I stayed here recently and decided to give it a solid four stars primarily because of its beautiful surroundings. I did notice that the hotel itself is very dated and really looks like it needs a total remodel, as almost everything from the decor to the fixtures feels like it was left in the 1990s. However, I found that the property is really nice and sits in a great location overlooking a golf course. Because I was lucky enough to stay in a room on the golf course side, I thoroughly enjoyed the view, which was quite peaceful and scenic. While the interior of the building definitely needs to be brought into the modern era, the lovely outdoor setting and the quality of the view made for a very pleasant stay despite the aging accommodations. read more

Stayed here passing through and got in about 7:30PM so decided to also eat here at the restaurant. Service and staff were all 5 stars! The room needed updating majorly as did the bathroom. The shower had no draining of the water the food was bar food all served on. paper plates like your at a potluck. Beer on tap was served in plastic cups and slim Pickens on beer selection. The parking lot is a hike to the main lobby door by it is super easy to get off and on the highway with this hotel. Needs major renovating read more

No fridge, no microwave and no offerings of any sort of free continental style breakfast other than the restaurant which is a $15 buffet to make up for the lack of fridge or microwave. Downstairs is a catfish for sure. You think you're getting a nice room by the nicer looking lobby area, but no, you're transported to the 1970's with the essence of stale cigarette smoke lingering. Gut the place. Start over, or at the very, least splurge on a mini fridge. read more

Very clean and well designed. Huge room with even larger than most bathroom. We enjoyed this stay so much after a long day of travel. Breakfast was also pretty good. Staff were very helpful. Only thing that was off was getting into property. State road layout was confusing and poorly designed. Other businesses were also affected by this. Properties and egress into them were very difficult to figure out at night. Would definitely recommend and when in the area stay here again. Thought I rated this place last time but I didn't. Going right down the middle because while the staff is always super friendly this hotel is in a desperate need of an update. The rooms look like something 20+ yrs old and while always clean neglects some of the modern features like convenient places to plug in your phone. My last 2 visits the tub doesn't drain right and they needs to come fix. Inside they have a great little bar and restaurant area that I have enjoyed each time. The severs and bartenders are also always very nice. Gym is ok and like the hotel a little outdated. They do have an outdoor pool that have seen people enjoy. The only thing holding this back from being great is an update to the rooms and amenities. Won't stop me from staying here and really because of how friendly everyone is. read more

No, no, no...find another place. We stayed here for 2 nights because we were visiting some friends. I only choose this location because it was close to another set of friends that were staying near this hotel. Only perk is the closeness to the airport; that's about it. That staff was very nice and the hotel manager was pretty responsive when I reached out to him via email after my stay. The lobby and restaurant area was also very clean looking. Now the downside. We stayed in the king suite with jacuzzi. Walking up to the front door I was already getting disappointed because there was pet hair all over the carpet. The room was a good size but it's in big need of a complete update and maintenance. The jacuzzi was old and beat up (I didn't even want to get in it). They sliding closer mirror had a massive crack in it. The sofa and carpet was badly stained and the office chair had cracks all on the leather. Icing on the cake: they charge to park your car!! Cmon, it's grand junction, not NYC/San Fran/LA. The manager was kind enough to issue a $50 refund. I accepted it but it wasn't even close to what the nightly rate should have been given the condition of the room. There were better options closer to the old town Main Street. Honestly this may have been one of my worst stays at a hotel for the cost. Two nights $285 per night. Absolutely no shampoo, no lotion, no conditioner, no body wash, no tissues ---- everything was empty. Not sure why the hotel staff couldn't have filled the bottles, it's like they just do the minimum. The second day the housekeepers came into the room and left mints on the bed but they didn't make the bed, almost like the tossed the mints on the bed randomly, didn't fill the empty bottles or anything else. Why are they in our room if they are not cleaning it? read more

