It was 32 feet tall and was topped by a lantern. An old photograph shows it had a black base and white upper half. In 1930 or so, with not much commerce here to protect, the lighthouse was relocated to the grounds of the Olcott Yacht Club. It remained there until 1963 when it was dismantled. This new replica was constructed in 2003 based on those photographs. A full scale replica, it remains today on the shore and not on a pier. The interior is open with the ground floor a bunch of displays with some historic photos and a lot of brochures of Olcott area accommodations and attractions. The town of Ellicott New York, among other places, is named for him. The marker reads, "Site of Stone Marking the Northernmost Point of the Transit Surveyed by Joseph Ellicott. They charge a $5/person entry fee but apply that to the cherries you purchase. They have both sour and sweet cherries, but the sour ones were a bit too tart for my taste. The trees had plenty of cherries on them and they were so delicious and sweet. The staff was very friendly when we were checking out. I definitely recommend cherry picking at Kappus Farms! It's such a fun experience to do with family or friends and it's relatively inexpensive.

Kappus charges $5/person picking fee, which comes off your final amount if you pick enough (forgot what the quota is). They told me they have to do this because many of their patrons just go in and eat. Indians and Muslims galore, sitting in the fields eating the cherries while they walk out with barely any picked. One patron gave my daughter BRANCHES he had taken from the trees with cherries on them. My teens get mad going to this farm because of what they see. As for the cherrries, the sours weren't really sour tasting imo, and a lot of the trees just don't taste great. Make sure you taste every tree bc the ones with the cherries still on them, are yucky tasting. The one lady worker is nice. The other ones are just kind of meh. I would be too if I saw my farm being destroyed by people not speaking my language and not really caring about my land. We won't be going back anymore. It feels like a punch in the gut.

He unfortunately made a couple cows run a little in fear, because he ran up to them and screamed (with happiness) but they didn't know! He was able to 'lean' against the cows and give them pets (that's how he likes to show affection). It was super muddy but we wore our rubber rain boots so we were good! I recommend dressing for mud, no matter the season or temperature! The animals are all rescued, so they are enjoying their new found freedom and love. One cow was blind, and she stole my heart! They have a variety of other animals- goats, sheep, chickens, etc. We had a wonderful time, and we didn't want to leave, but we were tired and I thought the animals needed a break from my son =D. Visit if you can, or donate to them so they can continue to provide care for these retired and/or rescued animals.

Our pictures & videos say it all. Our pilots, Owen and Sean, were personable, fun, sincere, charming and great dancers which totally put us at ease :) The biking was easy. In fact, every detail of the trip was perfection. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN.! A totally unexpected highlight were the reactions of the people we passed on the streets. They immediately started smiling, waving, dancing and singing along with us with surprising abandon. SO FUN!!! Customer service was genuine, attentive, and incredibly responsive from start to finish. Much appreciated. No matter your age, this is an experience everyone should try at least once. I'm already planning my next rides with family and friends!

The inital fee is just for the transportation and awesome entertainment going around the city. They ask that you arrive 30mins early but if you complete your waiver online you can get there around 5-10mins ahead. But come early if you're keen on having a few pints at Blue Moon with the discounted rate before your Pedal and chat with your new crew. You won't be going back to your starting point but you'll end up a bar where you can take your time and enjoy good company. This was a great way to meet new people and check out bars I'd normally wouldn't step into unless I happened to be in the area Googling. I highly recommend this for any occasion! Pedal safe, party hard! TIP: Helmet is optional but you'll HAVE to wear it the whole time if you ask for one. Bring some cash to tip the crew! But you can also scan a QR code to pay them online.

Horseshoe falls was windy and wet! I was worried about dropping my phone. A lot of people start pushing to get to the railing of the ship. Not everyone on the boat is from your tour group. We got on the boat and stood by the side rail of the boat to get the view. My son and I were standing there by ourselves and people start filling in. As you get close to the falls people push you out of the way to try and squeeze in to get their photo. We were literally pushed out of the way. Hence the reason I was worried about dropping my phone. Cave of the winds also an experience but not what I was expecting. Maybe I didn't do my research but, I thought it was something different. The staircase down to the falls was pretty cool, you really get a glimpse of how powerful the falls are. You're right up there next to the American fall, it was very wet and windy. I got a little nervous, if you drop anything, it's gone. Hard to take pictures with hurricane force winds and the amount of water coming at you. Definitely suggest a camera with some sort of a handle or something. Saw a certificate in a gift shop that said I survived the hurricane winds of cave of the winds...had I have known it was going to be what it was I might have chosen not to do this part of the tour. When I presented my tickets, I was told that my tickets would not be honored and I would need to purchase new ones! The worst part is that the tickets I purchased by this scam company were $25 more! I paid this trash company almost twice as much! I booked them through Viator and Viator needs to do a better job of vetting their contractors. I have contacted my credit card company, disputing the charge! Do not use this company, at least for Niagara Falls Maid of the Mist boat ride.....go through Maid of the Midst directly!!!! Total disappointment with this company!
