I have only done the open air boat, so this review pertains to that experience. It was like a natural thrill ride/roller coaster. ( Fast speeds and spins, but also some amazing views. One thing to note is make sure you keep your group close together so you can actually be seated together. If you live local, check for discounts online. At one point it was almost a $20 savings for having a local address! If you are looking for a unique, fun adventure, definitely check this out!

First off it's in the town of Lewiston which is a beautiful setting for a garden festival. The majority of the vendors at the festival are selling items that focus on your garden and outdoor living areas. There's a wide assortment of flowers, plants, bushes, and trees along with things like bird baths and outdoor decorative items. At the end of the walk through 5he festival is the town gazebo where the local gardening club is set up with a master Gardener and all kinds of information to share. They conduct a container gardening contest that everyone can vote on. Naturally there are also several food vendors along with all the local restaurants and businesses that welcome you with open arms so don't forget to check them out. There are also garden tours through some of Lewiston's local residences. Or just walk around and enjoy the beauty of the entire town. You'll truly enjoy it. 2021-90

After bring in line for about 2-3 minutes, another lane opened and many cars moved over to the new lane. We stayed where we were and in about 5-8 minutes we were done with customs. It was an easy and painless border crossing back into the country.

There are a few different options for crossing the border between the United States and Canada…read more Based on where I was and where I was headed, the Lewiston Queenston Bridge ended up being the most efficient for me to get to Ontario. I understand that this bridge usually has the least congestion compared to the Peace Bridge (bonkers!) or the Whirlpool Bridge (which only accepts drivers with a NEXUS pass). This beautiful arch bridge opened in 1962 and has five lanes over the Niagara River. It serves as the terminus of I-190 in New York and Highway 405 in Ontario. Very good signage points the way to the border and there is a "Last Exit in USA" sign to keep you from doing something dumb. A toll of $5.00 USD (or $6.50 CAD) is grabbed at the border but only heading in to Canada. There is a tollbooth after the border crossing and I was surprised that my North Carolina Quickpass worked. The otherbridges seem more circuitous. Of course it depends on your final destination. The Peace Bridge is closest to downtown Buffalo and the Rainbow Bridge is closest to the casinos. But I feel like if you're driving to Toronto, the Queenston-Lewiston is the shortest distance. One thing to keep in mind, if you're a Nexus user, is that the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge lacks a dedicated Nexus lane from Canada to the United States, but does have a NEXUS lane for travel into Canada. It also has a newly renovated Duty Free store. Also the bridge permits no pedestrians.

This is a festival I try to attend every year. I love the different art that is there and the…read morefestival vibes. Most years there are the same vendors there, but it is comforting. There is always something new to discover. Also, it is in Lewiston, which is one of the cutest villages in the area. During the festival, most of the stores are open, and it is nice to also shop there. I absolutely love the chalk drawing competition every year that the students create. This year's theme was Woodstock, peace and love. The students have so much talent.

This jazz festival gets better and better year after year. This is our fifth or sixth time going…read moreand everything went smoothly. Plenty of security and police, food, vendors and retail booths abounded. But most importantly, the music was excellent. They had two large stages, about 300 yards apart on Center Street and a smaller stage on the side of the street equi-distant between them. The spacing worked well as you couldn't hear the music from any other stage interfering with the performance you were attending. The performances year after year get better and better. This year we actually purchased tickets so we could sit right in front of the main stage in comfort which was very enjoyable. In prior years, we listened to the music from the sidelines, which was also fine. The village of Lewiston has many restaurants, coffee shops, and nooks and crannies to explore. We look forward to this every year.

We started the trail near Fort…read moreGeorge Historical Site in Niagara on the Lake and biked nearly all the way to Niagara Falls. Along the way there are several fruit stands and attractions like: the flower clock, views of the Niagara River, Niagara Botanical Gardens, the Whirlpool Aero Car and Niagara Falls Whirlpool Adventure Course, etc. You dip down into a little town on the way that has plenty of character. On our way back we stopped at a wonderful produce and gift store, Walkers Country Market, and relaxed with an ice cream and bought some butter tarts to go, a delicious reward for all the exercise. Please note: the trail has a few challenging spots, a couple hills. But other than that, most riders should have a very good time.

The Niagara River Recreation Trail is a beautiful trail running all the way from…read moreNiagara-on-the-Lake to Fort Erie, past the botanical gardens, wineries, fruit stands, historical houses, art galleries and of course, the incredible Lake Ontario and Niagara Falls. While staying at Harbour House Hotel on a recent vacation, I was able to utilize this trail to continue my training for an upcoming race. The trail begins at Ricardo Street and Nelson Street (directly across from Nelson Park, a TINY waterfront park) and continues along a mostly flat path, all the way to the falls {there is one major hill right before the Botanical Gardens!} The trail is paved and mostly shaded once you get past Fort George and is a 22.6km walk/run/bike to the Falls. FYI: the Botanical Gardens are a much more manageable feat if you're looking for a nice bike ride, about 15.2km (takes about an hour from the start of the trail)! The trail gets busy during the day, but is quiet in the morning, although you will regularly see bikers/runners and dog walkers even at early hours, but a much lower 'nosy' crowd. There are lots of picnic tables, grills and you'll even find some parks along the trail with bathrooms. I didn't see any water fountains. The trail has kilometer markers every km, which makes for a convenient way to track your distance. There are many small parking lots along the trail with free parking (occasionally you'll see a paid parking lot, this is most likely in conjunction with a historic house, just go a little further down the road, and you'll find a free spot in no time!) I highly recommend checking out this trail if you're a runner, biker or just looking for a beautiful walking trail while in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

As there is a walk from the parking lot down to the security check and then from security check down to the venue. I did have a moment with security trying to give me a hard time about the clear bag I brought. The venue information said clear bags are allowed. Nothing more on the clear bag specifications. They tried to send me back to the car with my clear bag because it had drawstrings and they said they makes it a back pack. Well yes, I can wear it on my back but it's still a small clear bag. I really didn't appreciate the fuss over this and objected. They let me go in after some back and forth but really felt this was ridiculous.

During the Sierra Farrell show, this venue hired officers that threatened to pepper spray my family…read morewhen they closed the lawn during a lightening storm. When we arrived at the venue, due to the storm, we were told to go into the shell during the opening band. We watched the band inside the shell. Then we were told to go to the lawn at 8:40pm. We went to the lawn at that time, along w/ approx 400 other people. Ten min late, the venue closed actual walls between the shell and the lawn. The rain/lightening was still strong so we sheltered in place at side of the shell and under a roof. State Park police and Artpark Security told hundreds of people that had to leave (while the show was going on inside the shell). Everyone asked security and police to let them in the shell for safety and they said no. We advised to them that we have two children and one of our childrens' friends (whose parents were in the shell) and to let us contact his parents and work on a plan. Since it was raining hard and lightening very close and our car was a 10 min walk, we told them it was safer to stay where we were. Police started getting aggressive and threatening. As they started to push the crowd away, we heard one of them threaten us that if we didn't leave, he would spray the crowd. When we asked if he would pepper spray children, he answered that it was his job and he was happy to put food on his table.
