We brought him 15 min early explained our situation and YOU would not see him not only that but told us that you wasn't sure if you could do anything and we would have to wait. Terrible service. After we were called back to the room the vet asst came roaring thru the door. First words from her mouth was "is your cat vaccinated from rabies?" I was startled first the way she entered rm, secondly, my cat is 13 yrs, indoor at all times, thirdly, why would you wait and ask when we're there instead of prior to appt? Good grief. The asst said, "I don't care if he's indoors only he could bite me and we won't see him unless he gets a rabies shot." I said not happening, and being bitten is included as part of an animal asst and doctor job. She harumphed and we left. Mind you they saw 2 of my kittens prior and not concerned abt rabies shot. If your pet has any illness or injury, expect to be referred to an emergency vet who will charge you double. I'm changing vets because my 4 year old dog is limping and the first available appointment is July first, over a month out. Unfortunately, the vet took it personally that I questioned her diagnosis, and she has decided that we are no longer welcome at that clinic with our dog. We have put up with schedule changes. Appointment changes very short staffing with grace and a good attitude and one minor disagreement with the vet. It gets us tossed out. I was very nice. I was very professional, but the fact that I questioned her diagnosis caused her To be uncomfortable with our presence. It's been exactly 5 weeks since my last appointment and Dr. Boyle is amazing!!! They doubled my cats medication and my cat went from having multiple asthma attacks a week to not having a single asthma attack. I'm so grateful to Dr. Boyle. No other veterinarian had suggested increasing from one pump to two pumps (daily asthma inhaler) but this small change has made a huge difference in both my pets life and my life. I made an appointment online weeks ago and showed up today and they said because I didn't pay a deposit my appointment was canceled. Pet Parents Beware! Finally getting around to reviewing this clinic, as I had been bringing my dog and cat here between 2018-2022, and didn't want to run into any issues with retaliation when transferring. Overall, my experience was VERY hit or miss. Some of their techs and vets certainly care about their career and the livelihood of your pets, but I have had a few run-ins with specific techs & vets that were very rude and unprofessional. One specific tech was incredibly rude at the front counter, and it didn't even seem like she wanted to work there. I can't remember the vet's name, but she was an older woman that had seen my dog a few times in 2019. I was a broke college student, and my dog needed some teeth extractions, which I scheduled at a different (and much better) clinic that offered the service for almost half the price. She told me that he needed to be scheduled immediately for emergency extractions, and when I informed her that I had scheduled somewhere else because I needed to wait until I could afford the procedure, she YELLED at me, stating "This is not something you can wait for until you can afford!!". While I understand that it may be urgent, not all of us can pull money out of thin air. Also completely brushing off the fact that I had ALREADY scheduled the appointment somewhere else. That specific experience was one of the major reasons why I ended up switching, but there were also other things, like the fact that for a while (have no idea if this is still happening), they were requiring simple nail trims to happen at a full check-up, rather than the tech appointments they previously offered. They cited tech employee shortages, which during the height of COVID I can understand. However, this happened for a few years after the fact. Considering the exam fee was around $100, compared to a nail trim that was meant to be around $25, I found that ridiculous. Additionally, during one appointment, I literally heard the vet in the hallway tell the tech assistant "Can you do the trim, I always quick them" (Quicking is when the nail is cut too short or improperly, causing pain and bleeding). So not only did I pay over $100 for an "exam" (she literally took vitals and asked if I had concerns - when I said no she said "okay! Let's do the trim"), the vet didn't even do the trim herself. Other issues included the steady rise in medication costs (that was one of the perks of staying with this vet, since they can compound their own medications. But, the prices continued to rise, and I found a much better clinic with a reputable team that offered meds around the same cost. Some were even cheaper). Of course, it is now 2025, and I know this clinic previously had a high turnaround rate for employees, so it may be completely different. Just wanted to share my experience for the discerning pet parent that is considering multiple options! read more

