Over 36 years my pool deck sank about an inch in 1 corner and caused a lift and a crack on one section which sank a half inch after the crack. I bid 2 other firms, and although Saber was the mid bid, I chose them because they seemed far more professional than the others. Larry Peters came out and did a great job of estimating. Chris and James arrived on time, jacked up the two sunk sections and leveled them and then used polylevel to fill the void. They were very professional, competent, pleasant and worked fast. I recently hired Saber Foundation for an evaluation of my foundation. Initially, the company proposed a $40,000 project involving push piers, which I found concerning. After hiring an independent, licensed structural engineer to conduct a neutral assessment, it was determined that the foundation did not require push piers at all, and the actual recommended repairs were significantly less extensive. ​When I provided the engineer's report to Saber for a revised quote, the price dropped to a fraction of the original estimate. However, they then pivoted to pushing for a $10,000 mold remediation and vapor barrier project, claiming there was significant mold. I subsequently hired a professional restoration specialist to inspect the crawl space, and they confirmed there was no active mold growth or need for a vapor barrier. ​Furthermore, I noted technical discrepancies between the two reports: the engineer's report identified seven specific structural cracks, while Saber's proposal only identified five and failed to include the specific repair methods or hardware specified by the engineer. When I attempted to reach out to Saber to resolve these technical questions and discrepancies, I received no response. ​I would strongly advise other homeowners to obtain an independent structural engineering report before agreeing to any high-cost foundation work. In my experience, the repair scope provided by Saber did not align with the professional engineering standards required for my home's structural safety. read more

CA State issued me a $3000 grant for bolt and brace work on 1/26/26 subject to FEMA completion guidelines. A contract with Saber was signed 2/13/26 and required it to secure the building permit. This was issued by Long Beach on 2/26/26, and was sent to Saber's engineering firm & I received a copy on 3/27/26. Due to gross incompetence by Saber, it lists the wrong property owner on the City permit and making it difficult to meet the FEMA deadline. read more

After crew left, a half a hour, I went out and noticed a lot of small holes in the work they had completed I called one of the workers back, no response I called the office and was mostly blown off.....my driveway looked better before they attempted to improve it. This company is very aggressive and exuberantly expensive for the most routine walkway block of 3x3x2 slab elevation. Thy charge $1000.00 per inch raised and spend 2 hrs to persuade you to redo your entire walkway. They take few dozen pictures of the entire house and ignore the specific tags you called on. They show up late and stay forever to take pictures of your interest house without your consent or permission. Owners Josh Storey and Patty Froehlich are too busy to return your calls. read more

Where do I start with this company? I called Saber last July, and within days Jason Sparks was at my home. That was July 2023!!! I signed the contract with him that day! When he said they'd have a permit completed for my property within 2 months, I believed him. But that didn't happen. When I started calling them in August, I was told that a soils engineer would be out to test my soil, but I never saw them. And no matter who I spoke to, no one could tell me where my project stood with their design team, the plans, the engineers or the planners at my City. Only when I called in December was someone able to tell me that my plans would be going into the City yet again. Their inability to call back eithin a reasonable time and respond with details in a timely manner has slowly been eating away at my faith in them and by January, when I asked my sales rep Jason if he was certain that whoever at Saber was dealing with the City confirmed that I intend to add a second story to my home, he said he wasn't sure. That's when I started feeling like I needed others to review whatever plans Saber has created and decided to email the key individuals I was told to contact, so such paperwork would be sent to very specific professionals we have used in the past -- in hopes that a meeting with our people and Saber would put my mind at ease. I grew hopeful when Mariah said she'd send everything to me, but then, she only sent me the single page plan that references the soils report and structural work. Not the actual soil and structural reports. That was 3 weeks ago. When I finally got the name and number of the geologist earlier this week, and called Joel at the geological company, he said he couldn't find my address in their system and no soils test or soil report was coming up for him. But he promised to look more deeply into the situation and call me in an hour. It's been 3 days, and I still havent heard back from him. I did receive a text message yesterday from a Saber sales rep named John, asking if he could help me with anything. But when I texted him asking for proof of the soil and engineering reports, he said they would not send them to me unless I pay an additional $4k to them because they've already got more than $10k in my project -- concerning time and materials that have been set aside. When I texted him about Joel being unable find my soils test and report for my address, John has not responded. I have gone out of my way to be patient with these people and have also made absolutely sure that I had no intention of involving another foundation company. But because of their staff's inability to be able to communicate openly, I NEED others to review my project. And given the price tag for 31 "Helical Piers," the job needs to get done "right" the first time. If it has taken this long to receive a page of plans for my property with a soil or structural report, and there is this much push-back and lack of follow-through, I wonder if they will even arrive onsite to do the work well? When I left another message for Mariah today, the outgoing message has been changed and says the phone number belongs to the desk of someone else at the company. And when I tried calling Sara, she wasn't there to take my call either. If I have to do this much "chasing" to reach anyone at Saber to achieve peace of mind about what they intend to do at my 2,300 sq ft home, I can only imagine an even worse run-round for others who will be asked to pay far less. My next call is going to see if a permit was even granted to them by my City. Send prayers. This is a seriously messed up situation. read more

