If I am being honest - I struggle finding the motivation to lift weights. I'll go on a run, go on a hike, or do a workout class - but putting in headphones and lifting weights is not my jam. All that to say, I am super duper thankful for places like ClarityFit that create a fun and encouraging environment that makes lifting weights fun! My good friend (who just got married) is a faithful member of this gym, so her coach (Chris) offered to host a private class for the wedding party. Myself, three other bridesmaids, and the bride all came here early on a Sunday morning and got a good sweat in before the big day. Chris started us off with 5 minutes of stretching, followed by a warm up that got our heart rates up, and then led us into a workout rotation that we went through three times. Most of the exercises we did I was familiar with, but there were a few that intimidated me (ahem, power snatches). Chris had us try out each station a few times before starting the clock in order to ensure we had good form. After starting the clock he would come over and kindly correct us if our form was off. At the end of the class I could definitely feel that I had just challenged myself, but didn't feel like I overdid it. I was sore for the next few days, but not in an unreasonable way! Aside from a quality workout and awesome coaching, this gym has the coolest vibe. It's in a garage-type space off Fairview. The doors were open while we worked out, letting in some nice natural light and fresh morning air. The equipment and workout space is also up-to-date and kept nice and tidy. They also have a great stereo system in here and blare music while the class is going - nothing like a little Kanye to motivate you through your final round of box jumps! I started working out at ClarityFit about 9 months ago, and I can say without a doubt this is the best gym that I have been to! The trainers are knowledgeable and equipped, they meet you where you are at, they care about you personally and take time to understand your goals, they push you and challenge you and encourage you. My husband and I were in a huge slump with our nutrition and exercise. Every day I would vow to eat better, only to find that as the day wore on, I would begin eating poorly, once again. That's when we contacted Justin Weeks at Clarity Fit on Fairview Ave. in Boise, for help. Justin came all the way across town to our home, every single day to cook us healthy meals, and get us working out to become healthy! With Justin working with us, I actually lost 10 pounds in a little over 3 weeks! I/we just can't say enough good things about him. He went above & beyond to make sure we were getting our goals met, and to take care of us. He takes great pride and responsibility in his work, and really cares about getting you where you want to be! After one whole month together, (which we only signed up for 3 weeks, and he came an additional week!), yesterday was our last day with him. Both my husband and I felt sad that our time with Justin was nearing an end. But, we reminded ourselves that we will for sure be back and work more with him in the future! I have been attending Clarity Fit now for 2 months. I had been attending Axiom for a year prior, and was seeing no results and had no motivation. Clarity Fit has been nothing short of amazing! Each workout is challenging and completely different. My intention in starting was to lose weight and to learn how to lift weights. These workouts have been helping me accomplish both while also making my mind clear and challenging me mentally as well. I feel so good about myself.
