I went to urgent Care yesterday. It was full given everybody is sick now. front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. The nurse was very understanding and made me feel comfortable because I have been coughing and was feeling uncomfortable with my persistent cough. Dr. Subramanya was very thorough and explained everything I wanted to know. Came in for X-Rays and I had to wait an hour to be seen despite having an appt- but they were completed within 10mins and the tech was nice. This was my first & last time at this clinic .The worker at the window for radiology , Elisa Hernandez was rude to the patients, myself included. She was laughing & joking with the workers telling us to wait . She wasn't discussing work , the intercom was on so we heard everything! Another woman came along , Evelyn , saying how she lost her glasses on Friday & she can't see ! She even said she did an xray on a patients ankle instead of the correct body part .She said I couldn't read the paper ! This is absurd on behalf of both of them . Elisa is just rude and doesn't have any people skills , as one of the patients told her . This is very unprofessional! If you can't read the patients referral, you should be at the eye dr. getting a new pair of glasses ! Elisa dosent need to be nasty sitting at the window .People are there because they are sick, staff needs to have better training or maybe that's not the job for them .Unacceptable & unprofessional ! I sent over my school forms over 2 weeks ago at the last minute they decide to call me and tell me I need additional testing in order for them to fill out the the school forms, never mind the fact that I've been trying to call them leaving messages about the same school forms with no response from this office ok! Now I'm starting my classes on Monday I can't not attend the mandatory orientation because I don't not have the forms the doctor refused to fill them out due to this additional testing I needed. Montefiore use to be a very prestigious hospital with excellent doctors and excellent care, but over the years their lack of customer service has declined tremendously. read more

If you are truly concerned about your health, this is a facility that you may want to avoid at all costs. The lack of care and concern will certainly not aid in your wellness. The areas are usually overcrowded, and it appears this is as a result of the shortage in medical providers. what is so disheartening, is that no matter the quality of the treatment that is rendered this organization is paid by our insurance. My rallying cry to those providers of this facility, who took the Hippocratic oath, is to really consider what it means, and determine why you chose this profession. To the other staff - physician assistants, clerical and any other, do remember that you or your loved ones can fall ill at any time, therefore, be very mindful of how you treat patients who cross your paths. Specifically Dr. Deborah R Cohen (HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND) She'll give you a "hypothesis" on what she thinks you have instead of actually running the test to do so. My experienced here wasn't the best or the worst either. It was meh ok! I saw Dr. Caine a very pleasant man with good bedside manners, since my regular doctor was completely booked for the day & my primary care no longer works there, but no one failed to notify me. Go figure! (Dr. Elliot) My visit was very efficient. I was in agony with abdominal pain, the receptionists were very professional and the triage nurse gave me a room as soon as I walked in. Dr. Caine made me feel at ease, he listened to me tentatively and provided me with his diagnosed. He preformed a couple of exams, plenty of tests, prescribed me 3 different types of medicines and send me off. It was a team effort all around! Plenty of physicians in this building that specialized in a number of fields that suit your needs. For example, urgent care, peds, internal Med, dentist, urology, woman Hlth, etc.... The Lab, X-ray and pharmacy dept are on premise which makes the visit even better. And there's an app where you can get all of your test results, medications, set up appointments and send message to your physicians. Very impressive huh?! Be healthy and be happy! read more

There's usually a wait. At least 30 minutes, even if you have an appointment and if you don't, you can wait up to three hours for a walk in, same day appointment. Sounds horrible but think of the alternative; you can go to the ER and wait anywhere from four to eight hours or more, just to be seen by a doctor. I'll take my chances with Monte. If you need a walk in, same day appointment because you're not feeling well and may need meds and your illness isn't bad enough to have to schlep to the emergency room, it's best to call first thing in the morning. Sometimes you're lucky and you get the office but other times, you're forced to give you information to a different reception department that works separately from the office, scheduling patients and attempting to be a liaison between the office and the patient. A lot of the times, they fall short of their job so be sure to call again, after about a half hour or so and confirm that the office received your request for a same day appointment or you will run the risk of being scheduled later in the day. When forced to come in for a walk in, it's best to have an appointment on before noon rather than later. The staff could help to be a little bit more professional but they have a good rapport with the regulars. I work in the healthcare field and I just feel that when on the job, you should be professional every moment you are in the presence of your consumer. read more

I am a patient of Montefiore at other locations and I recommend Montefiore Medical Center to any and everyone best care for multiple reasons. But Montefiore Urgent Care at this address isn't worth going to at all. Dr Greenburgh did the basic exam, breathing, look in the ears and nose. Then when I spoke to him it was mumbling all the time repeating the information the chart is already saying. I could have got the same treatment or better if I went to my own doctor. Montefiore Urgent Care here is like they went through the whole day as a internal medicine office but when you come in at 2pm for Urgent Care treatment they barely want to help you because they are all tired so they want to speed up and leave. I think your better off going to your own doctor or have Urgent Care open up the same time as a normal doctor. read more

As far as clinics goes this is one of the best. When my doctor was transferred here he brought most of his patients he had as well. Although this place is quite busy it is also efficient. There will be days when you're not feeling well and you may be upset but the people here are quite nice and they understand. You just have to have patience. I just had a telehealth visit which was necessary since my last physical visit was in 2017, well before the COVID-19 crisis. It was well worth it since I was able to renew a few prescriptions. The video connection failed and I ended up seeing myself for most of the call and then a call from my physician, came through, while I was speaking to her. However I'm confident the kinks will be worked out. The following day I received a follow-up call from my doctor's office asking if I needed any further assistance. Montefiore has provided me with one of the best medical service I've received in the Bronx by far, on par with City MD and Mount Sinai in Manhattan. read more