Just over 9 years ago my wife hired Saber to install piers under our home footings due to hill side sinking we were experiencing and then they added polylevel foam under the house to support what they lifted. We called them back under warranty due to our concrete foundation sinking, NOT the footing piers they installed. The piers were solidly in place still, we just needed the Polylevel repair. Brian with warranty repairs arrived within a few days to evaluate the companies prior work. He did his inspection and without haggling he told us they would honor their warranty almost 10 years later. Brian was great to work with, very friendly and professional through out the entire inspection. Christian with the polylevel division arrived a week later and quickly repaired the issues we reported with our foundation still under warranty. I reported other issues with my foundation, not Sabers responsibilities, and he said they could repair those issues at a reasonable price since they were already on site. I agreed to the bid and they completed all of the new work I requested to the highest of standards and all of my expectations. I know Its tough to fork out hard earned money to fix issues that were the original builders mistakes when they cut corners to save money, but just know you're in great hands with Saber Foundation repairs. They won't let you down and they'll leave you with a smile and piece of mind when the jobs complete. We had some work done in the summer to our crawlspace. We would experience massive amounts of flooding and water under there that would leak out into our garage and was a giant mess and problem. They designed a solution that included underground drains, sump pump, dehumidifier, and total encapsulation of our crawlspace with plastic. We could not be more happy with the results. We have been totally dry after the last few rains, but the big test was the massive rains that came this weekend and we are dry as a bone! This is more of a warning review. I cannot attest to Saber's work. I made the mistake of getting too caught up in the moment when I met with the sales representative, Richard. I signed a contract during my consult and gave a $1000 deposit. I acknowledge that I should have read the contract a bit more thoroughly and I should have waited a few days before committing. Ultimately, I decided that going forward with a $30,000 project was not in my financial best interest. Saber did not incur any financial loss by me not moving forward. I was never scheduled for anything. Saber has refused to return my deposit. I will be taking my chances in small claims to see if I can recoup my deposit. read more

I've only used Saber for my house's seismic retrofit for which I received an EBB grant, so this review is limited to that experience. They were the last contractors who came out to give us a bid, dazzled us a bit and promised to match the lowest bid we'd received if we signed that day. We were about to sign with a smaller business, but based on reviews here and that guarantee we went with Saber. Pros: The workers seemed highly competent, finished the job in one day, and apparently did good work since we easily received our permit when the City came out to review the retrofit. Cons: COMMUNICATION. Despite promises from the original salesman that they were very experienced with EBB and would handle everything, I had to stay on top of the office staff every step of the way to make sure deadlines were being met and paperwork was being filed. If I hadn't, we would not have received the grant money in the end and would have been out of pocket for the whole thing. I also had to remind them about their price match guarantee, as they first billed us for their normal rate even though I'd submitted the lower estimate when I signed. So, if you're approved for an EBB grant and you're going with Saber, be prepared to manage the process as if you're the contractor. read more

