My first time going to Civello for a haircut. I booked an appointment with Droudy using their online booking system. I was lucky to get an appointment in the same week, I was monitoring the website looking for openings since I was desperate after the long lockdown. When I arrived, I had to text a number and someone came to get me from inside the salon. They were great about physical distancing and covid safety measures with clear dividers between each salon chair and hair washing stations. Droudy was excellent, she was gentle and patient and was able to understand exactly what I wanted even with my less than optimal descriptions. I told her I cut my hair myself and she said she would be able to fix it and clean it all up for me. She also took her time to explain what exactly she was going to do by showing me the back of my hair and explaining what would look best. The whole experience was very therapeutic and exactly what I needed. Even after she blow dried my hair, I asked her to cut the front pieces a bit shorter and she was happy to accommodate. She also asked me if I was ok with all the products she was using which is something no other hair stylist has ever asked before - small touch but I really appreciated it. Late review but I went here once and enjoyed my cut. I forgot the hair stylist's name but she had blond short hair. I tried to find her again but the website doesn't have bios of everyone at the salon anymore. She was very nice and easy going. I think she charges around 60-65 for a cut. She put in some deep conditioning treatments in my hair free of charge because I mentioned it needed some TLC. Thumbs up! I would recommend her if you can find her. Lol. read more

I booked at Civello Rosedale Feb 16th 2019 after glowing reviews from two co-workers that have gone there for years. I booked online with Junior stylist Emily for both cut and Balayage. I specifically selected "Balayage" because I knew this could take house usually. I went in on a Saturday morning for 10 am and was told to wait 15 minutes, I was perfectly happy to wait, it happens and she was sweet. Once we sat down I showed her photos of how blonde I wanted the balayage on my shoulder length hair. I even reiterated many times that my expectations were realistic because I knew that that level of blonde might take another visit or two, but I mostly wanted that sun kissed and blended look with light pieces framing my face. She started on my highlights and she was super rushed through the whole appointment. I could tell the way she was technically applying the dye that it seemed wrong, but trusted her, she's the stylist after all. She kept checking on my colour and was worried it wasn't lifting and then told me she won't have time to cut my hair today, and no other stylist did either. At this point I was only there under two hours which not long in my opinion for blonde. Once we rinsed off, she put on a toner and left me to get shampooed by the wash/dry girl. The girl that blow-dried me seemed super inexperienced and didn't even style my hair, it was still super damp to the point I had to say "Uh its still wet, do you mind drying it all the way please"?. Then that was that. Emily came over to take a look and reassured me it looked great even though my stomach felt uneasy because I could see it looked super stripe-y, like 90s highlights (something I have never liked the look off since I prefer natural looks that blend and grow out nicely). I left without a cut, without a style, and I still tipped $20 for the experience. I went home to take a better look, sure enough, looked like orange highlights, not at all balayage. I called the salon that next morning and asked for a more experiences stylist to fix it. They said they couldn't do that for me but offered for Emily to fix it again. At that point I told the manager that I didn't have the luxury of time, or trust in the junior to go in again and asked what other options we had. She called to the queen location and they fit me in with Marissa the following weekend. She did a good job of blending the bad dye job but I still didn't end up with that blonde sunny look at all. They just managed to fix it. I ended up going back to my amazing salon Parlour to my usual girl for the cut. Civello is touted as one of the best in Toronto, but I didn't get that at all. I think they can do simple cuts and colours, but if youre looking for advanced technical skills, go elsewhere. For the price, not worth it all in my opinion. read more

I came here for a blowout. My stylist was Jackie. I have been to other Civello locations for spa services, but this was my first time at this location. It's pretty pricey here compared to other places I've tried (e.g. blo), but they really do pamper you from the moment you enter. There's tea, aromatherapy, and a shoulder massage before you even go to get your hair washed. They use Aveda products which always smell amazing! The downstairs salon area is very cozy and inviting. I got my stick straight hair done in loose curls using the flat iron (this costs extra, I think $15 on top of the blow out fee) and it lasted almost all day (which is good for me, because my hair is super thick and heavy, and usually curls straighten out after a couple hours). I probably wouldn't come here on the regular, but it's nice for a treat and they do a great job! read more

