I went to CityMD Throgs Neck on may 26, 2026 because I had a terrible ear ache... Was treated by Dr Shahram Mekhoubad who examined my left ear and was told, "There is no infection, your ear is clear, the pain is due to your TMJ (temporomandibular joint)... I explained I've never had an ear ache before, why is it effecting my ear now after 73 years? He had no explanation... A few hours later, because of the excruciating pain, I called my personal doctor and he told me I could come right in... My doctor looked in my ear and said, it's full of wax and a black substance that looks like a Fungus... He washed out my ear which stopped the pain immediately, and sent out the large substance to be diagnosed.. The diagnosis came back a few days later Aspergillus niger fungus... First thing I will recommend before you pay the co pay!! Ask if there is a doctor working. Stay away from the PA. 100 usd for co pay and I was given prescription for over the counter meds when I explained I suffer from asthma and bronchitis. I explained if he was going to prescribe antibiotic or a z pack he told me, I didn't need that. I had to make another appointment with a pulmonologist and paid 50 co pay and he asked me why was I there 10 days later and wasn't prescribe meds. read more

I want to start by saying the nurse, doctor, and one of the receptionists were very kind and professional. They treated me with respect and compassion. However, my experience with the other receptionist, a Black woman with braids at the front desk, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. She was rude, dismissive, and lacked basic compassion for sick patients. It is honestly shocking to see someone in healthcare behave this way. She spoke to me with an attitude for no reason and acted as if simply explaining something was too much work. When I addressed her behavior calmly, she responded with "shit, I'm human too," even though I did nothing to her. It felt like she was trying to provoke me and then use her position to talk down to patients. I have been in healthcare for 13 years, and I can confidently say people with her attitude should not be working in patient-facing roles. Healthcare requires patience, empathy, and professionalism, qualities she did not show at all. What is worse is that when I looked through other reviews, multiple patients have complained about the same receptionist. That tells me this is not a one-time situation. She behaves like this because she keeps getting away with it. CityMD needs to take this seriously. Send someone undercover, retrain her, or consider if she should really be representing your facility. Patients deserve better when they come in sick, scared, and needing help. read more

Excellent service and quality of care. The doctor said he's call me in two days to see how I was doing, and he did! My own doctor of 20+ years doesn't show as much interest or concern. PS My friend used this service a year ago and also received outstanding care. I really don't understand the negative reviews. read more

Quite honestly, I've come here for over 5 years now and all is good. Sometimes I had the problem of always registering myself to them with that silly computer. But now with the phone app I can do it much faster. The staff is ok but I guess that's what you get with young people. You wonder if they even want to work? Love when the doctors ask questions to comfort you and I would ask them to check my blood pressure again to check if I'm alive. Finally, their copies of record through email is excellent. I also would like to add that I got there close to 7:20 and the provider Levine was rushing because they were getting ready to leave. I don't understand as to why be a doctor if you do not want to do your job and care for patients. I was so uncomfortable speaking with this provider and I have been going here for years and never came across something like this. Zero stars once again from me. They need to do better. read more

if I could give this place no stars I would. I walked in here with my daughter not feeling well and the provider but the name Levine was very rude. She didn't examine me, when I spoke to tell her my symptom she talked over me and cut me off as if what I was feeling was a lie. She spoke to me as if I was a child and I was with my daughter who is 16 and she even felt the lady was being rude. The service was horrible at this place and hope I don't come across this woman again. read more

They put you in a room and forget about you, I opened to door to see what's taking so long and the receptionist came to close the door and tell me i will be seen soon. Apparently the listed hours are just a loose guideline. Twice in a week I went there after work trying to get a rapid Covid test. Closing is listed as 7pm. Once I arrived at 6 pm and once at 545. Both times the doors were locked and a security guard said that they weren't taking any more patients. This would be understandable if there was a packed waiting room. But there were no patients inside. Zero. He suggested "Just go to the one in Riverdale". At 6 pm. On a Friday. Which is probably an hour in traffic. This place is a joke. read more

Considering the fact that if you don't have insurance, the visit will cost you $250 dollars, anyone would expect the service to be great. Well unfortunately that isn't the case, at least in this CITYMD. How does a medical facility/medical professionals prescribe a medicine that is back ordered in every single pharmacy within a 10 mile radius? No one is to blame for the supply and demand issues that perhaps every industry is going through at the time, however, isn't it fair for a patient to expect their medical staff to know better? Or have a contingency plan? Instead of when asking for such getting an answer of "Tylenol should work just as well." It's sad to know that this is the type of service to expect in this neighborhood. read more

Terrible service. Called this location to make sure I was still able to be seen. They close at 8pm and it was 6:15 when I called and the woman advised me they stopped seeing patients at 7pm. Made it there in less then 10 minutes and was told by rude security guard that they were not seeing anymore patients. Asked to speak to someone three times just to be met with someone who looked like she couldn't care less that I couldn't receive help. Also their website says they close at 8pm but I drove by around 7:45 that same evening just to see they were closed. Seems they stopped taking patients for the sake of leaving early. This location is new but just so behind on how a medical office should run. The wait times for results is ridiculous, you can die before you get the result and when I tried to call and speak to staff it was impossible to get someone who genuinely wanted to help me. Nobody wants to do there jobs. Everybody just said we'll call you back we'll reach out to you but never did. I would never go back here. I've been to Citi md in Yonkers and never had this issue. read more

If you wanna wait all day in an office where the workers drag their feet to complete simple task, then head on over to this city md. I came in the afternoon when it shouldn't be congested, and it wasn't. However it took an hour and half to be called into exam room to wait an additional 30 mins to be finally seen. I could understand if they were understaffed and there was a packed waiting room but that wasn't the case. I do not recommend coming to this location if your time is precious. read more
