Of all the top-notch restaurants and life-bettering small businesses I've found thanks to the legends at YELP, CK Thai Massage might be the best recommendation I've ever been given. Of all time! But seriously, thank you so much CK! (She changed my life.) I had been very sore for a long time after battling some next level health problems. I booked a two hour combination Thai massage appointment based on the positive Yelp reviews which contained details related to sports injuries and scar tissue. I was able to book the appointment with service details through the Yelp app which was super helpful. I found a street spot right in front. Plenty of available places on a weeknight, including disabled spots. I confirmed my appointment and entered the cute waiting room where I was greeted immediately by CK the amazing. CK addressed my health issues straight away and led me to a private room with instructions. I pointed out a few sore spots and said I was recovering from surgeries. CK recommended some additional treatments in consideration of my health goals. I have a lot of scars and broken bones from my early childhood which doctors and massage therapists ask me about and treat gingerly. The medical community is incredibly nice to people with injuries like mine in my experience. CK applied light therapy during the massage and kneeded a therapeutic oil into my sore muscles. She pointed out where I had scar tissue and past surgeries one by one as I nodded, totally impressed and in awe of her surgeon-like skills as as massage therapist. (AMAZING!) I had plastic-like scar tissue throughout my body residual of my health problems. LIfe threatening anemia and severe bone marrow depletion is no joke! CK helped me stretch carefully and slowly while she used different massage techniques to help me with my inflexibility. CK found some severe muscle scarring in my underarm area that I didn't know was there. She first identified it as a surgical site near my lymph nodes but I told her I hadn't had a surgery there. She looked confused and assured me that I had a surgery there. (?!) CK looked concerned about my health during the massage and she paused to show me some areas on my body where I did not have enough or any muscles according to her. CK pointed out an area of my back, which she said was putting a lot of pressure on my joints and ligaments due to my muscle depletion. CK urged me to PLEASE eat five eggs a day and not to worry about the calories because the vitamins and protein were so good for me and my health. Great advice! I felt so much better during and after the massage. I really couldn't believe a single massage therapy appointment could be so helpful and healing. I went for my first swim in several years that night to celebrate how much better I felt and how far I had come. But. To my astonishment, I couldn't swim. This girl, who used to haul a longboard past the biggest breaks, out swimming the strongest men with a heavy kayak, was now in danger of drowning in the shallow pool. My muscles had left me in places I didn't know about. Everywhere miss CK pointed out. And then some. Upon her advice, I decided it was a medical emergency for me to start strength training. I invested my life savings and my heartfelt efforts into lifting heavy weights with professional trainer. (With my stubborn eyes on the prize..) I thought about CK when I made a big pan of egg each day. Even when I didn't want to eat them, I did. I felt better for every ounce of her advice I took. The previous month, I reclined in a chair and my body temperature dropped to a dangerously low temperature. The area in my underarm which CK identified as injured caused me to lose a couple gallons of sweat in an instant after stretching to relieve some scar tissue and swelling in my underarm which relieved some long-term soreness and improved my flexibility. My health recovery has been slower than I expected but I'm better now than I ever thought was possible. CK is a huge part of that outcome for me. My experience with Thai culture has always been health forward and health first. I'm lucky to have made my way here and privileged to be the beneficiary of CK's contribution to my health recovery. If you are sore from that desk job, car accident or illness, get your bones repaired here. Realign your everything with the advice you'll be given by CK herself. CK is so talented. She is truly a master of her craft. You may come in with shoulder pain and she'll find the source of your pain, fix, and find a few more to fix along the way. She has such quality serums and topicals to help get deeper and get you lasting results. I struggled with chronic migraines, hip pain, and weak knees and in one treatment I had significant relief. I'm addicted! I live in LA but come out as often as I can just to see her. I will say, trust the process. Don't let the front entrance fool you. In fact, every time I have driven by when I am in town, I wasn't quite sure what this place was. Was I fooled!!! It is one of the best therapy massage businesses I have ever encountered! I needed a massage in the worst way and had wanted to go to "Missy's" down the street where I live after reading the wonderful reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, or shall I say fortunately, after calling for 3 days and getting disconnected, I searched again on Yelp and found CK! The majority of the reviews were great so I called and Ashley picked up. She was warm and friendly and confident about helping me with my problem. I made my appointment for later afternoon so I could relax after. There is plenty of free street parking and I was able to get "Doris Day," parking. Lol! Right in front! I rang the doorbell and Ashley greeted me with a mask on, checked me in and had me fill out a body chart circling my aches and pains. We then headed back to the massage room which was private. Ashley slipped out while