Turned out one of my garments hadn't met their standards, so they'd sent it back for further cleaning -- which I appreciated. When I picked everything up after my trip, there was a $50 gift certificate waiting for me. Was I frustrated in the moment? Sure. But the response was fast, personal, and genuinely above and beyond. Also, when I dropped it off, the sign said "anything dropped off today will be done by Wednesday." Well, Wednesday passed and I heard nothing. No answer. Someone (no idea who) from the store ends up texting me and tells me it "should be done" by the day that I need it by, and also, there is a stain on the dress that they could not remove. I get that maybe the stain just won't come out and that's fine/understandable, but now I am wondering what I paid $37 for. And to get it 3 days after they said it would done (8 days total). For one singular size extra small item. Learned my lesson and will definitely be using a different dry cleaner next time! Hopefully it actually ends up being done before I need it tomorrow - we'll see. Edit: picked it up this morning, hours before my event. The stains are very prominent on the front of the dress. Or as elusive as the wind. But alas-- I now know someone and you do, too. Stephanie's Custom Clothing & Alterations is now my place for any future alteration needs. I scoured the Google machine, as well as the Yelp App and found Stephanie. I popped on her website and huzzah! I could text her and send photos of what I was dealing with to see if it was something she could accommodate. (I like walking into appointments feeling prepared, showing what it was and explaining it beforehand helped me do that.) She quickly responded and we got an appointment set up a week later. She even was able to do later in the afternoon, as to accomodate my daughter that was in summer camp. The day of the appointment Stephanie was polite, professional and really seemed to know her stuff. Her shop is in a room just off her house-- totally separate with it's own entrance. She pinned both my and my little's dresses to be hemmed for an upcoming wedding and said she'd them ready within a week! Pricing seemed on par.
