My experienced here wasn't the best or the worst either. It was meh ok! I saw Dr. Caine a very pleasant man with good bedside manners, since my regular doctor was completely booked for the day & my primary care no longer works there, but no one failed to notify me. Go figure! (Dr. Elliot) My visit was very efficient. I was in agony with abdominal pain, the receptionists were very professional and the triage nurse gave me a room as soon as I walked in. Dr. Caine made me feel at ease, he listened to me tentatively and provided me with his diagnosed. He preformed a couple of exams, plenty of tests, prescribed me 3 different types of medicines and send me off. It was a team effort all around! Plenty of physicians in this building that specialized in a number of fields that suit your needs. For example, urgent care, peds, internal Med, dentist, urology, woman Hlth, etc.... The Lab, X-ray and pharmacy dept are on premise which makes the visit even better. And there's an app where you can get all of your test results, medications, set up appointments and send message to your physicians. Very impressive huh?! Be healthy and be happy!

    The calm before the storm.

Unfortunately less than a month, my mother got MRSA. She had to be hospitalized and in the hospital she recovered. The only thing this facility got going for them is that they have excellent wound care and the respiratory therapist are good. The nurse practitioner was amazing. Unfortunately my mom was in a room with three other patients and I believe somehow, someone didn't clean their hands properly and that's how she acquired mrsa. This facility is so dated. I felt like I was in one of those movies from the 1940's. It was so dated that most of the machinery took up so much space in the rooms. I refused to bring my mom back because she acquired this terrible bacteria. Joselin was their representative and she was not so helpful with anything. The nurse in the front I believe his name was Harry was a diamond in the ruff. Thank you for doing everything you could for my mom. But unfortunately, I could not recommend this facility.

Where do I start. My grandmother was a resident at splitrock for post stroke rehabilitation; she…read morehas a tracheostomy and feeding tube and this facility was one of the few that accepted patients with her condition. There are a few good staff but not enough. The social workers Bianca Berkemeryer was by far the worse, unapproachable, incompetent, always MIA either at lunch of at "meetings" and neglected to follow-up on residence concerns. My grandmother was neglected and mistreated which resulted in a Stage IV pressure ulcer and a new stage II ulcer that was never reported to my family. I do not believe the staff was aware she developed a second pressure ulcer on her back. It was discovered when we took her to the emergency room for escalation of care and proper management of an advanced ulcer which is associated with major health risk and death. My grandmother suffered at the hands of certain providers who neglected to provide the care that she needed. While they might have the perfect plan on paper, it was poorly executed. We visited everyday around the clock from 8:30a-8pm. We left there every night worry about her well being and concerned she would die prematurely from failure to provide basic needs. I worry about the current residence who do not have a proper support system. We lost complete confidence in the team and believe their system is designed to set patients up for failure. We were truly hoping to provide positive feedback. After she was discharged from the ER, she was admitted to another facility and immediately we noticed a difference. The communication has been seamless, a care plan was established on Day 1 and she received medical equipment that actually work. At splitrock for weeks she laid on an air mattress for to alleviate pressure for the ulcer however never worked and was broken and was connected to an oxygen tank that needed servicing... My grandmother was in a room with three other patients who we disruptive, we asked for another room but they only responded when the staff realized we were transferring her to the emergency room. We are immensely disappointed and an apology is not enough to makeup for the suffering she endured.