I got ready. She knocked on the door and I told her to come in. She wanted me on my stomach head down to start since my shoulders and upper back were in dire need of help. Ashley then pulled on my feet to adjust my body and took a photo to show me the unevenness! I was horrified. She reassured me my issues were very common and told me that she was going to make me feel much better and went to work. Ashley started with my legs. She worked on my hamstrings that were tight, my buttocks and then my shoulders. Then she had me flip over on my back. Her technique included using her hands, feet and an electric massage gun like product to break down my knots. She explained absolutely everything while she worked on each part of my body. *Here is the thing about Ashley: She has been a CMT for over 10 years and honestly cares about her clients. She went above and beyond for me which I will never forget. She gave me "homework" to help me prevent repeat body offenses! And a plus for all women, an "at home" technique to massage your breasts to keep your lymph nodes open! I was impressed with her knowledge of the human body. CK took into account my injury (and all other prior injuries and surgeries), and started with my legs--explaining that everything is connected. She could easily see and attend to my weak areas, and she finally worked with my shoulder, and I could see a marked improvement by the end of the session. My friend and I were on a girls' trip and felt like this massage would just top off our trip and be a perfect ending before heading to the airport. WE WERE RIGHT. Enter the lovely Fawn, the new onboarding masseuse that has only been there for a few weeks. She was very pleasant and hospitable. My massage was delectable in every way possible ! I was on my way back the the airport and my back and body were hurting from the travel. I'm disabled and walking with a cane due to muscle weakness and pain. They were able to fit me in and I got a full real Thai massage. The space inside is very authentic in what you'd expect from a traditional spot. I've been getting Korean and Thai massages for years. They twist you like a pretzel. Working deep on problem areas. Using a bar up high, they can walk, stand, or put pressure (with careful targeted weight) on deep trigger points to release the tensed up muscle groups in my right shoulder and my left hip that prevents me from walking sometimes. It was an excellent massage. One of the best I've ever received. I left feeling like properly tenderized lol :) Which is exactly as I want when I get a massage. They can do traditional feel good massages too, but if you're in a lot of deep muscle and pinched nerve physical pain like I was, and want more therapeutic and pain relief, go for a Thai massage and let them work their magic. CK is the real deal. I tore some muscles in my calf. I was in a lot of pain and could not put weight on the injured leg. Within a week of treatment, The pain had decreased 80 percent and I started to walk. After 3 weeks of treatment, I was pain free and could walk around our block with no issues. Bit of a mixed review here. We chose this place because it had good reviews, was close to where we were staying, and was much less expensive than the hotel spa pricing. Went in with a friend, filled out the forms, and were each assigned to our massage therapist. I am terrible with names, and I wish I could remember theirs! My guy was a younger African American man with long braids. He was AWESOME! Checked in to make sure the pressure was good (it always was), he did a great job focusing on my tense areas that needed work, and really loosened up the knots. A firm, but still very relaxing massage. Five stars for him! My friend however, was not so lucky. Her gal was an older Asian lady, who spoke broken English. She was nice, but did not give a good massage. She did not listen to requests to change pressure, caused quite a bit of pain. She poked her in the head repeatedly "for headaches" and after being told to be careful on a small sunburned area on her neck, rakes her fingernails over it. Poor girl was crying at the end, was awake in pain during the night, and was hurting for several days after. So ask for the guy!! read more

Leaving extremely upset. We showed up around noon. We were visiting from out of town and saw an "authentic Thai massage". Boyfriend was going to treat me since I've never had one. CK seemed nice enough. She said she was the only one there and that her second masseuse had just left. But she gave us an appointment for 2pm and said she would call the other person to come back. She told us not to eat at least one hour before the massage. So we didn't. We visited a friend for a bit and came back around 1:40. We had a seat in the waiting area and had some water. At 2:00 on the nose, CK came out and informed us that her male masseuse wasn't answering her calls. They usually have others working but one of them was picking up her husband at the airport. The compensation for waiting 2 hours for nothing to happen? A piece of candy from a jar. Offered to make an appointment for another day... we live 2 hours away! My boyfriend was talking about next time we can visit. Not me. That's just straight up bad business. read more

This review is not for the massage service. I called on a Monday morning and left a message. The answering message said that the owner would be checking messages and getting back to callers. I left a second message about 6 hours later in the afternoon. No one called back. Yelp update does say that the store reopened July 1. So on Tuesday, I went to the store itself and it was closed with a piece of paper on door that says that it reclosed mid July. Oh well. It would have been nice to update the reclosing on Yelp so I didn't have to waste my time. Late Tuesday night, I got a text message saying that they are closed. 2 full days later ...