I've been coming here a few years now and I love it. It's like an old Victorian house turned into a spa. Quaint and cozy. The front and main floor are salon; towards the back is the make up station. Customer service is 100% here - from when you walk in - someone greets you, signs you in and then asks if you want tea/water/coffee. Every single time. They always manage to know how to book things properly b/c I have never waited more than 5 or so minutes for an appointment. I've only ever had colour or more commonly a cut done here so I can't comment on the other services but judging by everything else I would feel confident that the experience would be great. I see Aidan for my cut and he knows exactly how to cut my hair to the way I want. I hate when stylists always insist on putting all these short layers in my hair to help thin it out....he doesn't and it turns out lovely. He also doesn't pile on the products....the way he cuts it you don't need the product to do the work. Love it. They use Aveda products here and with every cut you get a mini head/shoulder massage. Every time. Not just your first visit...every single time! Heaven! Everyone here is professional and polite, but not in a way you feel like they are just doing their job - in a way that feels genuine. For your first visit I remember I got a $25 gift card to use (not sure if they continue that now) but that's such a great idea! I was a regular here. I don't know anymore. I really enjoy this place if I can get an appointment they can actually keep without cancelling or changing. The communication is awful. I was super impressed at the start of Covid around their innovation, creating colour kits of regular customers, etc, is so smart! But trying to get an appointment, deal with their staff. Nothing is their fault. No accountability. They keep cancelling and changing my appointments without notifying me. Why call to let me know about my facial being cancelled, but not the haircut? I even downloaded the app and checked a few days prior and all appointments were in there, then suddenly 2 services are missing and no one knows why. That's even if they bother to pick up the phone when you call. I'm not sure how people get appointments if they can't take calls, have a functioning app or website. It's extremely frustrating. I don't think I can recommend this place anymore. It's great if you can actually get in and see somoeone. read more