**PARKING ISSUES!** I find it misleading to be *required* to pay for security at your hotel. When I asked about alternatives, staff told me there was no free parking on the premises and suggested parking at the airport and taking a shuttle. The front desk also stated that the mandatory $12 fee was explicitly for security. Why is hotel security my financial responsibility? Adding to the frustration, the parking permit I received after paying states: *"DoubleTree Grand Junction shall not be responsible and assumes no liability for any damages arising from, but not limited to, fire, theft, vandalism, or loss of any vehicle or article left therein."* If the hotel takes no responsibility for my vehicle's safety, then why am I paying $12? I put in a reservation for one night and later signed up for another night. They did not combine the reservation but instead locked me out of my room until I reregistered for another day....in the same room, mind you. The television is a joke. You have to sign in to streaming services to watch. Duh. The ice machine on our floor was out of commission. This place is dated, move on. read more

We have been Hilton honors members for almost 15 yrs, and this has been by far the worst experience we've had. 1. check-in was not great - did not feel like a guest 2. No water at check-in (only in room) 3. Lobby was not nice. 4. Hallway looked unswept/room not much better 5. No fridge in room. 6. Toilet was loose. 7. Spigot on tub was loose and not pointing the right way. 8. Coffee maker wasn't cleaned out. 9. When leaving asked for water and was turned down again. 10. Almost forgot, you have to pay $12 for parking in a parking lot that has very faded lines and was completely chaotic because no one knew where to park. Cars were all over the place. I understand paying for parking in a city like Chicago or we had to pay in Asheville. That is understandable but out in the middle of nowhere Grand Junction it seemed ridiculous, and the parking lot was or did not feel safe. In summary - I do not understand how this place can even be called a Hilton nothing about it seemed like a Hilton property. I would highly recommend going elsewhere! If I could, I would give it no stars. read more

We were very happy with our stay here. We came to this specific hotel for the amenities and had access to all advertised (save for jacuzzi which is under repairs, but that's ok... it was 90-100 degrees so we didn't miss it). The rates were reasonable. The rooms did the job; walls weren't too thin and neighbors were respectful. Front row views of multiple fireworks displays over the holiday weekend (multiple nights). Some from the golf course adjacent to the property. The staff is BEYOND amazing and hospitable. I was traveling with my daughter for our first time just us and they were all so wonderful with my overly chatty and inquisitive girl. They worked together to take care of her at the breakfast buffet and make her feel at home the entire stay. Prior to checking in (on the way to the hotel), We called and asked if rooms had refrigerators. We found out our room did not but there were some which have refrigerators upon request and if available. They went ahead and found us a room with the fridge without my asking further. They could have easily just told us "no" and never gone the extra step of changing our room to one with it, so I'm grateful for this next step taken toward customer service. They were equally patient and warm with a chaotic me at times. I even lost a very important piece of jewelry and it was recovered within a few minutes of my reporting it missing, thanks in part to an amazing honest hotel guest, but the staff was easy to approach about it and handled it professionally and with kindness. I also lost my room keys and credit card (same day; clearly a chaotic one), and they were awesome about issuing new keys and working with me on changing over payment on file. No attitudes, no difficulty. The one reason for 4 stars is that the pool didn't appear to be cleaned throughout our stay and by the end of the 4 days, it was REAAAALLLLY murky and sketchy. Also, the rooms were fine and certainly not unsanitary or anything, but you could tell it wasn't deep cleaned prior to our stay (leaf debris under bed skirt, dust in closet, dirt or something on wall and bathroom curtains). No big deal, just not super pristine. We'll definitely return just for the experience we had with the staff and feeling so welcomed/at home. In a day and age where customer service and hospitality are nearly extinct, Doubletree GJT stands out as the model. read more

