Everytime I visit my parents in nearby Palisade, I stay at Econolodge on Horizon Drive just off I-70. Horizon Drive is the main access to the Grand Junction airport north of I-70 and an almost direct access south to downtown. Rates are always reasonable. This time, I reserved thru Expedia and got my room with a queen bed for $88 each for 2 nights and my 3rd night for $63 + the various taxes. They accept pets, but charge a stiff deposit I have never needed to change rooms. All inside doors to the rooms. The breakfast space is simple, but several local restaurants are nearby. read more

The outside looked old. The lobby looked nice. Check in was easy. We were given room 101 which was right on the corner and so there were three doors that constantly slammed right by our room door as people came in and out. The vending and ice machine were right outside our door too so things were loud. I'd ask for a different room next time. There is no carpet on the first floor and our large dog is afraid of hard flooring so we had to keep his shoes on the whole time so he could get around the room and in and out to go to the bathroom. The room looked to be an accessible room. It was spacious. Though if someone uses a wheelchair, I could see some obstacles - The opening between the toilet and the sink is slim so it would be difficult to fit a chair between them. The toilet paper is hard to reach from the toilet for anyone. It's a tub so you'd need a shower chair. There is a railing in the shower. We had a king sized bed that was really very comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave and coffee pot. Some things in the room looked updated. Newish paint and floors. We liked the decor on the room walls. (See photos). The room was clean. Great water pressure in the shower. Water leaked out past the shower curtains onto the floor way too easily. The floor was soaked. The bathroom drain made weird noises on and off. Not sure if it was the shower, the sink or the pipes. The air condition worked well and helped to drown out the door slamming sound a bit. Which happened all morning long. We didn't check out the Continental breakfast because there is rarely anything we can eat at hotels. We eat healthy, plant based diets. You'd think it would be easy enough to offer sourdough bread, fresh cut fruit, dairy free oatmeal, potatoes without butter. I'd stay again if we passed through. Love that they are dog friendly. read more

I was a little trepidacious about this place due to noise complaints in other reviews, but I gave it a try due to it being the only property in the area to take Choice points at the lowest rate (in winter, probably not once the Outdoor Brooos start descending though). As it turns out it was very quiet, so much so I even extended my stay a few nights. During that time there was a rotating cast of people on both sides of me every night, yet I never had one noise issue. I wonder if the noise complaints had conjoining doors (always try to avoid those things y'know). Good king bed in the room, slept great. Good TV, good wifi. 24 hour coffee and good tea in the lobby. The only downside is that there's basically no amenities at all - no laundry, just a bag o' sugar for breakfast. I'd also swap out one of the lounge chairs in the room (2 for some reason) for an office chair of some sort, there's a table but really no comfy way to work at it. There's also enough room for a small computer desk in addition to the table, that would be nice. One side note is it's another one of these TV setups in Grand Junction with a weird preview channel situation, in this case go to 10-1 and 48-1 for the listings, but the broadcast channels are hidden between 10 and 30 with no menu listings. read more

This is not the Ritz Carlton and it doesn't try to be. People staying in Grand Junction are likely just passing through to somewhere more important. Therefore they just need a place to sleep, poop, and shower, and it serves this purpose well. Staff was friendly, room was clean if not a little tired, and even the continental breakfast was decent, all for the low price of $68 per night. Eh... that's about as good as my review will get. I was not impressed with this dated motel. The front desk person was very friendly, but cleanliness of the lobby and room was questionable. The three things I was most concerned about (carpet, bed, and bathroom) got a 2 out of 3 - Carpets were gross... slippers worn the entire time! The beds were squeaky but comfortable. Small note: bathroom lights do not turn off in room 122... so you have to close the door when you sleep. read more

Headed home to LA from Denver for the holiday. Going off of the great reviews we decided to book the Econo Lodge for our one nights stay in Grand Junction - and the reviews could not be more spot on! A welcoming hotel with friendly staff, clean and pristine, rooms were cozy with a comfortable bed and the price was right!! Plus, the Italian restaurant across the parking lot hit the spot, nothing fancy - just good, home cooked food. I would stay here again! The cleaning lady is doing a great job! My room was basicly spotless! You will not have to compromise price for a clean room here! The hotel is not perfect because it is an older hotel but if you value a clean room this is the hotel for you! The breakfast was mostly cereal, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs... nothing to instagram about but definetly appreciated! Brief Interactions with Staff - all were friendly. Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Spacious- we had a king bed room. Surprisingly quiet even though it's off the main highway. I have no idea how this place got so many positive reviews and won an award for cleanliness. I can tolerate a lot, but smells...nope. We had our dog with us so we were doomed to a room that had previous pets. The room smelled musty and dirty, my dog was even appalled at the smells. The bedding had stains, there was dirt on the walls, all surfaces were dirty, the floors were dirty and the fabric chairs looked like dogs had rolled on them. Seriously, if you're going to allow pets, you can't have fabric chairs. Cleanliness in a hotel room is the most important thing for me. I don't need any special amenities and can sleep just about anywhere, just not in filth. Do not be lured into the cheap price of this place, you will regret it. read more

