Super cute and relaxing breakfast spot with great coffee drinks and egg sandwiches!! We stopped by in the morning to grab a couple of the egg sandwiches they offer on the menu, and found the space inside to be super cute, airy, breezy, and relaxing! It opens out onto the sidewalk and it felt really nice to just hang out there for a bit and soak up the atmosphere. There was just one lady working, but she was very friendly and had our sandwich orders out very quickly, pipin' hot and all! I just had the Clara, which was very hearty and delicious. I split it with someone else, as I personally found it big and filling enough to be shared! Of course, I used Yelp to find this place! It was my last day in CDMX. I wanted a full breakfast. The reviews seemed good. So I took a quick Uber to this place from my hotel. I came hangry and ready to feast. It was not crowded, and I was easily able to get seated. The place is cute, indoor/outdoor feel, with counter seats at the large open windows. With wifi (fyi for travelors). Very chill, with folks on laptops, or with their dogs or kids. Food - I had one combo meal (which includes a breakfast sandwich, oj, and coffee), and then I ordered a 2nd sandwich. Sandwiches, I got the Clara & Claudio. After eating both, I was full. The juice seemed fresh squeezed, which I liked. The combo is a good deal for the price and portion. I liked the runny egg sandwich the best. Service - was slow, but the server was alone. I'm not holding it against them. The server and I made it through with my minimal Spanish in communicating. I think she was surprised that I tipped so generously. Never use their app to order food from them. You would think that they would like to provide a good service to the customers that are willing to use their app so that the Uber/Rappi/Didi fees and charges don't cut into their profits, but no. I order something and after an hour of not getting any food sent my way I called, they hadn't even gotten started marking it. They said they would prioritize my order and send it right away. Great breakfast experience here in Mexico city. The food in this city has been impeccable overall, and i LOVE eating all the mexican breakfast options, but was craving a nice, substantial breakfast sandwich to start off a busy day. Yelp (and some top breakfast lists) online led me to Clara y Ema, which definitely met expectations. There's a solid menu of breakfast sandwiches (with a few more standard brunch options, like french toast) and at least one vegetarian sandwich that was well labeled. We got the veggie breakfast sandwich. The incredibly light brioche bun was a standout factor. The eggs were well prepared (no super runny yolk, which I appreciate), and the cheese and sauce were tasty as well. The caramelized onions that came with it were good, but there were a LOT for a breakfast sandwich (I felt like I needed gum afterward!). The ambiance is lovely - there are some outdoor and some indoor tables and you can order at the counter or a server will come to you if you prefer. The only challenge is that it took a LONG time to eat here - it was a weekend morning and there were multiple people eating (but no super long line or anything), but it probably took about an hour from walking up to the door to leaving, which is longer than I expected to spend on a breakfast sandwich. read more

We stopped in for a late breakfast while staying in Condesa. The staff was really nice and we ordered two Emmas with an Orange Juice and a Cold Brew. The Cold Brew was decent but the OJ was very, very good!! Now onto the sandwiches. The Brioche is insanely soft! It almost doesn't make sense but it's delicious and the texture is like nothing you'll ever have. The caramelized onions were also a very good touch. Small cafe in Condesa.. they are known for their Breakfast Sandwiches! Nice menu with like 7 sandwich choices as well as other items such as Papaya Bowls & Pan Dulce. Sandwiches are served on Artisanal Brioche rolls and are outstanding! I would go with the specialty of the house here; the Clara. We ordered the Clara and the Claudio sandwich, latte and orange juice. The chipotle sauce inside was the cherry kn top. The staff were friendly and kind and the food was made so quickly and was superfresh. The egg in the sandwich was cooked to perfection, the BRIOCHE WAS AMAZINGLY SOFT. Like I've never had a brioche this soft. Cheese was delicious. Clearly I loved it and wish it wasn't 3000+ miles away from my favorite breakfast sandwich in literally the world. A healthful choice to start the day with an impressive breakfast sandwich that gave me a little meat, a little huevo, and a little avocado (which has oleic acid, a healthy type of fat your body needs to stay lean and athletic). I had a head cold, and so came in out of the morning chill for a little strength. The morning I came, the orange juice wasn't fresh squeezed (no doubt a post-holiday rush lapse) and the sandwich I ordered (Clara) said it had cheese, but mine came without. Likely a graceful assumption since I had ordered an avocado add to the sandwich. Two squeeze bottles of house made sauce provided a little heat. The bacon they used was floppy and lacked aroma or flavor. A little spice rub should do the trick with a longer render time. The bun could have been a bit smaller for the content. Proportionality affects flavor. The yolk of the egg was perfectly salted and cooked so it remained fluid, to provide a luxurious sauce and cholene, a beneficial chemical for the body that comes in yolks when they are still liquidy. I could see the sandwich benefiting from a few leaves of a lightly dressed (fresh lemon juice, evoo, salt, and peppercorn) spicy green, such as arugula. Overall, a good place to go to start the day.