This was my first time having my hair done at Civello Rosedale and I was beyond impressed. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a lovely young lady and offered a beverage. I saw Sam the colourist who is amazing. I came with colour that needed to be corrected, and did she ever work her magic. I was so happy with my colour after. She was very thorough and very meticulous with every highlight done. She really took her time with my hair and the results showed. I am beyond happy and left Civello Rosedale feeling like a million bucks! I highly recommend anyone to go to Civello but especially to see Sam. She really knows her stuff . So I've given myself a rule that I'm going to a place at least twice before I give it a review. This is because in the past I have been going to places, been pretty pleased, written stellar reviews and then gone back and been less than pleased...and having to awkwardly revise those great reviews. I have been to a few different locations of Civello before and been quite happy, but I have found it to be on the expensive side and it's also a bit out of the way for me, so that led me to begin the search for another place. I did get my wedding hair and makeup done there though and was very happy. But let's move onto NOW. Here's the thing: If you want quality, you MAY have to pay a bit more. Now that I've gone all over Toronto searching for a hair salon, I actually don't find Civello to be that expensive. I mean, consider that you are stuck wearing your hair every day of your life, right? If you had to wear the same pair of jeans every day for 3-4 months, would you buy the $40 pair, or the $200 pair? EXACTLY! Except it's really not crazy expensive and I don't know where I got that idea from exactly.... Okay, so I'm getting off topic. I went to Civello the first time (since I got my hair styled three years ago for my wedding) at the beginning of the summer. Now there are LOTS of people that work at Civello, so I almost don't want to say who I went with, because I'm worried that everyone is going to start flocking to Civello and demanding this one stylist and I'll never be able to get an appointment ever again (yes, yes, #firstworldproblems). But it wouldn't be fair to him, to not say and it's maybe a little silly to think my yelp review has so much influence on the Toronto community. So yeah, they put me with Byron. I feel so selfless! I had some crappy pictures of what I wanted on my phone, but he worked with them and me. In the end it was gorgeous. Seriously, I wish I had taken pictures it was so pretty. Approx 4 months later and I'm back again, this time with a few adjustments in mind. Once again, I think my hair looks great. Besides quality hair, Civello is quick to offer coffee, tea or water. They also give lovely back massages while your hair is setting. Or Byron was getting fresh. Who's to say? Everyone there is really lovely, but Byron may be one of the better hairdressers I have had. Conversation feels more natural and he has some sort of weird, superpower memory for people, which is both amazing and unsettling. Either way it makes conversation a pleasure. And of course he does hair well, which is why we go to hair salons at the end of the day. Life isn't REALLY like Steel Magnolias...thank God. This was my first time visiting this salon. My hair is naturally a light strawberry blonde, which I had lightened a shade 4-5 months prior (2-3 inches regrowth was visible). It was the beginning of fall, and I decided to return to my natural colour in order to be a bit more seasonal. The colourist suggested a few photographs, mostly strawberry blondes ie. Jessica Chastain, Nicole Kidman, and I think the pictures were a fair representation of what I was looking for. We agreed on a semi-permanent (thank god!), so it would fade a little over time. I made a point of mentioning I didn't want anything much darker, since I am getting married in a few months, and will want to return to the light blonde again. Before she applied the colour, she warned me: the dye will look a lot darker than the actual colour, so don't freak out. I joked that when I died my hair ash blond, the colour looked dark grey on the hair. I noticed the dye was a deep copper/mahogany colour, but I figured that was normal. Another girl washed out the colour. The colourist came and took a look at my hair in the sink. I started to suspect that it came out a lot darker than expected, since she went a fetched a second type of shampoo, and commented she wanted to make sure she achieved the strawberry blonde colour I asked for. After another shampoo and condition, the colourist was M.I.A. I returned to the chair and took one look at my hair, and almost burst into tears. My hair was a deep copper red, not unlike the dye colour. I asked the shampooist if I could see my colourist again. Upon her return, I calmly informed her, that I was really disappointed, and this was nothing like what we had agreed to. She tried to convince me that it was in fact what I had asked for, and there was still a lot of blonde in it, it was just the lighting in the salon that made it look a lot darker. She took me into the natural light, and I noticed there were a few blonde patches peeking through, but they were just that... patches. The problem was, the only way to remedy the patchiness, would be to apply more colour, to even it out, which I did not want. She suggested that I go home and wash my hair a couple times with a detox (ie. clarifying) shampoo to see if the colour ran out at all. If I was unhappy, I could come back in two days and she would fix it. By the end of it all, I was wondering if something was wrong with my eyes, but after going home to my boyfriend, and to work the next day, the consensus was that the colour change was very dramatic, a couple people commented that the colour looked very uneven. To make matters worse, upon booking the appointment, the receptionist informed me that colour prices started at $70. Despite my obvious dissatisfaction, she charged me over $100 all in. After washing my hair a few times, there was no change. I called the salon, and asked to speak with the salon manager. The gentleman on the phone stated that he would be happy to listen to my issues, and it was important to him to correct my dissatisfaction. I told him, I was hesitant to return to the same colourist, since she had lost my confidence. In addition, I could not attend the salon on the day she suggested since I had to work (it was a Tuesday). I reiterated the experience, to which he apologized profusely. He stated he would relay the complaint to the salon manager, and someone would call me the next day at the latest. It is now over 3 weeks since I attended the salon, and I have not heard anything back. I have washed my hair everyday since with the detox shampoo, but there has been very little change. I have had my hair every colour from near black to light blonde. This was the worst colour I've ever had. Terrible experience in terms of colourist skill, and terrible experience in terms of customer service. Will never return to a Civello salon. read more