The person at the front desk, Donna Jo, was definitely inconvenienced as displayed by her rude attitude and tone. If I hadn't spent eight hours driving I would've gone somewhere else for the evening. Stayed at this Doubletree for 3 nights for business. On a positive side, the staff were mostly friendly and it is very convenient to the airport and right off I-70. Now the rest. 1 of the 3 elevators was down the entire stay and we saw no work being done on it. Tv in my room worked 1 out of the 3 days. The shower was also an issue as it was either really hot or ice cold. Very hard to find a good temp. Beds were ok and they had down as well as down alternative pillows but the bed wasn't as comfortable as most other Hilton properties. Carpet in my room was in need of a good cleaning or possible replacement. It's also crazy that they charge you $12/night to self park in their lot which is in need of surfacing. Food was pretty good in the Bistro for breakfast but it was a bit disorganized getting seated. The breakfast buffet is not worth the price though for such limited items. Overall, it's not a bad property, but like others have said, they really need to update the decor in the rooms and give the place a deep cleaning. They have a lot of business but haven't really kept up on PM. Considering the price, I didn't see the value. read more

After a long road trip, we checked in and found out there was no hot water.Called the front desk and was told that it would be back in the morning at the soonest. My family and I took cold showers. We were assured we would be credited $100 for our stay. In the morning, hot water was back on. During checkout, they removed $12 parking but not the $100 we were promised. We asked if the pet fee could be removed instead and was told since it was posted last night, it could not? Didn't seem honest, but didn't want to argue. They also said that due to us booking through Priceline, they could not refund us anything beyond the parking fee. We also had a giant stack of dirty towels and sheets laying on the floor in our hallway the entire night. We were very dissatisfied with the way our situation was handled. read more

Stayed here again. This time long enough to enjoy the amenities. Parking lot fairly empty. I still am amazed that they charge $12 a day to park instead of for your whole stay. The breakfast was average. But Tanya our waitress was great. She was personable and friendly. The gym had water bottles, towels, hand sanitizer and hand wipes. The pool was warm from the heat of the day but not heated. The hot tub popular but since we went down later in the evening not crowded. They do provide towels but were out the first evening. Another bather called from the phone by the gym to request more. I had a towel from the room so I wasn't concerned. It did get cool but I alternated between the pool and hot tub. A short but good swimming session. And the hot tub was nice on my sore from sitting muscles. We enjoyed our time by the hot tub and pool. Relaxing after long excursions. Pleasant stay this time too. The pillows weren't great and I woke with a kink in my back. But the room was large and and it was a nice 'base of operations.' read more

It is always sad to see a property take such a dive in all aspects. It leaves you wondering what went wrong in the last 15 or so years, as we have stayed here each of those years while traveling. Although things seemed a bit rocky there the last time we stayed we decided to see if things had improved. Sadly they have not, from the check in of a less than friendly desk clerk, to a very tired and dirty room. The breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be desired and would be best to eat at another establishment. We travel a lot and mostly extensively with the Hilton brand. Sorry that this hotel does not live up to the quality, service and cleanliness we have grown to expect with their brand. Love to see a once A+ hotel refurbished and perhaps worker moral restored. read more

We normally stay at Hilton branded properties and are in the top tier of the loyalty program. This trip was a 4 day stay and it just didn't go well. First off, the toilet in the room has to be flushed about 10 times for anything to go down. We asked them to fix this and they may have attempted to, as it appeared to be better on day 2. Now to housekeeping..... ever since Covid they don't automatically do it and it is "on request". We are frequent customers so we are familiar with that, but this time, when we requested the full housekeeping cleaning on our third day, they just left a stack of bedding in the bed, took no trash and cleaned nothing. So we spoke to the desk about that and they assured us it would be done the next day. Also we told them the toilet is no longer flushing.... So we went to the hotel breakfast and spent a ludicrous amount of money for terrible food that made our stomachs ache something awful.... That 80 dollars is never gonna come back :( So at the end of the day we had been out traveling around the local area and got back to the hotel around 930 at night expecting to at least come back to a cleaned room with towels and stuff... and a working toilet. Guess what? Nothing was done. Toilet still broken, no towels no sheets no trash removed.... Literally nothing done. But they left a QR code to tip the housekeeping person.... What a joke. I usually stay about 20-40 nights a year in Hilton properties, please do better! This has been a rough one. read more

