Thought I rated this place last time but I didn't. Going right down the middle because while the staff is always super friendly this hotel is in a desperate need of an update. The rooms look like something 20+ yrs old and while always clean neglects some of the modern features like convenient places to plug in your phone. My last 2 visits the tub doesn't drain right and they needs to come fix. Inside they have a great little bar and restaurant area that I have enjoyed each time. The severs and bartenders are also always very nice. Gym is ok and like the hotel a little outdated. They do have an outdoor pool that have seen people enjoy. The only thing holding this back from being great is an update to the rooms and amenities. Won't stop me from staying here and really because of how friendly everyone is.

No, no, no...find another place. We stayed here for 2 nights because we were visiting some friends. I only choose this location because it was close to another set of friends that were staying near this hotel. Only perk is the closeness to the airport; that's about it. That staff was very nice and the hotel manager was pretty responsive when I reached out to him via email after my stay. The lobby and restaurant area was also very clean looking. Now the downside. We stayed in the king suite with jacuzzi. Walking up to the front door I was already getting disappointed because there was pet hair all over the carpet. The room was a good size but it's in big need of a complete update and maintenance. The jacuzzi was old and beat up (I didn't even want to get in it). They sliding closer mirror had a massive crack in it. The sofa and carpet was badly stained and the office chair had cracks all on the leather. Icing on the cake: they charge to park your car!! Cmon, it's grand junction, not NYC/San Fran/LA. The manager was kind enough to issue a $50 refund. I accepted it but it wasn't even close to what the nightly rate should have been given the condition of the room. There were better options closer to the old town Main Street. Won't be back.

Honestly this may have been one of my worst stays at a hotel for the cost. Two nights $285 per night. Absolutely no shampoo, no lotion, no conditioner, no body wash, no tissues ---- everything was empty. Not sure why the hotel staff couldn't have filled the bottles, it's like they just do the minimum. The second day the housekeepers came into the room and left mints on the bed but they didn't make the bed, almost like the tossed the mints on the bed randomly, didn't fill the empty bottles or anything else. Why are they in our room if they are not cleaning it?

Stayed here again. This time long enough to enjoy the amenities. Parking lot fairly empty. I still am amazed that they charge $12 a day to park instead of for your whole stay. The breakfast was average. But Tanya our waitress was great. She was personable and friendly. The gym had water bottles, towels, hand sanitizer and hand wipes. The pool was warm from the heat of the day but not heated. The hot tub popular but since we went down later in the evening not crowded. They do provide towels but were out the first evening. Another bather called from the phone by the gym to request more. I had a towel from the room so I wasn't concerned. It did get cool but I alternated between the pool and hot tub. A short but good swimming session. And the hot tub was nice on my sore from sitting muscles. We enjoyed our time by the hot tub and pool. Relaxing after long excursions. Pleasant stay this time too. The pillows weren't great and I woke with a kink in my back. But the room was large and and it was a nice 'base of operations.'

Dated interior, clean enough but not great. Very expensive. Paid self parking. $50 pet fee. Bad area right next to a pot store.

The location is excellent - it was just two small blocks from the restaurant we planned to have dinner at so we were able to walk over. The hotel is welcoming and has a multi-faceted lobby area with individual seating for people needing privacy while they work, casual seating with tables, food for sale and even a pool table. They also have a workout room. Lots of amenities just on the first floor. Our room (403) was clean and comfortable. But I was woken up numerous times during the night to footsteps overhead and general settling noises from the rooms around me. Bottom line...the walls and ceilings/floors are paper thin. This is the reason for my rating. Aside from this, the place is excellent. So if you sleep hard and would enjoy all the amenities and location, this is the hotel for you.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

PICK ANOTHER HOTEL IN GRAND JUNCTION, CO…read more================================ If I could have cancelled at the last minute I would have. We arrived late afternoon on August 2nd after driving all the way from L.A. in one day. Strike #1 - When we pull into the driveway it looked like a guy on drugs was playing on one of the parking lot security gates. The ones that raise and lower for you to go past. We told the clerk at the front desk, but we were concerned about my car after that. Strike #2 - Located right next to the Convention Center. If they have big events there it will be really loud if your room is on that side of the hotel. We could hear loud noise until late at night. Strike #3 - The hotel is dingy and really needs to be renovated. It's a step up from the one in Cherry Creek/Denver, but still bad.

Fairly quiet, decent breakfast, great staff with awesome customer service. Love the location too, easy access to all the Main Street restaurants and shopping. The pool and gym were small but clean and we had an opportunity to use both this time when we stayed over the Labor Day weekend. Love the dual waffle makers and two different waffle batters as well. Overall the food was ample and tasty. Nothing super fancy but definitely checked all the breakfast items. The only thing was that this is not a newly remodeled location so some items might be a little bit worn down. The mirror in our bathroom had some rusty spots in the corners, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom looked a little bit puffy, like the plywood had moisture damage... We stayed in a double queen and one of the beds is slightly lumpy/uneven, we got the same feedback from another couple who stayed in a king room. The linen smelled and looked clean, no hair, no dust on furniture... overall I think the cleanliness was there, just need a refresh with maybe an update/remodel order from HQ. All the employees were kind and easy to work with. We had a situation with another couple in our group where their door battery went out, they were able to open the door and provide another room in a jiffy, and helped them with a little discount due to the inconvenience where they didn't have to do that. We're grateful for the overall experience and will definitely be back again when staying in GJ next time.
