They were incompetent dealing with the cremation of our pet. The girl checking us out did not explain anything about the cremation choices and what they mean. She just told us prices. Even the paper we signed did not say what we would get if we chose private creamation or communal. We did not get back any ashes at all! We chose communal with an engraved nameplate but what we got was a cheap plaster paw print. We thought we would get ashes back with a nameplate. No ashes at all. We are beyond devasted. The office assistant tried to blame us for checking the box that said communal and blame is for not understanding what that meant. read more

We have been taking our dogs for grooming to Jessica for around 18 years, so we followed her from North Dallas to CityVet when she started working there. The office is fresh and clean, plus I really like how the grooming space is set up where you can see in and how the dogs are kept in kennels in the same room she is. We started bringing our 2 dogs and cat to City Vet since 2018 and have been very happy with the care from Drs Tucker and Eckels as well as the rest of the staff. Recently we had to put down our elderly cat Pearl and everyone was very kind, compassionate and patient with my many questions. Earlier this week we brought my elderly dog Truman in without an appointment. He'd been panting and acting lethargic. Tragically he passed while there but I was so grateful for the care he received from the facility down through the years. It was a comfort to know that they did all they could for him and he wasn't alone when he passed. Again the staff was extremely compassionate and both doctors spent quite a bit of time with me providing information and comfort. Excellent experience with this CityVet location. I scheduled an appointment after moving to TX from out of state to follow up on some of my dog's care. I filled out the online form to request an appointment and was called within moments of doing so. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment and was also given a fee-estimate which I really appreciated. I even rescheduled my appointment with no problem. Upon arrival at my appointment, I was seen quickly and had very nice interactions with some of the support staff. The facilities were clean and modern. The vet tech was kind and gentle with my dog. We were seen promptly by the vet (Dr. Tucker) who took plenty of time to talk to us about concerns. It was here that I was most pleased; at my previous vet in Seattle, we were told that our 3 y/o dog needed a dental cleaning ASAP (quoted at ~$800). Dr. Tucker explained that our dog's condition was extremely normal and mild, and that he preferred not to put dogs under anesthesia if not necessary. I REALLY appreciated the honesty & the fact that the vet was concerned first and foremost for my dog's well-being. Dr. Tucker also talked with us through some options for our dog's extreme allergies, and we settled on a care plan & follow-up plan. Dr. Tucker rules. Nonetheless, we were given the option to schedule a dental cleaning (if we wanted) as well as a quote. The quote was a heaping $500 less than quotes from two other places....just wow. We decided to wait on the cleaning per the vet's advice, but they most certainly have all of our future business! We love it here! read more

My cat had a benign fluid filled cyst above his eye that needed an excision. Two vet appointments prior were not able to confidently remove the lesion. CityVet not only helped my cat be rid of the cyst, but they left zero scaring! The best part is that my cat felt comfortable with the staff more than anywhere else. They remembered him each time and treated them like their own. I feel so at ease if I ever were to leave my cat there for any reason. I also found his new favorite soft food while there. We have a houseful of pets - 2 dogs, 2 cats and the occasional grand-furbaby. They're my best kids (and I have five of the two-leg variety!). I think of a vet much like a pediatrician, and put the same thought into the selection process. We are in the Carrollton/ West Plano area and there is no shortage of critter care in this neck of the woods. What I found over the last 35 years is that some clinics start out great, but then things change: somebody whom you really like at the front desk leaves; the prices inch up higher and higher; the wait times get longer and the hours of operation get shorter. In our case, the vet sold out to a conglomerate and all of those things changed. In the interim, we tried three or four replacements, and just hadn't found the care and service I felt was important. I also think it can be tough to take recommendations from friends, because their feelings are hurt if you end up not going to their place or you do and don't like it. So I started poking around on Yelp for ideas. I noticed a new place called CityVet at Park and Preston that was reasonably close to where we live. I was impressed with the reviews, enough to pique my interest. At first I had some trepidation about it being a part of a chain, but I researched the company and was also impressed by what I learned. We've been taking our dogs and cats to Dr. Tucker now for about six months, and it was a great decision. He is extremely personable, very knowledgeable, and is never put off or irritated by working through long-standing problems - with a 17-year-old dachshund, a 10-year-old Chihuahua, 9 month old Russian Toy terrier and two elderly cat rescues, that's just life these days. His front desk is terrific, very caring and prompt in both passing along messages to the doctor and returning our calls. Their prices are also excellent. If you have more than one pet, that's not a small thing. Parking is not the greatest, but if you go on slightly off hours or early in the morning it's perfectly fine. I just got back from an appointment on Saturday, and had no trouble parking in front. If you're looking for a new vet, and want someone you can really trust, I highly recommend City Preston Park. read more

I took my two dogs today for the first time and was very pleased with the entire experience. The staff and Vet were nice, professional, not pushy when it comes to recommendations especially regarding my geriatric dog, I.e.
