Most of my experience interacting with DJs at bridal shows were negative. They were pushy, all about the "flashiness" and expensive. They just wanted to sell sell sell you a bigger package, extra stuff, this and that. It made me so worried to find someone I felt comfortable "creating the party" at my wedding! I found the complete opposite with Biggs. My event coordinator at my reception site recommended him as our DJ, but I hadn't heard of him before. So glad I managed to meet him at a bridal show at Pearl Street. Biggs and his assistant were so professional! Both wearing suits, waiting for a person to clearly be interested before they approached them with a flyer. They were also playing some pretty fun music while we were perusing other tables, which is also pretty important for a DJ! Biggs continued his professionalism throughout my wedding. I was pretty last minute getting some details to him but he did great handling my last minute requests. Also his music choices were killer. I told him the bands/genres that I'd love to hear during dinner, I didn't mention any specific songs. My guests who have similar taste in music asked me if I put the playlist together because it was so perfect! I think just about everyone had a really fantastic time at my wedding dancing. Our epic last song (which wasn't planned til that night!) was a raucous sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody. So much fun. I'd recommend Biggs to anyone in need of a DJ for any event!

He was amazing to work with; our meetings with him were fun and put us at ease while also being incredibly informative. Even though we were planning our wedding from out of town, we never had a difficult time getting in touch. He made sure we had everything planned and running smoothly. He also understood exactly what kind of music we wanted and everything he played was spot on. Everyone had an amazing time and friends/family are still raving that ours was the most fun wedding they've ever been to. We largely have Mike to thank for that.

Music choices were OUTSTANDING, he played a great mix of the styles we'd discussed, our dance floor was going strong the entire time. He played some hits, some deep cuts, we couldn't have asked for anything better. All of our guests and us really enjoyed him, his energy, his presence on the mic, his control of the room, his ability to read our crowd. His up-lighting made the entire space look great. Our guest(s) approached the DJ and requested the same. Unfortunately, the volume was too loud (for a couple of our guests), and they left. My mother-in-law was one of them. It was important my guests enjoyed themselves and having to talk over the music after requesting it be lowered was a concern. If there were questions about their requests, I should've been approached to discuss the situation. None-the-less, a few of my guests left and complained to my husband about the volume. Suggestion: The bags from your instrument and the DJ equipment were on the dance floor. One of my guests almost fell due to the placement of the bags, which were not folded or hidden. In the future, please ensure the bags are put in a safe place for the guests." I emailed Matt, the owner, and he talked with Evan. He appreciated the feedback. Evan was great about playing the introduction songs I requested, and created our introduction perfectly. I requested a couple different sounds and song to play, he sent me a copy, and it was perfect! I also gave him a music list with YouTube links to help him with some older songs our parents used to listen to. He even picked a Polka dance for me and my Hubby to dance to. My bridesmaid (Ukrainian) had to come in and take over. Apparently, my Polish husband wasn't going fast enough. We did have an open bar, if you catch my drift. The sax was my favorite part of the night. I think if there could've been more sax playing, along with DJ'ing, it would have been better especially with a small wedding and venue, and older people. The younger crowd (there were about 15-20) enjoyed the music and danced a lot. If the music was lower, it wouldn't have affected them because they were close to the speakers. The only downfall (and I'm hoping this is a faux pas only until the construction is complete) is the lack of accessibility. There are no ramps to get inside the building or from the entrance into the bar/restaurant venue. I was surprised that we had to request flatware with dessert and that there wasn't an option for coffee or tea. That being said, tonight's local chef/business was Tony's Supper Club. I enjoyed The Big Hello cocktail to start and since I wanted to order one of everything on the menu, I got 2 appetizers, an entree to eat for my meal, an entree to bring home for tomorrow, and dessert. The Fungi "Cappuccino" was deliciously creamy. My only gripe was that I needed a spoon and more bread to sop up every bit of goodness. The Caramelized Figs with creamy Goat cheese and spicy arugula was the perfect combination of flavors. For my main entree, I ordered the Wild Boar Ragu. The buccatini pasta was al dente, the ragu was well-seasoned (another part of dinner that needed just a nip of bread for sopping) and it was tough not to lick the plate clean.