I've been here a few times, and I like this location. The only issue I had once was getting "ombre" done once earlier this year, the colourist seemed to think it meant putting random bits of colour on some of my hair, and leaving other strands brown. She no longer works there, but a week later I went back for a re-do and got Taryn instead, and she did the perfect ombre on my hair. A few months later my hair was gross and frazzled due to bleach and styling, so I got it chopped off by Byron and he did a great job, I would recommend him any time. My hair is thin and fairly straight and he cut it to my shoulders without making me feel like a dork afterwards. He also listened to everything I said. This will be updated as I go along, as I'm taking my bridesmaids to Civello in just over a week. Yesterday I had my hair rehearsal. The atmosphere is warm and soothing and they pamper you a little -- take you upstairs to hang your coat, get you a coffee or a juice while you wait for your stylist. I worked with Antonella and she was very helpful. I have short hair and wasn't really sure what to get done, but she let me look through a book and I found something. She knows what she's doing and it turned out gorgeous. (See my profile pic as of October 2010.) I love it when I know from the start that a stylist knows her stuff. If I'm not sure, hairstyling can be stressful. When I am sure, as I was here, it's the most relaxing thing ever (soft lighting and incense notwithstanding). The price is pretty much what I expected for a bridal party deal. The bride hair (mine) is more expensive than I expected but the quote for the rest of the party was pleasantly affordable. Ooooo. Walking in here is like walking into a different world. A european sanctuary of sorts. I got my hair cut today, but I'll probably be back. Their sales scheme to bring me back worked. It starts with a head massage. After a wash, she cuts my hair. I had asked for curly, except she did it too much more curly than I wanted. She spent more time in fixing it for me, essentially straightening it out again. It was my fault in not communicating my style properly. After you get a make up touch up , light foundation and lip gloss. ($85 for a senior stylist) They sucked me in again with a $25 gift card on my next service, which if I pre book I'll be entered into a draw for $100. AND then I got suckered into buying 2 shampoos and getting a free styling product for free. Sigh. My next appointment is a facial, and I'm looking forward to it. read more

First of all, I'm used to getting my haircut done by someone who has a basement set up in her home. But since she doesn't have an assistant, she's super busy and she lives all the way in Mississauga, I was finding it to be a bit of a hassle to get a hold of her and commute. So someone from Bunz recommended Arya at Civello. I haven't gone to a salon for at least seven years, so I didn't know what to expect price and experience-wise. It was amazing. I was offered tea when I came in, the head and shoulder massage was delightful, all the product Arya used smelled awesome and Arya herself was top notch. She was great to talk to, understood my low maintenance hair needs, explained what she was doing throughout the cut and she really pays attention to detail. This was hands down the most relaxing haircut I've ever had, and my hair looks and feels great . The price plus tip was also within my budget. Definitely will be coming back. :) read more

