I started getting bumps around my mouth and chin area due to wearing a face cover 8- 10 hours a week. My wife and daughter recommended I get a facial. I was apprehensive and didn't think this was an option for me. I WAS WRONG! CJ made me feel very comfortable and at ease with what I was about to experience. The treatment I received was one of the greatest treatments I've ever received, and I've had them all. I would absolutely recommend CJ to anyone who's looking for an esthetician, she's AWESOME ! Made an appointment threw the website. Confirmed the appointment through the email automatically sent. At the time of the appointment she was not there. Relocating to Charlotte and decided to google for Brazilian Wax... spoke to other businesses prior to CJ - they sounded more interested in quoting their inflated rates than the service I was inquiring about. Great service, never on time. If you have more patience that I have, you should go here. She is very friendly and comfortable and does a wonderful job. I started going here with a groupon ages ago. I posted a 5-star review about 1 1/2 years ago. Since someone marked it "useful", I feel obligated to update it. I stopped going here because since that review, the owner never kept an appointment on time. Sometimes she wasn't there yet, sometimes she was just casually finishing up with a late customer before me. I make it a point to be on time for appointments, and I got tired of doing that when my time didn't matter to her. But again, if you're content to sit in the hallway staring at your phone for 10 minutes, she's wonderful. read more

Cj Wax Studio is a fantastic place to get waxed. If you are looking to get a good, solid, reasonably priced, stylish, effective, and high quality wax, then this is your place to go. My personal recommendation is to eat a giant plate of spaghetti and 15 turkey meatballs prior to your visit. The marinara sauce is good for your skin and will help the hair follicles grow back clean and smooth, although I can't prove that. The good news is that you can't prove that I can't prove that. In short, Cj treated me with respect, honor, and a kindness that a stranger rarely shows to another person. Cj should be awarded for the love that she indiscriminately shows to her customers. My appointment was for a bikini waxing and it was awful! I have had this service performed many times but never with this level of unprofessionalism. She does not take notice to the clients' discomfort with her technique. I'm assuming she was trying to be quick rather than prepping the client for the next strip removal. She did not apply pressure to the area as the hair was removed to reduced the pain. Rather she just kept ripping the hair out leaving one no choice but to flinch. The most disturbing part was her getting an attitude saying, "Don't move!" As a professional, you should never treat your client as if they are inconveniencing you. It is your job to make your client feel at ease and make an uncomfortable service as comfortable as possible. I am giving one star as there is no lower rating. The sad thing is that I was so excited to support a small business owner. Also, I'm not sure where the positive reviews on her website come from but they do not reflect my experience. read more

I came across CJ wax studio via google. I decided to call and make an appointment to have a Brazilian wax done for the first time. I spoke with Candice and we scheduled my appointment for the next day, which was a Saturday. She asked if I knew where the studio was located, I replied no but would google it and use the GPS. She assured me if I got lost, it was fine & to call. Saturday arrives, and I am on my way. I get to the area 15 mins in advance. I cannot locate the studio so I decide to call. I called her three times and she did not pick up her phone. I left a voice mail as well. I pulled over and waited for a couple of minutes. After that, I decided to head back home. I was pissed off as I just had the same experience with a different shop not answering. I GPS the route back home which was about 25 mins away, and 10 mins into me being back home. Candice calls me a couple of times. I decided not to answer, as I am pissed off. The studio is in a very busy area and I felt she should of picked up the phone. I am always prompt & on time, if not early. I expect a place of business to operate the same way. I will not be returning nor scheduling with her again. xo read more

Ok so, this may be my 3rd or 4th brow place I've reviewed. I have a thing for brows. A coworker (with excellent brows) recommended Candice. Her brows were always on point so I thought, OK I'll give it a try. My first appointment didn't start out well. I arrived (Like the previous reviewer I had slight issue finding the boutique). I could find Sola Salons, but due to the construction it wasn't clear what room to go to. Anyways, I was early. Candice was about 5-10 minutes late. She didn't seem bothered by it either. She was pleasant, but no I'm sorry. In retrospect I think this was b/c I was a new client which isn't the smartest business plan, LOL. I wonder how many no shows she gets- it's an big enough issue that she has penalty should you noshow if you are a repeat client. You really can only book through the app Vagaro also. But can we talk about my brows.........they are the bomb.com. Like seriously. So I decided to give it another go and I've been happy ever since. In the last 6 appointments she's been on time, if not early for all my appointments. I've never had to wait..I've had last minute schedule changes and she's worked with me like you wouldn't believe. I love my brows and you can't beat the price. I've heard she does a bang up facial, but I don't have any interest in that due to my fickle skin. If CJ closed down I'd go back to Benefit Brow Bar in SouthPark in a heart beat, but CJ has beaten them out for my business by a hair....or should I say an eyrbrow. read more

As a first time Brazilian waxer she made me feel very uncomfortable. Between coming in on the phone and telling me I need to stay still or she's not doing it it felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. I'm not sure if it was she isn't a morning person or if it was because it was my first time but I felt very uncomfortable through out the service and was given no direction on how this service is usually performed.