I went to the ER last night because of intense back & abdominal pain. I was concerned about having…read morea possible kidney infection given the location of the pain. I spent a total of 3 hours at the ER, which is not bad. I've had to wait double or triple that amount of time in other ERs. However, there were some things that I didn't like during my visit and I figured I'd share them so those of you reading reviews can know what to expect. 1. When you go in, you see a greeter who verifies your info and has you electronically sign paperwork that you are never shown. I am a former patient so I didn't make a big deal but if I was someone who was going to Montefiore for the first time, I would want to know what I am signing. 2. I had to see 2 triage nurses and the set up is strange. There is an initial triage area that is just a desk next to the greeters. Your vitals are taken and you discuss the reason for your visit...in an open area within the waiting area/room where people can hear what you're saying. As a health practitioner, I know that this lack of privacy is a violation of HIPAA standards. After you see that first nurse in the waiting area, you have to be called by another nurse into the Main Triage who asks you the same information and takes your medical history. I don't understand why there was a need to split the triage the way that they did. Seems to waste time, in my opinion. 3. The first triage nurse asked me to provide a urine sample and give it to the following technician. I probably held onto that sample for almost an hour. The second triage nurse didn't take it and when I was brought into what I'm assuming is the fast track area, I had to wait for a nurse to collect it. That didn't happen till after I saw the physician. Throughout my time there, I was asked to provide a urine sample 3x by 3 different nurses, in which I had to remind them that I had already given the sample in for testing. That shows me that there is a serious lack of communication. I waited about an hour for the results of my bloodwork and urine analysis, which I expected. 4. A nurse approached me to tell me that she was going to give me a painkiller via injection. I had to ask her what she was giving me. I've encountered this at other ERs as well. You should always inform your patient as to what specific medication you're giving them. I shouldn't have to ask you. Huge pet peeve of mine. I don't recall being asked about allergies to medication either. 5. Thankfully, my results didn't provide any indication of a kidney infection but I'm still in pain. The physician told me to come back if the pain doesn't resolve or gets worse in a few days. I'm disappointed that he didn't order an ultrasound for my abdominal region. I didn't press the issue (I should have) because I just wanted to get out of there after hearing patients screaming in pain (and being ignored) in the ER for an hour. Despite my list of dislikes, I did have a better experience compared to other ERs (e.g. Jacobi). Everyone I interacted with was polite and pleasant. Just know your rights as a patient and advocate for yourself if you need to.

Highly dissatisfied with this hospital, if I could give zero stars I would. When my grandmother was…read morealive she praised this hospital on how good they were so when I found out I was pregnant I didn't think twice. The worst experience any pregnant woman can ever have. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE BIRTH HERE! For my 37 week scan I was told my daughter was breeched. The sonography said i can leave instead of scheduling me to speak to the OB/GYN. When I went to see my regular dr she was upset about that as the doctor onsite should have given me options. Fast forward a week and my water breaks, I call the hospital because I know my daughters breeched and they said to go immediately as it's an emergency. I arrive and I'm placed in a small room. The resident tells me I need a c-section. There were no other options given to me at all. Once in the operating room as a first timer all the people in there made me feel so small as if I didn't matter. No interaction it felt more like a transaction. I asked for delayed cord clamping which I'm pretty sure didn't happen. My daughter wasn't placed on my chest until after we left the surgery room. Once given my own room the experience just became worse. I was given 1 bag of diapers and 1 pack of wipes. Obviously this wouldn't have been enough for my stay. I asked for more wipes and was told to wet the gauze. When I asked for more diapers I was given 3, I kid you not, I was happy to be discharged that day. When asking for milk as I was barely lactating I was given 2-3 little milks. The nurses were not friendly. There was only 1 that was a little more attentive to my needs but barely. When I was allowed to leave after 2 days I was told to take my child to the pediatrician the next day for blood work as she had jaundice and had phototherapy at the hospital which was another issue. I went to my pediatrician who said they don't do that kind of blood work and that they have told the hospital that many times. So I end up having to go back to the hospital the following day, mind you I had major surgery (c-section). They did the blood work but first checked the records for the doctor because they needed a request form which I didn't have. That doctor said he wasn't my doctor. I'm not making this sh*t up, I wish I was. The worst experience ever! Oh back to the phototherapy the baby needed, my daughter would cry because she was hungry or for diaper change. I would take her out, at one point the nurse scolded me for doing so. I had to tell her I'm not gonna let my daughter cry just because they said so, she needs to eat. Please think twice before going to this hospital. I want nothing to do with them. Never ever!
