty of time until my court date. Saturday morning, less than two days later, he had hunted down the relatives of my landlords and finally served the damn papers. He processed the papers for me lickety split, and charged me an incredibly affordable rate, because he felt bad for all I had been through. I used some of the best investigators, in the past, when I lost money on Mad Jack's Stereo (if any of you are old enough to remember). We even went through the personal trash of one of the defendants, as I needed information to challenge him in his personal bankruptcy. I have never left a bad review, but I felt I had to after the service I received from Greg. I messaged him originally asking how soon I could have someone served. He stated that as soon as he got the papers, he could serve them and gave his fee. Great, I had a deadline coming up for an important contempt trial. I sent him the documents via Google drive. He was unable to open them so I sent back a PDF copy the same day. Apparently, he didnt see the email and didnt open the file until I asked him about it a couple days later. He said he was able to open them and would serve him asap. A few days later, I checked in to make sure they were served. He said that his printer had not been working for a week and he was waiting for a printer to be installed that day and he would serve him the next morning. By now, my deadline had passed but I didnt have another server lined up. The papers were eventually served 2 days later. In all, he had the papers in his possession for 9 days before serving them. Not only did he not tell me about the printing issue, but he knew it was a problem when he initially emailed me back telling me that he could serve them as soon as he had the papers. When I went to court, the other party didn't show up. The judge told me she was ready to issue the order but saw that the date he was served was untimely. Had he been served in the first few days that Greg had the papers, there wouldnt have been an issue. Now that the case is continued, I have to re-serve him and go back to court. And for all this, I still paid $100. read more