This place is right of the freeway and I must admit that I was a bit worried at first because I booked this as a 2 start hotel off priceline. I loved my stay! There is a gas station right in front if you want snacks. The parking is plentiful. The staff is just unbelievably friendly. Chad welcomed me at the front desk and was super friendly. He upgraded me to a better room and told me about the basics of the hotel. The room itself was extremely clean, spacious, and just fantastic. The bathroom was clean, shower is great, lighting sufficient, beds and pillows are very comfy. I have no complaints whatsoever and was excited after my wonderful sleep. The is complimentary breakfast in the morning with cereal and waffles. It isn't that large of a selection but I was satisfied. I met Conrad while reading breakfast and he was just an absolute pleasure. A model person and image of what all Econo Lodge employees should be like. Econo Booked hotel online about 3 hours before arrival. Fromt desk was able to get me my AAA discount even though I didn't get it online. Close to freeway so depends on room location you might hear traffic. Only needes a place to sleep and it worked for me. Front desk was very friendly and helpful.(6-15-21 8pm). Room was clean and AC worked to keep room comfortable. I would stay here again if traveling in area. read more

I booked a couple nights over Memorial Day weekend and as my plans changed had to book another night through the app. Not only did these guys put us in the same room for both reservation times (so we didn't have to move) but they, despite being packed, caught us at the door while we were coming in to refresh our key cards for the second reso. The building is surprisingly small and the fixtures are a bit older but their cleanliness standards are up there with other 4* hotels! My one and only gripe is that I wish they would go back to an actual continental breakfast rather than a little granola bar, banana, and yogurt in a bag. This was a decent place for the price. It was quiet even though it shared a parking lot with another hotel and a gas station AND it was right next to a busy freeway. The rooms had nice, new linoleum flooring and a modern wireless thermostat. Staff was friendly and the lobby was clean. However, the stairwell we used was carpeted and the carpet was NASTY. When staff cleaned the second floor, they haphazardly threw linens over the interior second floor balcony into a cart on the first floor. They nearly hit me as I walked by but didn't say anything. This place is a little gem on when on a budget. Very clean, easy check in. Comfortable. Good water pressure. We stayed here twice on a road trip back-and-forth from the Midwest and found it a refreshing place to stop. We were hot, tired and dirty from a camping trip. They do not have laundry on site but let us use the laundry facilities at their sister hotel. The reason we chose this hotel again was that the continental free breakfast is very good. Great coffee, bagels, muffins, toast, peanut butter, bananas, oranges, yogurt, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, juices and an array of cereals. What a nice way to wake up and get going. A great big surprise bonus for us was the happy hour at the great Italian restaurant next-door. My husband and I had three IPA's our bill was six dollars. We down with those beers, and returned later with our kids for dinner. The pizza is out of sight. Everything worked, and the bed was comfy. This was the type of room that we would have been charged $120 for somewhere else. The staff is incredibly friendly. They were helpful & accommodating at all times, even when we simply met them in the hallway. This was the best hotel option last minute in Grand Junction. We got in super early in the morning, and the man at the front desk was so nice and helpful. We walked down to our room and it was really nice. The bed was comfortable. The room was so clean and fresh. Breakfast was great. This location genuinely is a five star Econo Lodge, if such a thing ever existed. Just did a cross-country road trip from California to Michigan and this is the only hotel we booked on the way there that we returned to on the way back. I mean, it's an Econo Lodge and the amenities are exactly what you'd expect and no more than that, but the price is right, the beds are comfy, the rooms are clean, everyone i met on the staff is friendly and the breakfast was above average. Front desk staff was extremely not helpful. I recently moved and tried to stay there one night when coming back to get stuff from storage. They said they won't allow "locals" to stay. They would not take my new address verbally since it was not on my license. Funny thing is, I stayed there two weeks ago and the guy did just that. This Econo Lodge in Grand Junction was exactly as expected from the reviews we read. We were looking for a room last minute and were able to book it for $69. It had two extremely comfortable double beds, the towels were soft and the room had both a microwave and refrigerator in it. The room was very spacious which included a small table and two arm chairs. It was VERY clean and tastefully updated. Full length mirror, shower with great pressure, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Comparing apples to apples, I am giving it 5 stars because it is a 5 star facility (motel)... If you're coming from the east on a long trip, be forewarned: there isn't much through central and western Colorado and driving through the winding pitch-black mountains at night with no cell-phone service is terrifying. Fill your gas tank up accordingly. When I reached Grand Junction, it was a breath of fresh air. I stopped at the Econolodge, which is right off the freeway. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. It was only about $70 and had I booked online earlier, there were some cheaper deals for about $55. The room was large, clean, and had free wi-fi, which you'd think would be standard nowadays, but isn't for many money-grubbing hotels. I walked outside to grab something from the car and forgot the room key. The rear of the building requires a key for reentry, so I walked around to the front and there was a new lady. She was also friendly and after verifying my information (2 for 2 on safety), she got me back into my room. Hard to rate a hotel like this because it's a standard "on-the-road" type of hotel, so it's not a luxurious 5-star hotel, but it was great service and the room was pretty decent, so a 5 from me. read more

I was thinking of using this location for an upcoming vacation, but after hearing a friend had a stay paid for in full, but the reservation was "lost" and they wouldn't honor it even though she had all her documentation of it. I can't respect a business that treats people like this and will stay with La Quinta Inn down the street, they have always treated me and my family well. If you have kids, not the place to stay. We also have a senior dog who likes to rest a lot (seeing how she is 16 years old) but you cannot leave your pet in the room to rest, while you go and get food or anything else, like check out the town. You have to stay put or take your dog which for us was upsetting because she needs rest. Trying to balance that with kids who need food was tricky. Also around 7:45pm we received a call due to noise because we have kids I have never stayed at a hotel that curfew for noise was before 8:00 pm. Ridiculous. So needless to say it was quit stressful. I am also pregnant and the stress of this made me sick. We couldn't even give the kids a bath worried they would make noise. The room itself was decently clean, but someone had unplugged the cable cord from the tv so we had a broken tv upon arrival and had to figure that out ourselves. read more