I wanted to update this review with the fact that the new office manager, Roberta, is amazing. I think I've been able to get ahold of them more in the last couple months, which may be related, though I'm not sure. There are entirely new doctors here, which isn't a surprise given how the industry's been the last few years. I'm not yet sure how I like working with them, but time will tell. I did want to specifically call out Jay (vet tech), Nicole (lead receptionist), and Roberta (office manager) as being wonderful human beings who truly make my day when I do go to Clackamas Pet Clinic. The review will stay three stars for now, as I would like to still be able to consistently get ahold of them, and working with the new vets is still fresh, but those three individuals needed a special call out. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION Okay so before I start this rant let me clarify that we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but it was honestly too many mistakes for that to happen. If you don't want to read this whole rant long story short is they made too many unbeliveably bad calls that put our dogs well being in danger and kept draining us for money the entire time. Its like they made those mistakes on purpose to bleed us dry. So me and my roommate adopted a German Sheperd Husky mix so hes a pretty big boy. Another disclaimer we know he's not the most calm easy going dog but around humans he is no problem its other dogs where he's reactive. But either way we know he's a handful. The shelter we got him from reccomended clackamas pet clinic as one of the places for neutering so we made an appointment with them. We saw reviews and saw that it had good ones so we decided to trust the internet. Please be advised that this is a WELL PET clinic: spay, neuter, teeth cleanings, shots. This is not a place for a sick animal, especially if you the owner do not know what is wrong with your pet. While they will try to triage it and give the most basic support care if you can get past the front desk, they completely missed the mark with my pet. My guy had surgery with them and was never right, he never recovered. As his condition worsened, the front desk staff refused to give me access to the vet. They wanted to set me an appt down the road, treating me like a was a dramatic pet owner. I finally got him seen by coming in as a walk-in. Then instead of referring to a specialist which my guy desperately needed, they gave him fluids and pain meds, "stabilized" him and sent home. He woke up completely paralyzed in the hindquarters two days later. When I called, desperate because my little guy was paralyzed, I left a message with the front desk person and the vet NEVER CALLED ME BACK. My little guy ended up having to be put down. Going forward, I will seek out top veterinarians in the area and willingly pay for that service. No more low cost clinics for me. My remaining pets will never see the inside of this office again. read more

I will always take my cats here. They take such good care of us. Dr. Montell is amazing. They genuinely care about my animals, have affordable prices, and they are so patient and kind. I was really overwhelmed with my kitten who was having all sorts of problems- three vet trips in a week- they were so patient even when I cried in the office. My fur baby is doing so much better now and I trust them to take him back if he has any flare ups. They also ALWAYS call the next day after a visit- even if it's a routine checkup. They always make sure I don't have any questions and that my pets are still healthy the next day. I don't feel like me or my pets are forgotten about. They let you bring your pet in person. So many vet clinics still make you wait in the car and that scares me when my cat is in resonators distress. Clackamas Pet Clinic let's you come in and I feel like my cat is safe there. Heck, I feel safe there! A new doctor just started there a couple weeks ago- I'm happy that their practice is growing! I will never go anywhere else. read more

The veterinarian performed a spay procedure on two young kittens. One of the kittens began experiencing vaginal bleeding and lethargy afterwards. I brought the kitten back to the veterinarian's office and they asked if they could charge me for the follow-up care. The vet attributed the bleeding to the incision on the outside. They administered fluids to the kitten, but her condition worsened. Later, they called me to charge for euthanizing the kitten, which I did not approve of. However, they informed me that they had already carried out the procedure. read more

I've been going here for years and used to love but it has really gone downhill recently. I'm not sure if its because they were bought out by a corporation or what but they have become impossible to work with. One of the biggest issues is they never answer their phone. I have had to call up to 6 or 7 times before I finally managed to get someone on the line. If you do have to call do it in the morning. Generally I've been able to get a hold of someone at about 8:30 pretty easily but after that get ready to call a dozen times before you finally manage to get through to someone. Never encountered a vet office that was so hard to get a hold of. Their lack of communication between their office staff and the doctors is atrocious. Everytime I called I would be told a different price and a different set of circumstances. And if you try to talk to management about it they will just offer a lame apology and act like they have no idea what is going on, which seems to be the general consensus of this place. Their prices are good however the level of care here has come down as well. If you are just going in for a routine appointment you will probably be fine but if your pet is experiencing any kind of illness get ready for a long and frustrating ride. As other reviewers have pointed out they will do a bunch of diagnostic but not any real answers as to what is occurring. The vets they had previously were wonderful however their newer ones do not really seem to know what they are doing and will give you false or incorrect information. My suggestion is go to a different vet. Even if it is more expensive at least you won't have to deal with the chaos and disarray that this place has become. read more