Richard the shuttle driver is amazing and is why we stay here! We live a couple of hours away and come to Grand Junction the night before for early flights and we always stay at the Double Tree because of Richard!! He is always early, has the van warming up, is so helpful with the bags, and makes you feel so good as you head on your way. Everyone else is wonderful too and the warm cookie is a hit! read more

Front desk employee acknowledged the issues and promised it would get done, well it never happened. My husband and I stayed here for one night. Unfortunately the rooms are very outdated. The couch and chair in our room had stains and were old. Carpet very old. The bathroom and bedding was clean. The shower has good water pressure. The staff was very good and friendly. Their restaurant was pretty good. As always, the cookies were delicious. The only thing we saw updated were the elevators which were nice. We won't stay here again until it's updated. read more

The hallways smell bad and the carpets are clearly stained. The room had a fair amount of dirt and damage, including damage to the door which indicated a previous break-in may have happened. It was clean enough, but outdated, old, walls are paper thin and what irked me about this place, is they charged me something like $15 bucks to park.... in a HUGE wide open with 1000 empty spaces parking lot. My dad and I stayed here on our way through CO on a recent cross country trip. I made our reservation on the Hilton Honors app, and opted for electronic check in and electronic keys which are awesome. There was convenient parking close to the elevators inside, and getting to my floor was a breeze. The room was decent, clean and well appointed and not too dated. We had some honors check in coupons for drink specials, and decided after 13 hours of driving to get room service instead of going to get something. Ordering food was easy, and prices were high but not unreasonable for the speediness. Food itself was ok, nothing too exciting. The drink menu was good, with lots of options. The shower was pretty puny though, with very low water pressure, and the towels were pretty scratchy. The bed was comfy but the sheets on the bed were really not soft, almost like sleeping on paper. Even though it was the fourth of july week, the hotel was pretty quiet, and very little road noise. Not a bad experience, not a stand out experience either. Prices were decent, using the app was very convenient, and the location close to the main highway was a huge selling point for making my reservation. Warm cookies are a doubletree signature, but these were somehow really bland compared to ones I've had at other doubletrees. Overall, solid 3/5 stars. read more

We stayed here the weekend of the Colorado Mountain Wine Festival and we payed a premium for the most busy weekend in Grand Junction. I've taken a few stars off in relation to the price we specifically paid and the value of the hotel. I think it would be a better value if we hadn't been charged such a premium. It is an older building and could use some updates like the lobby has had. For example, the elevators are older, the carpet and drapery in the hallways are out of date and stained. A few renovations would go a long way. The room was also a little dated but very clean and that's what is most important to me. We couldn't hear our neighbors above us or to the sides; good insulation is always appreciated within hotels. I had forgotten tooth paste and we need a few extra towels which were promptly brought to our room upon request. Rooms were tidied each day with restocks on coffee. There was no microwave or mini fridge in our room and I'm unsure if this can be requested ahead of time. There was a safe and coffee maker. read more

Back down to the front desk to get new keys on a different floor still carrying our language. Pay for parking is ridiculous. $25. Huge parking lot, only partly filled. Outdated, loud highway noise, room supposedly was "clean" but found a tobacco pouch that was in someone's mouth before our stay on the floor near a trash can in our room. Disturbing and disgusting!!! No shower pressure in the rooms and mold at the top of the shower. Room was 738. The shower valve even goes in the wrong direction along with their room numbering system. Oh and nobody wears masks except the staff here. I mean nobody except my family. I don't get it. If my children catch Covid, I know where they caught it from. They aren't old enough to get vaccinated. Place is less than one star. read more

We stayed overnight at this location before catching a flight. This location is excellent, right off the 1-70 freeway and a 5 minute drive to the airport. Service was very good, and the breakfast was tasty and service was good. As a Hilton Honors gold member we got free breakfast and it was a well-appointed buffet and you could also order an omelet. The rooms were comfortable and have a nice view of the mountains. The price was also reasonable, especially compared to nearby Glenwood Springs. read more