I've had my hair coloured by Byron 3 or 4 times now. the first time it was a bit of a mess. He highlighted it, did an overall colour and toned it. total cost came to ~$120, which is a GREAT deal. since then, i've simply been getting my roots bleached out & an overall toner. i'm usually in & out in 2 hours. the cost is $80 plus tax. Civello has an upscale feel, with quality Aveda products, talented stylists, and a moderate price point. Got my hair did! Last Friday, I called in and was booked for an appointment within the hour. A walk down Bloor checking out the shops made the time fly and soon enough I was in Civello. The space is gorgeous and I was greeted immediately. Everyone was very excited that this was my first time. I was escorted upstairs to put my coat away, asked if I needed to use the restroom and given a robe. What a way to begin! Back down the stairs, I was offered coffee, tea or water while I waited. I had some water and a few minutes later I was greeted by my hair expert. We went to her chair, talking about how I found out about Civello and what I wanted. She gave her honest opinion of what I wanted/what I had and I really appreciated it. She offered some suggestions I hadn't even thought of like softening my layers, how to deal with my long bangs situation, how I should part my hair and more! Wow, I haven't even gotten to the haircut yet. That's because first I smelt three different fragrances for the head and neck massage she gave me. Yum. Then my hair was washed very well, no drip drops on the face. Then the haircut! I told her that I liked her shoes and the conversation took off from there. No awkward silences and fun times. At one point I had to stand up so she could cut the length off because it went past the back of the chair. I've never had to do that before but my hair hadn't been that long for a while either. I got three inches off! She seemed surprised when I asked for this, apparently a lot of long-haired ladies would rather sacrifice health of the hair for longer length. But not me! I went for it. The results? Still decently long with cleaned up bangs that are just long enough to put into a ponytail but short enough to look like sweeping, side bangs. Soft layers, just like she said. She used the round brush to finish it off so it was nice and bouncy all day long, even the next day! Leftover hairdo, I'm a fan. All of this service and great haircut for something like $56, tax in! I tipped like crazy though. How could I not? Have some cash on you because that doesn't come as an option when paying with a credit card. You also get a 25 dollar gift card for being a first-timer. After my recent drastic haircut (yes, folks, I now have bangs), I was taught the trick to maintaining your new 'do -- FREE BANG TRIMS. Civello offers free bang trims between your cuts. Yippee skippy! This means no more late night 'trims' in the bathroom mirror, trying to duplicate the perfect bangs I always quickly get at the salon. *May I add, they make it look so darn easy, who'd know it would be so tricky with those gardening shears I was using. sigh/ No appointment necessary, just walk in, and they'll try and squeeze you in with your fav stylist, but if you're not choosy like me, just pick the hottest stylist avail, and get him to do it! You can go to any Civello location, too - not just the one that gave you your original lovely cut. It's a little thing, but an awesome one. read more

I recently went for a haircut at the location in downtown Oakville, I had very healthy long hair and I asked for a basic classic A-line bob. The hairdresser greeted me, took me back to the chair, barely listen to what I had to say, I tried explaining to him that I have very curly hair texture and that it was best we cut it dry. It was straight and easier to cut the right angle, he agreed. He stood me up combed my hair out, flat iron it straighter, burned my front turning my beautiful white hair yellow and then took a men's razor and chopped off my hair with the men's razor and attempted to angle it, when I asked him that's the best way to give me a haircut? he said yes, a lot of people don't know how to use it and then he was done in two minutes. It looked like someone cut off my ponytail, he took off about 7 or 8 inches, you could see that it was not a good haircut there was no texturing on the ends no blending in, he said I didn't wash your hair so I'll charge you half-price. I nervously walked out of there and cried all the way home, it took me years to grow my hair and it took two minutes for an idiot hairdresser to cut it off. I had to go to another hairdresser and have them correct the mess he made and lose more length in my hair. He was supposed to be the master stylist at the salon. Do yourself a favour and don't ever risk getting your haircut over there. Senseless, incompetent and very unprofessional. To think that I had to pay him money to do what my husband could've done at home. When I got home my family asked what the hell happened to my hair, we couldn't help but laugh at the disaster he made. Someone should take his license away. read more

I was quoted a price for a haircut on their website. However, the price I was charged after receiving my haircut was different than the quoted price online. The new price included an additional 7% fee on top of my bill. When I questioned the fee, they said it was a community fee to cover the cost of hand sanitizer and plexiglass. This was not up-front and it is an underhanded way to increase profits during a time when others are struggling. Other businesses such as grocery stores, retail stores and restaurants are not charging customers for COVID-related precautions. What gives this salon the right to charge customers for COVID protections when other businesses do not? read more

The first time I went to the Rosedale location, I wasn't exactly satisfy with what happen. I wanted to go for an ombre look for my hair colour but ended up with peek-a-boo streaks instead. Sure it looked nice but it wasn't exactly how I wanted it (especially for what I'm paying). What was frustrating was the fact that some of the colour was uneven and overly bleached. The one good thing was that I discovered a great hair stylist (Nelson)! He understood exactly what I wanted and did a fantastic job at it. They also give you a complimentary $20 giftcard if it's your first time there.. My second time around was so much better! I went for another colorist (Byron) who understood what I wanted and also gave me great suggestions on how the look should work. It turned out great (especially since none of my hair broke off from bleaching it). I stuck with the same hair stylist who once again, made my hair looked amazing and gave me such nice waves for my hair after the cut! read more