I took my sweet Sadie Belle in because I saw there was a new owner. Well it was AWESOME! Everyone was just sooooo nice. My Sadie Belle wasn't at all nervous. They were all wonderful. I felt like my dog got top notch attention and treatment. I loved the way Dr. Caldwell made both my dog and I so comfortable. It was like we've known her for years. Great vet, staff, and service I've only been taking my rescued dog, Rupert, here for a month (including a neuter and an infection) but I am so glad I found this clinic. Dr Caldwell has been very patient with all my questions as a new dog-mom, and the staff always greets us well and makes us feel welcome. This place is a joke! Their complete lack of communication between staff to staff and staff to parents leaves you with more questions and uncertainty than answers!? They never answer phone, and takes them hrs, if at all to return a mess. Didn't diagnose or treat the problem with our puppy correctly and generally showed no interest in his healing process. Didn't even write the correct dosage amt on his script and it took over 24 hrs for them to call pharmacy back. Charged a huge amt of money and our poor little guy got worse so we had to go to a different vet. I shouldn't have had to shell out another $400 so our baby could get some relief!!!! But on Wednesday morning when my moms dog needed emergency care, I started going down the list of nearby clinics calling all of them, desperate for anyone to fit her in the schedule and help her. After being shot down by 9 other vets, my 10th and final call was to the wonderful people at clackamas pet clinic who were able to see her right away. Disorganized. Lack of Trained Staff. Poor Customer Service. Confusing/Mixed Messaging. Lack of quality! As much as I want this clinic to be my two dogs' future health care, I do not intend to return to this clinic for any services. Soon after I posted the below review, I saw a bunch of anal gland fluids on my pup who just received the anal gland express less than 24hrs. I do not appreciate the job not being done properly. This shows me this clinic's lack of quality as small as in the technical areas too. ---------------------- Previous review: Recently moved to OR and my first time to this clinic. The clinic has a sign on the door asking all customers to wear masks inside. However, I don't see them reinforcing this with the customers. I would think they would reinforce it for the sake of everyone visiting the clinic. All the pens at the front desk look dirty and unsanitized. Oh I could hate myself not being able to find my own pen in my little purse..... The front desk receptionists need to be trained better and be more organized and not keep their onsite customers waiting long because tending to phone calls first was a priority over customers in their sight. I actually emailed the clinic prior to going in to make sure that I could follow the clinic protocols during COVID19. In their return email, I was told to walk in unless I needed to see a vet. But when I was at the clinic, the young receptionist told me they don't do walk in's and asked if I could make an appointment and come back after 2p. I was a little irritated since I emailed the clinic to double check and was told to come in. AND I have my child and the other family dog waiting in the car for me. I am very confused as a new customer because their website states the clinic doesn't do walk in's but in their return email stated to do a walk in if I don't need to see a vet. The young receptionist told me she is new there but still, she could have made me feel more welcomed by making an effort to figure things out for me and not just leave me hanging and waiting by taking an incoming call. Even if she did what she did, at the end, I didn't see her even mentioning her lack of attention to helping me through instead, she paid more attention to how cute my pup was even at the very end when I was checking out. Though I was finally helped in the end, it wasn't a very pleasant experience especially during COVID19 when I have not wanted to be trapped indoors with strangers. I really prefer a quick in and out experience when we don't need to see a vet. If it weren't for the other more experienced front desk staff who got freed from her own call, ended up helping me and taking care of my pup, I really would have left and not come back.... Our prior vet clinic before moving to OR has only one receptionist and got a voice mail system in place for those calls that came in while the onsite customers are being helped. Maybe this is something this clinic can do to improve their customer onsite experiences. But seriously, Clackamas Pet Clinic got 3 front desk staffs, it's puzzling why they can't be more organized and efficiently help the onsite customers with better customer services. My review is not to ridicule the clinic at all but with the intent for the clinic betterment. I must say when the front desk staffs do interact with their customers whether being onsite, on the phone or in emails, they are friendly and friendlier to the animals that are cute. LOL. They also took care of my pup's anal glands well and clean her up pretty well afterwards. I do appreciate that the clinic took us in so my pup got released from her discomfort. I just saw the one star review about the experience with the vet, the truth is it does worry me... Will that happen to me if I were to continue with this clinic? I got not just one but two dogs. Is this something I'm willing to risk to find out.... I will still give the clinic another try, probably not yet with their vet but with other tech issues, and will update my review according. If this clinic is still not paying attention to better sanitation at the front desk, reinforcing onsite customers wearing masks at all times but still provide services (or they can simply resolve this issue by having some masks available for those who come in without masks), have that many people at once in an enclosed building with door closed, and if front desk staffs still being disorganized and making all incoming calls their top priority, I will not return again. read more

