I got a second opinion from RPM Team LLC and we set up a virtual meet. They were able to determine just by looking at the attic that there were trusses and that meant the wall was NOT load bearing. So basically Steve pretended those trusses didn't exist because he never brought up the trusses in our discussion after looking at the attic. I could only assume an upsell attempt.
