I'm so impressed with Altar'd State. I've been to two other locations in the metro area (Perimeter…read moreand Mall of GA) and had better than normal experience in both stores. This location is no different. First of all kudos to the staff for making every customer feel like they are the most important person in the store. Not only do they greet each and every person as they walk it but they offer to help them find things and if they are sales they let them know what is what...it sounds simple but good ole fashion customer service like this is a dying art....most retail places now just ignore you and hope you won't bother them... the shop has really trendy and high quality clothing, jewelry and home decor...they have etsy like jewelry...you know they look like they are hand made but without the etsy prices...I like their sales aisle which is always filled with great bargains so that you can go home with 4-5 things in your bag without breaking the bank... I have a cousin that I barely know that apparently lives behind this shopping center here...the shopping center is called The Collections at Forsyth https://collectionforsyth.com/ If it weren't for her inviting me to lunch I wouldn't found this place...hope to come back again sometime in the future....

Stopped by the shop for the first time yesterday. We've been to the square in Roswell many times…read more(we live in Johns Creek, so we're really close) but I've never been in the shop before. I didn't even know it was there, its pretty far off the square but we parked so far away yesterday that we walked by it. They had a gorgeous June Cleaver looking dress outside so I wandered up to look at it. I kept moving after seeing the $169 price tag. It wasn't $169 pretty, trust me. On the way back to the car later we walked by and they had put a rack of dresses outside with a sign that said "Buy 2, get 1 free". So I'm thinking great! I might not pay $169 for simple, non-brand dresses but I'll pay $100-$200 for 3 of them. The prices marked on the dresses were ok, still a little on the high side but not horrible, $70-$90 each. I pick out 3 and head to the teeny fitting room that doesn't even have a mirror and try them on. The salesperson was pretty close the whole time (a little suffocating) and as I was trying to discuss the dresses with my partner, after discovering that only one fit, she told me that we would get 1/2 off if we just got the one dress. Great! The dress was marked $85 so I'm totally good with $42.50 for the dress. I still thought it was a fuzz high, serioulsy you could get a similar dress at the mall for ~$30. Just kind of a plain, boatneck cotton tank dress, nothing outstanding about it. I do like to support small business in the area so I'm willing to pay a little more. I am NOT, however, willing to be fleeced. At the register we were charged NINETY dollars. I reminded the associate that the dress was suposed to be half price (this was the same associate that had told me this originally). She proceeds to tell us that its half off the ORIGINAL price of $169!!!! Wait a darn minute, that's not what you said and that's not what the sign said!! We did buy the dress, my partner knew I was on the verge of creating a scene arguing with the sales person so he forked his credit card over before I could refuse. He can certainly afford the cost, I can afford the cost but it was SOOOO not worth $90, how could it have even been $169 to start with? These are not designer or even name brand dresses!! In my closet there are $10 dresses, $20 dresses and even $100 and $200 dresses. But you better believe that if it costs $100-$200 some brand name is going to be on it. I'm now saddled with (no returns) a no-name $90 tank dress. I DO NOT appreciate being fleeced nor do I appreciate deceptive advertising, it just makes for a bad business model. You may have gotten a sale off of me, Bilt house but you lost a woman that could've been a good customer. Seeing your limited selection of clothing at horribly inflated prices you can't afford to be alienating customers that way, I suggest you rethink your methods.

Prices can be steep on certain items, but their sales are good. Plus, you can find unique, artistic accessories if you need to dress up or set off an outfit you already own. The shop also has a fair selection of gift items such as coffee table books, wallets, cuffs, hair accessories, etc.

For Valentine's Day I wanted a couple sweet treats for my lovelies at home and picked out a PB/Choc truffle for my fiancé and two chocolate covered Oreos for my 15 yr old Oreo loving step daughter to be. $1-2 something each and the report was thumbs up for all! Probably not a place I will regularly search for gifts (a little pricey) but it is fun to browse sometimes when I'm on the street to get my hair done at Van Michael.

Is it me or is Midtown starved when it comes to the shopping scene? Outside of going to a mall or…read morestrip mall there is no neighborhood to just walk around and shop. Well this store fills that void. Packing a little bit of everything into a small footprint. If you need to find a present for someone on your way to a dinner party on 14th and Juniper this is your savior. Coffee table books, , chocolates, and even stuffed animals if you are on your way to a baby shower. I have found Midtown branded socks and cocktail books here. The service is always friendly sky and attentive but not pushy. I have been in here a few time and didn't not buy anything. While that may not sound like a good thing it was. I never feel pressured that if I am mot 100% sure I want to get something I should not bother going in. With a constantly rotating inventory visiting frequently is a must. The feel is of a well curated family run museum gift shop!
