This place is honestly a ripoff. I went here a few times and enjoyed it. The first time I came they wanted me to come for a consult before booking my appointment (which pre-kids fine but now I would never) which I thought was a little odd because who really has time for that. I moved to another salon to support a friend of mine. Unfortunately she didn't have time for me when I needed my hair done so I reached out to this place again. Their pricing dynamic is absolutely ridiculous. I was told that even if I got highlights or color I would be charged $50 FOR A BLOW DRY. I'm sorry what? You're going to color my hair but then charge me to dry it? How is the stylist supposed to check their work to make sure it even looks good or if I'm happy with it? I visited CKC on the post road to change the overall color of my hair including roots from virgin brunette hair to blonde. I love my hair and the stylists/employees were very nice and again very tentative. My stylist Gina was very careful with my hair and my comfortability because this was my first time experiencing such a drastic change and dying process. The process was lengthy but was also pleasant and enjoyable. Because the people in the salon knew this was my first time and doing this to my hair everyone was so excited to see the final outcome. This salon used to be named Salon Wayne and while they were good, WOW, my experience yesterday was over the top.They offer very high end Keratin treatments, professional cuts, foils, you name it. Shannon is my hair stylist and I would follow her to Egypt as she's just that good. My hair is always perfectly colored (hi and low lights) and the cut, she really knows how to flatter my somewhat "round" face. They also offer hot teas, coffee and water while you are being styled . They other thing I really appreciate is she is always on time with her appointments which is wonderful as we all lead busy lives. I needed a new stylist as my previous stylist was no longer close enough to go to. The individual that scheduled my appointment was so pleasant and helpful and sent me a text confirming the details we discussed and asking for pictures of my current hair and reference photos for what I was looking to have done. After I sending the photos, they replied with an estimate based on the photos and discussion with the sytlist so I could have an idea ahead of time what to expect. When the day of my appointment came, I was nervous about such as big transformation but everyone at the salon was super friendly and welcoming! Aldona, the stylist that did my hair, asked the right questions to understand what I was hoping to achieve and was so thorough in explaining what she could safely do. She was so friendly and pleasant and explained each step along the way. The end results are phenomenal!!! I am so happy with the cut, the color, and my whole experience with CKC! First of all, I feel like a total bum for taking so long to publish a review of CKC salon. I first visited Ella this August and it took me this long to share with the world what a hidden gem her salon is. I was lucky to have CKC Salon recommended to me. I didn't have to search like so many who've reviewed here. Every female member of my family who lives in Fairfield County have been loyal customers of Ella for about ten years and followed her from Darien to her new salon in Fairfield. Even before I relocated from California and long before Ella ever touched my hair, I knew she was an ace with color. My older sister has very dark brown hair and her highlights were always a lovely shade whether she wanted caramel or dark blonde, not a hint of that brassiness that you almost always see when the raven-haired want to highlight. My hair is mousy brown so I have the feeling she could color my hair blindfolded. I don't there's a head of hair out there than can challenge her. Naturally, I am beyond pleased with her cut & color talents. She will even taylor your highlights to your tastes. I told her once to just "free-form it" and I was beyond delighted. Then there are her Brazilian Blowouts--the "K" in CKC is for keratin--and rightly so! I've had Brazilian Blowouts before and was rather non-plussed. I was always aware that my hair was healthier but I never saw a huge difference in frizz or manageability. My hair is just frizzy/wavy by default I figured and was pretty sure I'd never get one again. However I came across a Groupon offering a deal and Ella said she'd honor it even though I'd already been a customer for six months. HOLY COW! My hair came out pin-freaking-straight! I never imagined it could be so straight...I don't even need to take out the round brush or the blow drier. My hair air-dried pin straight. I know, it sounds like I'm grossly exaggerating but I'm not! You cannot get a better keratin treatment...it's amazing. The best part of it all? Ella and her staff are friendly and energetic. She's upbeat, happy to see me always and brightens my day. read more

Alyssa is amazing! I wish I had a photo for what I looked like when I arrived at CKC Salon. Trust me when I tell you that the result was totally transforming! I met Alyssa earlier this year when she filled in for another beautician in CKC's Stamford location. Alyssa continues to work out of the Stamford location one day a week and works out of the Fairfield location on alternate days of the week. I was so impressed with her color work that now I travel 25 minutes up to Fairfield to have my hair done if I'm not going to be in Stamford the day she works in our town. She colored, highlighted and blew dry my hair to result in the photos attached to this review. I have been nothing but impressed with her work. I used Yelp to find a decent salon in the Fairfield area and found this hidden gem right across the way from my job. I must say, that these are the kindest, happiest set of folks I have ever met. They don't try and force a service upon you and they tailor to your every need. They can small talk without making it awkward, and also have small refreshments while you wait! I found CKC Salon while searching for a certified Brazilian Blowout salon. Scheduling online was very easy. The salon inside is so beautiful and chic, I loved being there. All of the staff I met were very friendly. Now on to Ella and what she did for my hair. I have very curly, very long hair, and my Brazilian Blowout was done in 90 minutes. She gave me the hair of my dreams and I can't wait to go back and get it done again. I wish I'd come here sooner.