This group looks like they are not supportive of routine services like nail trimming. Possibly good for more major services but not accommodating for less profitable, but consistent, routine service. I've attempted to use CPC for a year and when I can get an appointment they are wonderful. However, the front desk seems to not care about routine services. I asked "Can you tell me how long in advance I have to make an appointment for a feline nail trim?" The response was "technically you can walk in but there is no guarantee how long you will have to wait." Very disappointing and will have to search more accommodating services for both routine and major service. read more

UPSELLING IS ANNOYING. THEIR COMMUNICATION IS TERRIBLE. This is my 3rd visit to this clinic & LAST. I would NOT recommend this clinic. Visit #1. Great Dane - friendliest, sweetest dog on the planet. Both Vet and her assistant would not touch her. Insisted that I remain at her head but when the thermometer was put into her rectum, she looked back in surprise. That was enough for them to conclude hands on contact with my sweetie. She is large (runt of her litter, though) but the sweetest. WTF. I left shaking my head and discussed with my friend- who found it equally confusing and unusual for a vet to not have contact with my dog. Absolutely no attempt from this doctor to engage with my beloved. Visit #2. Two year old feline - mean & a biter but I love this girl. Communication was adequate, but the upsell was annoying. It required me to advise multiple times, that I will not spend over a certain amount. MULTIPLE TIMES. One time should be enough. LAST VISIT #3. Eight month old feline to be neutered. As the assistant continued with her upsell of tests and vaccines, I was clear with what I wanted tested, but the cost was still over the amount I was quoted. I reminded her that I had a coupon for neuter. She acted surprised. Communication is key. Without good communication no clinic is worth returning to. I asked that she acknowledge my issue with their poor communication. She would NOT. Absolutely would not acknowledge my issue, rather she said "please do not get angry with me". I said, "I am not angry at all, this is constructive communication, which is the issue I'm having with this clinic". Again, I said, "please just acknowledge my frustration". She said, "I'll update the cost with your coupon". I again repeated that I was frustrated and would like her acknowledgement of the poor communication. SHE WOULD NOT! I picked up my cat. I was freaked out because I didn't know what was happening to him and they were able to calm my nerves and they took such great care of him. They answered all of our questions, their prices are extremely affordable, and the staff is AMAZING. They saved his life and I'm forever grateful. My regular vet was too busy to get my pup in next day, and she needed to be seen asap, but I was hoping not to have to go to the emergency vet. I called Clackamas Pet Clinic, and they said they were booked, but would squeeze her in anyway. I got an email confirmation of the appointment which was something new to me. Next day I show up with my pup, friendly staff, all wearing masks (covid) and prompt. Jay (i think a vet tech) took me back and took her vitals and took care to get her history and answer all my questions. Dr Woodard came in and they told me their treatment plan. I left my pup there and expected a call when she was ready for pick up. At lunchtime I got a call from Jay, telling me she wasn't ready yet, but that she was doing well, getting lots of attention, and she was a great patient and that he would call in a few more hours. I called twice that day and Dr Woodard answered the phone and answered all my questions! Then when I picked up my dog, Jay was there and reassured me of the care, and he sincerely seemed like he really cared about my dog. They gave me all the necessary meds and walked me through each step. They were even cheaper than my regular vet! All in all, this was a great experience for me given how scared I was for my dog. They handled everything so much better than expected, I may be switching vets. read more

The first time I came here they were amazing, I can't say that about any other time. My kitten was horrible sick for weeks and I invested so much money on different tests for him, whenever the results would come back I would have to call for them to give me the results. After the 4th fecal sample I asked them to print his records off for me but none of his results could be found. He had lost over a pound in a week which he was only about 2.6 pounds in the first place when it all started. They started not answering and ignoring my voicemails. I was desperate and went somewhere else, the other vet helped and got him better within ONE VISIT. DO NOT GO HERE. They don't care about your pets. read more