thing we never realized that there was an underlying musty smell coming from somewhere within the home. When we first saw our house, we never noticed such a thing, because the smell of new paint covered the musty smell. After highering cleaners to buying air filters to filter the air, the underlying smell of must would still drive me crazy. After much research, I discovered Saber, and at the time of getting them, I was looking to do an encapsulation. Saber sent, over Paul and he inspected my foundation to find the source of the smell. There was a part of the crawlspace that had more moisture than usual. They also discovered a weak point in my foundation. I did not get an encapsulation because they identified the problem by finding the origin of the moisture, and I needed to have that addressed before having the encapsulation installed. However, I paid Saber to re-enforce my foundation. Paul helped me identify that the gutters were the problem on top of exactly where the water was flowing in the crawlspace. Without their help, I would not have found where I needed to remove the rotted wood and fix the gutter on top of them, re-enforcing my foundation. Saber saved me over $100,0000.00+ because if they hadn't found the source of the problem, the moisture would have further damaged my house, and the foundation would have eventually cracked. In the next year or two, I'm looking to have them encapsulate my crawlspace. Saber's customer service, as well as their work ethic, is stellar. After having four other professionals check my place, no one could find the exact problems outside the service they offered. I recommend Saber for quality service and an ethical approach to finding your crawlspace or basement needs! read more

We had 8 different highly rated foundation repair companies come out to inspect our foundation and gather quotes. Saber recommended major foundation repair which would've costed us over $8,000. The next 7 foundation repair companies that followed inspected our home thoroughly and each one stated it is not a foundation issue! Further inspection revealed it is just joint cracking, most likely from earthquakes or minor settling and that it is a simple drywall repair only. Just to make sure it was not foundation settling, we hired a structural engineer who confirmed that the drywall cracking is not due to the foundation which is definitely not an issue at this time. read more

We are very happy with the job Saber did on our back patio - repairing cracks and raising up parts of the concrete. The problem was finishing the job which was initially done in September. On the second day there was only one worker to do the front stairs and walkways and he worked into the evening putting on the finish sealant for which we paid and extra $2000. Perhaps it was getting dark or the worker was getting tired, but the finished job, which you can see in the photos, was not done well. I contacted Saber several times, appointments were made and cancelled, and when a representative finally came to see the poor workmanship in person, he said he couldn't do anything about it because it would require taking off the sealant and redoing it. He did say he would return to fill in some holes which were drilled but left uncovered and would finish a couple of cracks, but he has never returned to do that. It has now been 6 months and I haven't heard any more about when the job will be completed in the quality manner which Saber guarantees. When the work is done properly, I will change my rating. read more

Horrible. We had foam jacking done over 2 months ago. We called the next day to say that there was still a substantial amount of water puddling where they had done the work and we're told it would be 6 weeks for someone to come back and look at it and after waiting that amount of time they could not be bothered to show up for our appointment. Now 3 " appointments " have come and gone and still no one shows up. Even after complaining that we've been taking time off and coming home early from work for these appointments it goes and actually happened again today. Saber Foundations leveled my house in Poway in 2017 and added piers in 2018 and late 2020. Recently (2024) I found cracks appearing in a few places and was concerned that the foundation was moving again. Saber sent Curtis Larson, a Project Design Specialist, to review my house. Curtis was very thorough, taking a couple of hours to measure my floor in detail, inspect all interior walls, and walk around the outside to view some cracks in the stucco. He pointed out a few things that I hadn't noticed. After his review he showed me historical measurements for my house (from their previous work) and assured me that the piers were stable and the house hadn't moved. He explained like likely cause of each crack to my satisfaction. He said he would schedule a follow-up visit to add markers to the exterior (something they were not doing in 2020) so future measurements could be easily and reliably taken. I was very pleased with Curtis' knowledge, thoroughness, and explanations. All my experiences with Saber have been good over the years and I'm happy they came to assess my house again, showing their commitment to their 25-year warranty. I'm a happy customer. read more