My randomly selected stylist was Tara, and I've been going to her every few months since (though I should go more often!) Great everytime, and she's quick without losing the details and clean lines of the cut. I've switched to this salon in the last 6 months. I've had my hair washed, cut and styled. I've also had my eyebrows waxed and my makeup done (for business card photos). I've been super satisfied with all the services. The two different hair stylists I've used (Becky and Antonella) were both great. They were very helpful in giving tips and suggestions. And can I just say the head massage you get before having your hair washed is almost too good. I half expected my leg to start twitching like a dog's! My makeup looked great when I had it done (I believe her name was Lucy) and she gave lots of comments as well, but the conversation was a little awkward sometimes. The overall atmosphere and little touches (like the robes and drinks on offer) are great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is price. It can be on the expensive side for sure, but quality. Also when I came the first time they gave me a $25 gift card, which seemed great and very thoughtful. However, when I got home I looked at the bill (it had seemed pricey) only to realize they had charged me for the "courtesy" gift card. read more

After several visits, I've decided this is not worth the money. Despite there being signs up stating customers are free to try different stylists and colourists, which I took to heart and did, the employees themselves seem to not want customers to do this. If you are there to see someone else, they are rude and sulky. I have felt very uncomfortable and do not think I will be going back. Not to mention, the people who wash and style your hair are incompetent--I've had water splashed down my back almost every time I've gone there and the drying process is painfully long. After rude behaviour, poorly washed hair, the cheerful receptionist asks me if I want to leave a tip. I'm all for leaving tips, but customers shouldn't be asked to leave one--especially when the service isn't great. read more

Absolutely worth every penny! From the second you step in the door, it's 100% customer service. I was greeted by Nicole, a charming young lady with the coolest necklace (TimeTurner, so neat!), and immediately offered my choice of refreshment. As I was being seated, Nicole advised me that my stylist, Derek, would be right with me as he was just finishing up with another guest. With a stack of magazines (all new editions) and a glass of ice water to sip on, I was in absolutely no rush. The decor is very cool, and while there is music, it isn't oppressively loud or obnoxiously club-y. All in all, quite pleasant (and the whole salon smells of Aveda products--absolutely delicious). While Derek took no more than fifteen minutes to finish up, he was absolutely worth the (short) wait. Immediately cheerful and super friendly, he was an absolute joy to be around. He inquired about my hair care regimen, the activities and sports I enjoyed (so as to adjust the style--if I needed a ponytail, to fit under a swim cap or into a ballet bun, etc), and how much maintenance I was looking for in a style. Once that was settled, my "vision" decided upon and my drink topped up (Raspberry lemonade this time, much recommended), I got treated to a really wonderful scalp, shoulder and neck massage with my choice of essential oils. I recommend the Aveda classic. Lightly scented, but still luxurious. And then, the wash and the cut... and the moment of truth. I had let Derek know that, as this was my first cut at a (dramatically) reduced weight, I had no idea what would flatter my new features. I gave him a few ideas, but the man must be a mind-reading sculptor because he took a garbled sentence full of "classic but youthful, feminine but also kind of gay", and gave me the perfect collar-bone length cut, full of movement and bounce while also making my naturally fine hair look a billion times thicker and so, so sleek. He even showed me what he was doing, step by step, so I would be able to replicate the look at home. (Thanks, Derek!) I couldn't stop playing with my hair, and the smile I wore when I got up out of that chair still hasn't faded. And then, then!, I was offered a complementary make-up touch-up by Derek, an absolutely wonderful little treat that I wasn't expecting at all. Truly above and beyond. My only comment is that I discovered their tips are cash-only--but it shouldn't be a problem if you're paying by card. Just mention it to the front desk before paying and they'll add it on to your total, and then give you the cash to put in an envelope for your stylist. No upselling, no pushing of their products (though full disclosure, I did buy whatever product it was that made my hair so bouncy--but I asked Derek, not the other way around). The Manager (whose name escapes me but she was also lovely) was so indulgent while I gushed over her staff. To make a long review short: Great prices ($75+tax for a senior stylist, very reasonable), convenient location (10mins from subway), and superb customer service make this a must-try. After a recommendation from a friend, I purchased a gift card as a holiday gift for a coworker from Civello in December 2017. I was looking forward to using our gift cards together. The gift card never arrived. I emailed four different times. Twice asking when it would arrive and later asking for a refund. The last time I received a response was in February saying that I would be refunded. I have still not received a refund. What poor customer service! Ashley did a phenomenal dye job on my hair!! I am a (dyed) blonde and usually have to re-dye my hair every 3-4 months. Ashley did such a gorgeous job on my hair that I was able to go 7 months until I had to dye it again! The roots grew out so gorgeously, I loved the look she created. Highly recommend Ashley !!!! boy oh boy did i get lucky.. woke up with some serious bed-head and was able to snag the LAST appt available on a sunday with "anyone". showed up at my appt, and immediately asked the chick working the door "i have an appt BUT CAN THEY DO CURLS?!" she laughed- as it was evident that i had been wronged before- and blurted out "bob loves curls". and then bob appeared. he sat me down and we discussed my needs/wants/deepest hair desires.... and then he got started. snip snip snip and 50 minutes later- THE CURLY OOMPH HAD BEEN RESURRECTED! so so grateful for the cut. if you have curls, stick with bob. read more