Montefiore got too big and they have lost touch with being human. Give them a one cause I cannot rate them a 0... First my doctor of ten years leaves and I don't get any notice. I call in July to make an appointment and am told. My last appointment was around February. Shocker!! Anyways... I schedule to have a PPD done. I'm told I can see the nurse and I don't need to make a doctors appointment. Ok... I've never done this before but okay. So I make an appointment to see the nurse. Get to the office half hour early and I'm not scheduled. Smh. Nurse has to get in contact with the doctor (whose doctor??? As I don't have one!!) to get authorization to complete. Huh?? How can they give authorization?? Anyway... I go with it.. 1 1/2 hours later I am finally given the PPD. Go to administration to file a complaint and all are a lunch. I decide August 1st on a new doctor and get all the appropriate information. I submit on August 7th a request for me and my sons medical record to be sent to the new doctor. So I make an appointment with the new doctor in September and they still don't have the medical record. I go to the 2300 Westchester Office and they look up and confirm they have the request. State it was sent to the East 210th Street office. Yes I'm upset and angry again as I don't care who it was sent to as it was NOT sent to who I requested. I'm told that if I drive to the 210 office it would be ready for me.. Just ask for Francis when I arrive. So I'm here... An hour later as parking is horrible here!! Get to the 210 office and ask for Francis. And guess what...... Wait for it....... I'm told Francis works in the Tarrytown office. Smfh!! I'm done with Montefiore. read more

I came with my own mask and they require you to use one of there own mask which they provided you with, however When I took the elevator I notice Two patient who did not have the mask on top of there mask. First time st this location, office is crowded with people waiting to be called.... Hopefully I can get out in a timely fashion.... My appointment time is 9:00 AM and I arrived 15 minutes earlier. Place is clean but needs a TV.. They have one however it loops medical information over snd over, very boring after awhile. Absolutely the worst! I came in for lab services at 6pm. One guy was finishing up. There is only one technician on staff. They laugh and joke around for 10 minutes before calling the next person. I'm supposed to be the next person. Two more people arrived AFTER me however I was the last person seen. How does that work?? It's now 6:25pm and I'm still waiting to be seen. HORRIBLE!! Do not come here is there is another location to get your lab work done. My OBGYN and PCP is at this location as well. They're great but because of poor communication, inefficiency, and unprofessionalism; I am switching to another location. The one on Bainbridge is much nicer. Fair treatment and cleaner too. If you have 5+ hours of free time in your schedule, this is the place to be. They take FOREVER. To see the doctor with an appointment, you must wait at least 2 hours minimum. THEN to get the blood work done you have to wait another 2 hours. It is seriously ridiculous. read more

DON'T COME HERE! The people at the front were fine and the nurse who took care of me was kind. That is the only reason for two stars. The doctor was extremely rude. I came in because I had a fever and sore throat which I thought was strep throat. When he came in, he RUDELY told my sister that it's a cold and that there was no point of bringing me in. He continued to argue with my sister asking her if she was my guardian. My sister and I are not doctors. Don't tell us that there was no reason for me to be go there. I visited this urgent care facility around November. While the front desk had some issues checking me in, not certain why, the waiting was minimal and I was in and out within the hour. Granted it was a Sunday so it was not busy but did have people in the waiting area. A female dr. Examined me and suggested a treatment I never had before for the same issue I've had in the past. The infection cleared up within 2-3 days. I was pleased with the treatment and the short amount of time spent at the facility. Beats visiting and waiting at an emergency room anytime. I was seeing Dr.Gela and she seemed okay even though all of the sessions were rushed in my opinion less than five minutes. However what caused me to transfer was her recommending that i kill my fetus because he had a marker for Down syndrome. She came in sat down and said he has a marker for Down syndrome and to abort you need to do it before 24 weeks. That was so rude how dare you recommend i kill my child i left her office in tears and never went back again and turns out my baby is fine the marker was very low and further testing proved he was giShe lacks empathy and need more training on ethics. Last March, I had a terrible incident here. I had called out from work and rushed my daughter to this pediatric hospital because she wasn't feeling well. There was a long wait time (nothing new), her doctor ordered a blood test. My daughter has an extreme fear of needles, so naturally I was concerned with who was going to be drawing her blood. One nurse came in, she seemed confused, there was supposed to be someone assisting her. We waited some more and a male nurse came in to assist her. I was told to hold onto her arm. They did not stabilize my daughter's arm on an armrest, (but assured me that it was okay), instead they had me hold onto her arm, along with the male nurse. Since her arm wasn't stabilized she was able to move, they pricked her arm and blood was everywhere. My daughter was crying hysterically and they failed to get a blood sample. I have never experienced this before. The nurses here seem very inexperienced. The worse part of it all is that, I did not receive an apology from the male doctor; instead he blamed me for not holding her arm tight enough. Which blew my mind. I called the hospital the next day and spoke to the supervisor, she seconded my concern, they were indeed supposed to have her arm stabilized on an arm rest, not to be held in the air. I asked for the male nurses name for this review, but she denied me that request. Now my daughter fears needles even more and is traumatized from the incident. The nurses and staff here are incredibly unprofessional! If I could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. read more
