Disappointing. Walnut Creek Recreation broke the CA "Honest…read morePricing Law" (SB478). Walnut Creek Rec sends out a catalogue every year for the camps they offer. There is pricing in these catalogues- just like the catalogues you receive for clothes or Costco or whatever you get- they list a price, the store needs to honor it. We get the catalogue, we have a budget, the kids are excited to pick their camps within that budget. I register the kids for camps. Usually there's no issue. But this year the price on the website for one of the camps was more than what was advertised. Walnut Creek Rec thinks it's OK to increase the price and write in the camp description that "the price is different in the catalogue". I registered my kids because I thought the "Community" Center would honor their original pricing, but no. The option I was told was, "We can unenroll your child if you don't like the new price." Even after I told them this was "bait and switch", this was still their only option offered. This is an audacious and patronizing response and doesn't hold anyone accountable. The difference is $16 or $17 dollars, so it's not like they messed up 1 number when typing out the catalogue. An employee from Walnut Creek Recreation signed off on the printing of this catalogue with specific prices. The lady I spoke with and her staff member claimed this was a printing error. This was not a printing error- at no point did the printer mess up. This is their error and someone needs to hold them accountable. The lady who called me confused "accountability" with "acknowledgment". If you're reading this- look it up. You claimed you were being "accountable" when the words "the price changed" were included in the camp description on the website. "Acknowledgment" (with no corrective action) means you know you messed up, you admit it, and you do nothing about it- like this situation. You shouldn't be in a job that has a direct impact on other people because you do not value the community you work for. "Accountability" means you understand you messed up and you do what you can to make the situation better. The person who does this knows and values the impact they have on their community.. they also value their community. This review is for the staff and the lack of respect they have for the law and their community, and the lack of understanding how their actions can negatively impact their community.

It's a great place to exercise, stroll through to take pics, sit and enjoy nature, walk dogs, etc. A few cons are the railroad track is by the bay but the occasional noise doesn't affect me, it's close to an oil refinery, and there's an HOA that you have to officially ask permission to add major changes to the visible areas of your home. Lastly, home values in this area have considerably spiked, which sucks for homebuyers but current owners are loving it!

If you want that you'll arrange for it separately, just as my friend did. She also self-managed a slide show, music, and a couple of group dances. The whole affair was perfect and the spacious, high-ceilinged room (with free on-site parking) was nicer than possibly any community center I've ever been to. While I'd not suggest the Danville Community Center to those who don't live in the East Bay if you do, and you're seeking an event venue, it is quite worth checking it out. Perhaps it might even inspire you to host an event.

PASSPORT SERVICES: Made an appointment for passport renewal…read more& showed up with all paperwork ready to go (pics, birth certificates, ids, checks, application, blood work --JK..I had it all. I was greeted by receptionist (no smiles just a "hello" and asked to take a seat (we arrived 30 min early to our appointment). A few minutes later the passport processor called us into her office. No greetings, just looked at me through the glass & I guess assumed I'd just know to give her all the paperwork. I did. She looked at all of it, started the process & was silent.. except when she had a few short questions. It was extremely awkward & it felt like going to DMV where they're not necessarily mean but not at all friendly. NOTE: THEY DO NOT TAKE PASSPORT PICS HERE.

After living in San Ramon for almost 9 years, I was fairly unimpressed with the old City Hall digs in a nearby business park and was very happy to hear that my well-run city was going to get itself a new place to call home. So, how did it turn out? Well, I think it's beautiful! I love the rotunda (the round portion of the building with lots of glass and a shiny floor), it's grandiose and a perfect showpiece for the city. It's clear that the building was built using the latest in environmental and technological bells 'n whistles, which add to it's splendor. I happened to visit the NEW city hall for a trip to their passport office and was very pleased with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Congrats San Ramon, you've successfully built yourself something to be proud of - a lovely new City Hall. 5 stars.

This requires a waiting list perhaps, but definitely worth the wait. Field trips include the Police Station, a visit from the Fire Department and hands-on wonderful science experiences some of which include planting as well as watching the metamorphosis of butterflies. As a grandma, I was aware of the joy and excitement my grandson would exude the day of school. Thank you to Kathy and Lisa for making our community experience so memorable. I'm not just reviewing this place on a recent, pleasant dog walk (which is a great place to do and they have doggie fountains here as well). No... my roots go way deeper here. Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. It's the perfect spot for a picnic, a party, a walk, for dogs, to take your kids... just about everything! Lots of big grassy fields and tall trees that provide a ton of shady areas. There are tons of kids play areas with slides, swings, and other rides that I'm still trying to figure out?! Yeah... some of those rides look a little strange, but I digress... They have picnic tables galore! You can reserve one of the picnic areas for special events and parties. The last time I was here, someone was throwing a party for their little girl here. It's truly the best spot to do it at! You have a grill and so many tables to host people. This park is connected to a small swim center that has a pool and the most adorable little water slides! It's a hop and a skip away from the Lindsay Wildlife museum. There's a basketball, tennis, and volleyball court on site and restrooms are easily accessible. What I love about this park is that one of my favorite walking and hiking trails runs right through it: the Briones to Mount Diablo Trail! You can park at Larkey Park and take this trail all the way to Acalanes Ridge and even to the backside of Briones Regional Park! It's apart of Walnut Creek open space. There are a few other local walking trails that connect here as well. On nice sunny days, this park fills up with a ton of locals but it never feels overcrowded. Sometimes they have community activities that can be seen on their posted calendar. There's a small parking lot off of 1st and Buena Vista Street but there's also plenty of street parking on many of the side streets. It's a great local park with tons of activities.

I don't tend to come here much as the grass bothers my allergies, but it's a lovely walk in Fall and hooks right up to the nearby trail.