I returned to Civello after a long hiatus (10 years?) in October. I was in today and saw Malcolm for highlights and Eduardo for a cut. Malcolm was very friendly and, even if he wasn't, I was just happy that he was seasoned and experienced! I am typically not at all chatty when I get my hair done (and prefer it that way) but with Malcolm the conversation just flowed. He did a great job on my highlights and took the time to explain to me why my colour was on the brassy side when I came in. Next up was Eduardo for a cut. I had hoped to see the stylist I saw in October but she is away for a month. Eduardo didn't disappoint. I was a bit nervous at first - I have a lot of hair and if not cut properly, it can turn out to be a disaster. He was fast with the scissors and it took longer for him to dry and blow out my hair than to cut it. He did a really great job and I will definitely see him again. I'm generally not a huge fan of salons but I felt really comfortable here and they have free wifi to boot! I was able to get some work done during the colour processing time. The Rosedale location is the only one I've been to so I can't speak for the other Toronto locations. The staff are friendly and efficient. read more

I have been getting my hair coloured here for a couple of years, and I love it every time. Lauren, my go-to hair colourist, does an amazing job. She listens and she explains what needs to be done (or can be done). Whenever I've been traveling for long lengths of time, I've immediately booked an appointment to see Lauren when I've arrived back home, so that she can repair the damage done to my hair at other salons and she's always managed to make it look great. My 10 year old daughter tangled her long thick hair this morning around a round brush while getting ready for school. We were all very stressed as nothing helped (all the google recommendations and friends advice on how to detangle ahair brush off hair!) and the brush was hanging strongly to her hair. With many salons refusing to take us, my husband took her to Civello Rosedale. I was told that they were welcomed there and the three stylists (Lauren, Emily & Aiden) did everything they could to ease the stress and very patiently over a couple of hours (yes, COUPLE of hour work!) detangled her hair and freed the brush from it without cutting even a single hair! They didn't stop with that. They refused to accept any payment and even gave a big hug to my little girl! Where do you get such a service? Moreover, we are not even customers of Civello Rodedale and have not gone there before. I cannot praise and thank this wonderful place enough! Not to mention, my daughter now adamantly wants to go ONLY to these 3 stylists and want me to go there as well. There's no reason why I wouldn't go! I'm always nervous to try out new places (especially when I'm about to cut 8 inches off!!!) but as soon as I met Kate I felt at ease. Kate is not only highly skilled at what she does, but she is welcoming, kind and fun. I've had my hair cut by her twice now and don't think I'll ever go elsewhere!
