Keep in mind my insurance paid everything except the $31.65 On the morning of 11/28/2025, I went to CitiMD for treatment for a urinary tract infection (UTI). I was seen by a physician who collected a urine sample, confirmed that I had a UTI, and prescribed medication. I had the prescription filled immediately and paid $48.50; I do not have prescription drug coverage. I took one pill when I got home and another around 11:00 p.m. I continued the same regimen on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning, for a total of seven doses. On Monday, 12/1, I received a call from the Customer After Care Center in the Philippines informing me that I had been prescribed the wrong medication. I was told that I would need to return to CitiMD for treatment. I explained that this would require another co-pay and another $48.50. I asked whether she could call my pharmacist with the correct prescription, but she said she could not. I asked her to refund me my original co-pay & the cost of the prescription. She laughed. I did not laugh. She insisted I contact CitiMD. I am deeply concerned that I took seven doses of the wrong medication before being notified of the error. I am also concerned that it took three and a half days to inform me that the prescription was incorrect. Given the seriousness of this situation, I believe the prescribing doctor should be held accountable. I suspect malpractice. When I contacted CitiMD, I was met with nothing but rudeness. Their priority was protecting the doctor -- a full-on cover your ass operation rather than addressing my concerns. The customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. I was hung up on three separate times and left on hold for two hours. They refused to let me speak with the attending physician on duty that day. Instead, they continued to point me to the Philippines Customer After Care Center, even after I explained that the Philippines wanted nothing to do with me. Since I could not get a call back, I decided to see my PCP to receive proper medical care. He was alarmed by what I had experienced. Given the circumstances outlined above, it is reasonable that I will not be paying the $31.65. I contacted Social Security, explaining that garnishing $31.65 from my check would only escalate the situation further.

Before arriving, I called with a few questions and the secretary who answered the phone was extremely patient and helpful. When I arrived, she continued to be exceptional. She helped me scan the barcode to register, asked for my information, and even allowed me to email the documents to her. Her energy was very welcoming and professional, and I really appreciated how kind she was. After that, she brought me into the exam room. The medical assistant who helped me was wonderful as well. She was kind, patient, and answered all of my questions. She made me feel very comfortable throughout the visit. The doctor was also great. Although our conversation was brief, he was warm, attentive, and made sure to answer any questions I had. Overall, the entire experience was excellent. The wait time was very short, the staff was professional and caring, and I truly appreciated the level of service I received. My doctor looked in my ear and said, it's full of wax and a black substance that looks like a Fungus... He washed out my ear which stopped the pain immediately, and sent out the large substance to be diagnosed.. The diagnosis came back a few days later Aspergillus niger fungus... However, my experience with the other receptionist, a Black woman with braids at the front desk, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. She was rude, dismissive, and lacked basic compassion for sick patients. It is honestly shocking to see someone in healthcare behave this way. She spoke to me with an attitude for no reason and acted as if simply explaining something was too much work. When I addressed her behavior calmly, she responded with "shit, I'm human too," even though I did nothing to her. It felt like she was trying to provoke me and then use her position to talk down to patients. I have been in healthcare for 13 years, and I can confidently say people with her attitude should not be working in patient-facing roles. Healthcare requires patience, empathy, and professionalism, qualities she did not show at all. What is worse is that when I looked through other reviews, multiple patients have complained about the same receptionist. That tells me this is not a one-time situation. She behaves like this because she keeps getting away with it. CityMD needs to take this seriously. Send someone undercover, retrain her, or consider if she should really be representing your facility. Patients deserve better when they come in sick, scared, and needing help.
