Started with a few glasses of wine and a beer, all on point. Then came the food. The mussels were really original. They came in an Italian sausage sauce, thicker than your typical white wine broth, unlike anything I've ever had with mussels before. A little salty, but the mussels themselves were good quality and it came with bread for dipping. For the main, I had the rigatoni with chicken, which had a somewhat similar sauce with great flavors. Both dishes showed some real creativity in the kitchen. But what really sets R Wine Bar & Kitchen apart is the environment. This place has a vibe. I ended up meeting some cool people traveling through from Tennessee and had some of the best conversations I've had at a bar. Really friendly people all around. That kind of atmosphere can't be manufactured. The Verdict: R Wine Bar & Kitchen is the real deal. Great food, great wine, great service from Samantha and Jaxson, and an environment that turns strangers into friends. If you're in Sioux Falls, try it out. Five stars, absolutely worth it.

The atmosphere was lively. A musician was playing the guitar and played my favorite Alicia Keys song. came over and talked to us. She was lovely introduced herself. A very friendly place to spend a Saturday night with friends.

Definitely worth the price tag!…read more My friend and I were craving Italian so we decided to give Maribella a try. We noticed it was fine dining and were ready to see if it stood up to its hype. Upon arriving, we were asked if we had a reservation-- we did. The restaurant has an Italian rustic yet modern style to it. We were promptly seated and assigned a friendly server. We had previously already has cocktails, so we were only there for food and that's what we ordered. I ordered the Nero pasta which is a squid ink pasta, drenched in a creamy lemon-garlic sauce, topped with seared scallions and some cherry tomatoes. The whole dish came together and wow, it was delicious. I believe this has been the best pasta dish I've ever had, well worth the $40 price tag on this. I had left overs for the next day and it was still just as good. My friend ordered the risotto de mare, seafood risotto and her dish was also delicious and was absolutely satisfied. We left Maribella satisfied and hoping to come back!

Open table asks what we are celebrating but there was nothing congratulatory or special of our day there from our waitress. One gentleman Graham welcomed us and did give special love, but he was just our greeter. He even came by walking by after our meal and checked in, he was the best! Our waitress was nice but not the most helpful on wine selections. I wish there was a wine sommelier who could have helped me further on decisions, I ended up with a wine I didn't enjoy unfortunately. I have a gluten allergy and I am so pleased by all the great food choices and allergy flag. For Friday at 6, I wanted the lamb risotto but it was sold out, I ended with the seafood risotto. That was very delicious; had one broken scallop, 3 shrimp and a decent amount of mussels. I think they could have added another scallop and shrimp but so be it. I needed some lemon and red pepper flakes to flavor it up but our waitress took FOREVER to even check on our first bites. I was waving at bussers and no one came by, after about 10-15 min my partner stopped her. My partners and mother's food were very delicious and they were happy with their meals! If gluten free, I would have gobbled that up! The food was good for Sioux Falls but not the most outstanding service. That lacked.

Ethan was an incredible bartender and made an exquisite dirty martini. Seriously, if you love a good dirty martini, don't skip it. One of the highlights of the evening was learning about the building's history and hearing about the upcoming live music that performs downstairs in the cozy speakeasy. It's definitely a reason to come back again. And a huge shoutout to Leo, the waiter, he is the bomb! Friendly, attentive, personable, and he genuinely made us feel welcome. If you're looking for amazing cocktails, great food, outstanding service, and a place with character, Myrtle's is a must-visit. Sorta odd that it is away…read morefrom downtown and out in the shopping suburbs but that also means the clientele is just not dominated by suits and the rest of us can relish the fine service and food. When I visit a classic western steakhouse, I do NOT want the frills of the east. Please. But I do want a western theme interior, friendly faces and service, and generous servings of awesome food. Morrie's delivers on every level. What a great experience! First I liked the family portraits when you walked in. Like in the Big Easy, you know that means that here's a place that takes pride in tradition. Prompt and friendly service came next--GREAT classic old fashioneds. Appetizers, off the charts. We thought the Onion Rings were among the best we have ever had. Brussels sprouts, the same. So impressive. The New York strip--certainly among the top five of all time for me. Do add the onions and peppers, just another layer of great flavor. What is really wonderful is that the beef is locally sourced, from ranches in Nebraska and South Dakota. The pride of local markets really comes through, and makes. A. Difference. Sides? Yes. The root veggies are excellent but always order the chorizo hash browns. They are rich and thankfully they have a bit of a kick. They are filling--but hey box what's left and have for breakfast the next morning. My western trips will now include an overnight at Sioux Falls--that's how special Morrie's is.

I ordered the walleye, and it was very average--nothing memorable or worth the price. It felt like a run-of-the-mill dish that I could get at many other restaurants. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was a strong sewer/trap smell near the entrance, which wasn't the best first impression. While the odor didn't seem to carry throughout the entire restaurant, it was noticeable enough to stand out. The tap beer was also served much warmer than expected, which was disappointing for a steakhouse of this caliber. Overall, the service was the highlight of the evening, but the food, warm beer, and less-than-ideal first impression left us underwhelmed and feeling that the experience didn't justify the price.

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The interior was nicely decorated with a good variety of seating. I grabbed a spot on the couches, but it took a very long time to get any service. Honestly, the service was awful. It really felt like they needed at least two servers on the floor to keep up. We were ignored for quite a while, so I eventually got up and asked for a menu at the bar. When we were finally ready to order, it took just as long to get the drink as it did to get someone's attention. I'm not sure if the bartender was new or overwhelmed, but it wasn't a great experience. On the plus side, the wine list was impressive. I had a Riesling, which was delicious, you can't really go wrong with wine. We ordered a small margherita pizza, and when it arrived, it was cold, heat-lamp for a while sitting cold. Our server (Ben, I think?) never checked in after dropping it off, and honestly, it didn't even feel worth mentioning at that point. We ate and left soon after. It may have just been an off night, but the service was bad enough that I'm not in a rush to give it another try.
