We arrived at around 11am on April 18th to two young people chatting at the front register. The young boy left and went into the back, apparently to get water and leave. The young, blond at the front register did not say Hi, did not look at us, did not say Welcome. She was actually annoyed that we interrupted her conversation. We should have left but my husband really needed coffee. We inched closer in hopes she would acknowledge us but nope, completely ignored. So we inched closer and FINALLY after 2 minutes, we received a "Are you ready?". We asked if they had any Match green tea and she advised no and said we could go to a different coffee place down the road that carried it. REALLY?! If this was my employee, she would be fired for sending business away. Mom and Pop's survive on customers and here she is sending us to a rival coffee shop. WOW! How embarrassing, I wonder how many customers a day she sends away. The appropriate response is, we don't have that but may I make a suggestion that you might like? Or here's something similar. I did not make a purchase, so they lost out on the extra money. The only positive thing that I will say is the young, brunette that was making the expresso came out and delivered it with a smile. I was heading home from visiting my beloved LA bff who lives in Northern California, and I knew I had to stop somewhere by 12:15pm to give a conference call. Once I got to Crescent City, I still had a good amount of time to kill. I googled Starbucks, knowing they had WiFi, but the closest one was in Grants Pass; and, that just wouldn't cut it. I saw CJ Coffee, gave them a call, they said they had WiFi, and they couldn't have been nicer. I told her about the phone call I had to make, and she said they'd turn down the music for me. Once I arrived, I was so surprised -I'd bet that it's the sweetest joint in this mile-long town (that I'd never heard of). And, it was cutely dressed up for Halloween! It was the perfect place, in the most random location, for me to have my phone call. I assured them I'd buy something, once my call was over (because I was in a hurry). The young girl told me not to worry about it; she was so kind, and she suggested a quiet area for me to sit. Once I was done, I got a delicious almond milk latte with an extra shot, which was much better and cheaper than Starbucks would have been, anyway! I loved this place. Cave Junction is a town that doesn't offer many places to hang out--especially if you don't drink or smoke meth. Even the park in town is a bit on the shady side. This made me nervous when I first moved here, as I enjoy hanging out in town and often have time to kill in between work and other responsibilities. I discovered CJ Coffee pretty early on and haven't looked back. In a town full of working class folks and stores that are only open when most people are at work, CJ's is one of the first (if not THE first) place in town to open every morning. When I go there (around 7am) the place isn't exactly busy. It's usually me and two other regulars hanging out here, along with 1 or 2 customers going through the drive-thru. The quiet this provides allows me to get work done or read without too many distractions. Unfortunately, they don't start serving breakfast until after I'm at work so I haven't had many opportunities to sample their food. I have had breakfast once and lunch once though and they were both average, with the breakfast being slightly better. The staff is friendly and not only new my regular order within the first week, but didn't miss a beat when I switched from coffee to tea. They seem to have a fairly high turnover but there are two or three folks who have been here since around the time I started coming. The only thing I have beef with is the prices. They aren't as high as most of the rip-off joints in this town but the fact that a cup of coffee is more expensive here than at Rogue Roasters (a bigger place with better coffee and a more extensive menu) blows my mind on an almost daily basis. If a brand new, cheaper, hipper coffee shop opened up next store I would probably keep my loyalty to CJ's. Coffee Heaven is busier but their quality and prices are the same and they don't have any indoor seating. read more

The coffee is decent but the food isn't great. I've eaten here a lot because I wanna like it but I have a lot of complaints. I really want to like it because there aren't a lot of places to eat in cj. The onions in the breakfast burritos aren't cooked well and they use cold French fries as the potatoes. The lunch burrito is mostly rice and I'm pretty sure once they gave me spoiled hot sauce. I've had their sit down dinner a couple times and the glasses were pretty filthy. I hope they can get better, I really want to like the food. read more

I love CJ Coffee . it's so great to finally have an indoor coffee house . It's got great atmosphere and all the right stuff. I like the high ceilings, and lots of windows. it's very modern and clean . Also free WiFi , And Satellite tv . a friendly staff . The biscochitos And Great coffees are soooo good . Traveling through to Talent Oregon and had the good fortune of finding this local place. Great coffee and had a few food options as well. Good Mexicali Coffee and Latte. The quesadilla with chicken was flavorful and the salad were perfectly portioned for the price. Fantastic service with a smile. Don't miss this spot if you are around Caves Junction. read more

A fairly new place with a great owner who, along with her staff, are very friendly and helpful. They have a nice variety of both breakfast and lunch items and they come in large portions plus a great selection of coffee drinks. The indoor seating is very pleasant in a large well maintained area and there's wifi available. I highly recommend this place either for a relaxing sit down break or , if you're in a hurry, they do have a drive thru for coffee orders. read more