STILL haven't gotten the call from leadership to explain why their technicians refused to accomplish the proposed work without re-quoting for the tree root. This quote would have effectively TRIPLED the original quote, for a root that was visible during initial walk through... Long story short, find a different provider for your concrete repair needs. I'm only leaving 1 star since we can't go into the negative. The initial response was good. I needed a patio leveled out before a large event was going to be held. They responded quickly- probably because I hadn't paid them anything yet. Their personnel responded to my location and gave me a quote. It was below their project minimum so we added caulking of the seams to meet that threshold. They squeezed me in and the crew was pretty friendly. It looked like they did a good job so I tipped both the workers. Two days after they did the work, the patio sank pretty much back to the same level as before. Perhaps they should have done a better job in the prep work?? I call them to get someone out to fix it (this is late September) no appointments until November 17th- seriously??! Then rescheduled via email to November 27th in the afternoon. I called in the morning to tighten up the timeframe window. The person I talked to says they have scheduled for the 28th in the afternoon!! But wait- they sent me the email advising of the November 27th date....that they made. I was pretty pissed so I asked for a supervisor. They scramble and say we'll get someone there TODAY between 4 pm and 5 pm.....4:58 PM I get a call saying they are running behind and won't be here until 6 PM. Well here it is 6:10 PM and still no one is here. They can use the short staff excuse as much as they want- I paid for a service and it wasn't done correctly. Funny thing is they play the audio loop while you're on hold that says "are you tired of contractors not showing up when they say they will".....why yes, I am very tired of Saber saying they'll be here to complete the work I paid them to do. I would advise anyone thinking of using this company to reconsider. I've wasted a lot of my time waiting on them to fix their subpar work. Nate came out after almost 2 months of waiting for the appointment. I had already excavated the footing so he could see exactly what was going on with my slab on grade garage foundation. It was cracked in a few places. It sank and had lateral movement Nate said no prob. Perfect opportunity to use 4 helices piers at a cost close to $8000. I thought he knew what he was talking about so I signed Right then and there. Paid 10% down. Job would happen three week later... Cut to three weeks later... Crew shows up and tells me what Nate had agreed to was impossible. My footing was too far damaged. Thankfully the foreman cancelled the job. I got the deposit back a few weeks later. The delay didn't really cost me anything except lost time. I ended up removing the old footing and pouring a new one myself for a quarter of the cost of salvaging the old one Big job. Yes! Think twice before agreeing to work from this company. They want u to sign on the dotted line before they go away and will promise a lot that they may not be able to deliver read more

I contracted Saber to stabilize a corner of the home that started shifting and produced visible cracks inside and outside. Sammy (foreman) and Jesus (crew support) did majority of the work. They were very professional and courteous. Sammy explained what type of work was going to be performed and on what day. Everything went very well and they even finished a little ahead of schedule. The best part was that by pressurizing (not raising) the piers, some of my cracks and gaps closed up a little. That was welcome news! I would definitely recommend Saber and specifically Sammy and Jesus to my friends and family. While I hope to never have to stabilize my home's foundation again, if I ever have to, I will be contacting Saber. read more

We were having a lot of humidity issues in our house and called Saber to come out and examine our crawl space to see if that was to blame for our issues. Paul came out and analyzed our situation and sure enough - the humidity in our crawl space was extreme. On a day where it was 50% humidity outside, it measured 74% in our crawl space and all that humid air was seeping into our house and exiting through the attic. It was awful. There was mold everywhere and the air and furniture were all damp to the touch. Then! Like a magician, Paul came over and told me exactly what the solution to my problem was. He diagrammed out my crawl space layout, recommended an encapsulation of our crawl space with an industrial strength dehumidifier and then described exactly how the entire process would play out. The encapsulation wasn't cheap - about $15k, but the liner that they use is multi-layered and puncture proof. I had thought about buying some plastic from Home Depot and jerry rigging something, but after seeing the finished product, I'm glad that I didn't. They used a barrier between the ground and the liner to ensure that there wouldn't be any issues and there is a Smart Drain that will catch small amounts of moisture and distribute it so that it's not a problem. After the fact, we added a condensation pump so that if the Smart Drain fills up, the pump will send the water out into one of our Flower Beds outside of the crawl space. The vents are all sealed up with covers on the outside and then some Willy Wonka looking spray seal on the inside. It looks like cotton candy that is the color of an Apple 2e computer from the 80s after it's turned yellow, etc. Franco and his team were outstanding. Very professional, always on time, and they always kept me up to date on what was happening next in the process. I would highly recommend Saber - even though the price was high, the job was beyond professional and we are without mold and ridiculous humidity! read more
