I like this spot and there is good energy here. Who doesn't love looking at the flowy long white drapes on the front porch while driving by? A lovely site. Hair cutters all seem to have been there for years. It's like a family and everyone is very nice. Upstairs they have services like massage, facials, makeup and nails. Plenty of parking. And a nice salon setting. Not the usual cold factory feeling one often encounters in standard salons. Yelp deal is a great way to try them out. read more

I returned to the Paul Albert Salon in less than two weeks after Jenn chopped off my hair. This time, I saw Stacey who had the same hair color as me. It was easy to point out her highlights as the color I originally wanted for mine. "You want brown on brown instead of blonde on brown", she says. Yes!! Okay, easy fix with a glaze. As for haircut, I explained that I just want a symmetric cut, even on both sides. She cut the bottom layers off and gave me a blunt bob. She also suggested adding more hair to my bangs because they were too wispy. Not enough given at the front. I appreciate her giving the suggestion to make my bangs look better by adding thickness. She also sat in front of me to compare both sides, which is what a stylist should obviously do, and gave me what I wanted. Like Jenn, she is friendly and bubbly but the difference is that Stacey admitted from the beginning that I do have a lot of hair to work with and because of that, she had to eliminate the massage part after hair washing. Even with no drying and styling, she still had to text her next client that she was going to run 15 minutes late. I understand that I have a lot of hair which is why I always tell receptionists that I have a lot of hair and if they can allot the adequate time. I was okay with Stacey not drying and styling my hair if it meant not rushing to achieve the desired cut and color. I walked out a very happy customer with what I wanted, a blunt bob and subtle caramel highlights that matched the color of my bangs. Overall, I highly recommend Stacey and this salon. From Becca (the receptionist) to the girls at the washing station, this experience was what I imagined getting and Stacey nailed it. read more

If I could simply rate the owner of this place (Paul Albert), I'd give him 10 stars! Nicest guy on the planet--warm, bubbly, loud, hilarious, and very creative. I hate a lot of people, so trust me that's saying a lot. He creates a fun salon "family-style" atmosphere and is constantly redecorating the place to keep it fresh and new. He's been doing my family's hair ever since we moved to the area in 1995...so almost 15 years! We all go--my mom, dad, brother and myself. He cuts, colors, styles, etc. All of our friends and neighbors now go as well. Now that I'm living in Atlanta, I don't usually wait to go to him for my haircut and go locally. I never thought I got an over-the-top stylish haircut here, but it was always a basic good quality cut. I definitely think he's one of the better places in CT, although for some reason everyone thinks Peter Copola is the most trendy. Maybe people should realize that price doesn't equal quality. Do your research folks--some of the stylists who used to work at Peter Coppola now work for Paul Albert, and they charge a hell of a lot less! read more

I started going to Paul Albert Salon over 10 years ago. I was so tired of the other salons in Fairfield County - I'd been a regular at Shahin, then switched to Noelle, but their pretentious attitudes were off the charts. I wanted a salon that offered fabulous services and stylists, without making me feel like I wasn't good enough to be there! I like that everyone at Paul Albert is friendly and attentive - from the moment I walk in the door to the time I leave, I feel "at home" and comfortable. I go to Paul, the owner, but every one of his stylists is fantastic - you really can't go wrong. Arlene is a wizard with keratin blowdrys! And Kathy's (the esthetician) calm demeanor just adds to your experience. I could go on - Jenn, Lea, Maggy, etc., etc. - they're all fantastic, and, in 10+ years, I don't think I've ever seen a client walk out who isn't happy and doesn't look gorgeous! The worst management and service I have ever experienced. Paul, the owner, caters to his "high valued" clients while others like me are left picking up the scraps. I had numerous appointments for haircuts and coloring with Arleene, with no addressed problems. Loving her for who she is and being a faithful client I decided to go to this salon where she works and continued seeing her as a client. After today and the way I was treated by both Paul and Arleene, it left me bewildered. I was treated horrible at the front desk. The business was highly recommended from a family a member and I was a faithful client. The front desk was always rude and not helpful, regardless I still continue going there. The front staff was portrayed as an innocent part of a comprised lie to make the clients at fault. I can take my business elsewhere that would value me and my references more. I thought that my patronage was valued. I was wrong. I recommend looking elsewhere, where your time and money is more appreciated. read more

I found Paul Albert's by following Leah. I have continue to go here because as others have said they treat me like I am important to them. As I have seen everyone gets treated the same. I can usually get an appointment to meet my schedule. And I usually walk out feeling satisfied and looking like I am ready to face the World. Bobbie always gives me a reminder call the day before my appointment which I am grateful to receive as I have been known to forget once in awhile. Leah always makes sure that I am satisfied before I leave. Plus Paul always has the coffee pot on. Love this salon! When I got there for the first time which was last week I parked and saw what looked to be a house. And as I was slowly walking up to it thinking that I misread the address the owner Paul saw me and welcomed me in saying that I was in the right place. And as soon as I walked through the door the receptionist was very nice and had me meet Arlene my stylist and colorist right away. And I have to say that Arlene is amazing! She is a delight to be with! So happy, attentive and so funny!
