I'm hoping the construction will improve a variety of things for Clarion Inn. Let's begin with the fact you have to lift the toilet lid for the bathroom door to close ....then the continental breakfast that has two items that are gluten free-a banana and a yogurt. The parking lot is shared with another hotel so parking is slim pickings! So the good stuff: it's a suite with a bed in one side and a couch and sofa etc in the other side... could be a 3 or 4 someday but until there's a big upgrade on the laboratory we will go with 2

Finally fixing the problem after they kick us out for complaining about it.

Horrible experience and very unprofessional staff! 1st off we are both handicapped and we get a room at the back of the hotel. In the first 24 hours our key fails to work at either the back door or the room door 8 times. 8 times we had to walk yo the front for new keys. When my husband finally has enough and gets angry with them the night manager Deb gets offended. Deb knows my family im in town to see and she calls my dad because her feelings are hurt. Im a 40 year old woman! So when I call Deb to see what's going on and I ask her how many times do we need to locked out before getting upset she hangs up on me. I called back only for her to kick us out. I never once raised my voice or cussed at this woman. I've never been so disrespected by a business in my life! Please do your self a favor and stay somewhere else!

Ok so there are HOTELS and then motels and in between are the Inns and Lodges. For a Clarion Inn, affordable lodging, this was awesome and I'm giving them a 5star rating which I have never really done even in hotels. Here's why- Staff-great Rooms-clean Beds were comfy Water pressure- full pressure Free WiFi- unsecured so that's not good Free Hot Breakfast- not fancy but tasted great and a lot of choices Heated pool Pool tables and Foos ball table You can get rooms where you have a front door and back door to parking lot- that comes in handy unloading.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

PICK ANOTHER HOTEL IN GRAND JUNCTION, CO…read more================================ If I could have cancelled at the last minute I would have. We arrived late afternoon on August 2nd after driving all the way from L.A. in one day. Strike #1 - When we pull into the driveway it looked like a guy on drugs was playing on one of the parking lot security gates. The ones that raise and lower for you to go past. We told the clerk at the front desk, but we were concerned about my car after that. Strike #2 - Located right next to the Convention Center. If they have big events there it will be really loud if your room is on that side of the hotel. We could hear loud noise until late at night. Strike #3 - The hotel is dingy and really needs to be renovated. It's a step up from the one in Cherry Creek/Denver, but still bad.

Every time we stay in GJ we have stayed here in the recent times. Tried a few other properties…read morebefore and always ended up here. Fairly quiet, decent breakfast, great staff with awesome customer service. Love the location too, easy access to all the Main Street restaurants and shopping. The pool and gym were small but clean and we had an opportunity to use both this time when we stayed over the Labor Day weekend. Love the dual waffle makers and two different waffle batters as well. Overall the food was ample and tasty. Nothing super fancy but definitely checked all the breakfast items. The only thing was that this is not a newly remodeled location so some items might be a little bit worn down. The mirror in our bathroom had some rusty spots in the corners, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom looked a little bit puffy, like the plywood had moisture damage... We stayed in a double queen and one of the beds is slightly lumpy/uneven, we got the same feedback from another couple who stayed in a king room. The linen smelled and looked clean, no hair, no dust on furniture... overall I think the cleanliness was there, just need a refresh with maybe an update/remodel order from HQ. All the employees were kind and easy to work with. We had a situation with another couple in our group where their door battery went out, they were able to open the door and provide another room in a jiffy, and helped them with a little discount due to the inconvenience where they didn't have to do that. We're grateful for the overall experience and will definitely be back again when staying in GJ next time.
