I'd like to preface I am not one to leave reviews-- but Hilary was the least welcoming beauty consultant I have ever encountered. I came in with a smile excited to explore how I can tailor my brows the my face shape and learn how to maintain that by myself at home. She barely spoke to me, did not crack a smile, and did not even explain what she was doing to my eyebrows. I asked her if she was tinting them and she seemed annoyed at me even asking the question. A very cold human being. If you're new to doing brows, want an uplifting experience, or want what's in the description above, DO NOT go to this woman. I'm not sure how you can "create a long lasting relationship" or provide a "detailed consultation to understand your brow goals" when you don't even explain the process of what you're doing to MY FACE. "My goal is to help you feel confident, cared for, and on the path to your dream brows" is a false statement as she did quite the opposite and ruined my day. I asked her for a lighter color to fill mine in, but the "premium" pencil she handed to me is actually a shade darker than the shade I had on when I walked in the door. When I told her I was not happy with the result, her responses was "well that's just what you're working with with your eyebrows" and was genuinely so rude. She told me that I already know how to fill mine in so it was MY fault that I'm not happy with the service. She will most likely respond to this message with some customer service voice, but she is not what she makes herself out to be on her website. I have been going to Hilary for my eyebrows for years and am surprised to see a few negative reviews. She is very professional, caring and good at what she does. I live 30 mins from her work place and still go just for eyebrow waxing because she is the best (and yes, I tried other providers for comparison). She will talk if you want or silently focus on your brows. I appreciate this because there are some days I just want to come in and relax without chit chat. She has a policy of not accepting clients past 7 mins late as this keeps everyone on track. So I can always expect her to be on time for me, which is appreciated. My coworker had recommended me to try out Brows By Hilary because I was looking for a new eyebrow spot closer to home. When I got into the salon, I felt uncomfortable and unwanted. Hilary was quiet so I introduced myself and try to make myself comfortable. I was told to go ahead and lie down. I didn't want to be rude and just put my stuff on table. However; I did it anyway since there were no directions where to put it. She asked me to just explained a little bit about my eyebrows and began the waxing process. There was an awkward silence so we tried to make small talks. I told her that I was recommended by a friend and again making myself feel validated that I chose this person with my eyebrows. I didn't get the customer service treatment as I wanted such as "Oh thank you for coming in.. etc along those line." Hilary did a great job with cleaning my eyebrows. Poor customer service. Hilary is unable and unwilling to work with her loyal customers. I've been going to her for nearly two years now and mistakenly was 15 minutes late to my appointment. She said that she was going to charge me $50 for a no-show when the service was likely going to cost half of that. I had my eyebrows tinted and a couple months late my brows tinted again, lash lift, and lash tint. I love it all. The lash lift and tint is amazing because there's no upkeep or crazy rules like there are with lash extensions. It's your own lashes basically permed to curl upwards so they appear longer.
