Towering high on the hill overlooking town is City Hall. You're greeted by a statue of the big man…read morehimself with a bag of toys. The grounds were freshly kept and in my short visit I was greeted warmly and given some great places for a quick visit during my jaunt through town. Tucked away about 10 miles from I64 it's a fun stop off to stretch your legs and see the sites.

They have picked other things up my husband has called about .. i have to say they are better then the county forsure . they definitely do there part around town cleaning up . i live right in the middle and im actually city and most of my road is county and they do nothing for this road ..The town takes care of there part . although i must say on the corner of applegate down by the car lot its looking pretty bad with all kinds of debree cigarette butts all in the flower beds , it's not looking the best right now and copp lane is way over due for new pavement road .. So many holes and will tear your car up .. but we could use some tlc over here on lewis and clark but other then that they are always out working .. thank you .and to public works ..

Sharfe City Hall was actually really nice as a lab right next to it as a bingo army tank outside which I'm not sure why but it was cool seeing. But I enjoyed myself walking around looking at the buildings in the park in the little monument they have so it's a nice little part of town of area

City of Shively suffers from poor leadership. Mayor Beverly Chester Burton refuses to answer…read morequestions with a direct answer or follow through on her word. Recently I sent several emails and left several messages before she ever reached back out to me. It was a week before I received any communications. When she reached out she emailed me @ 3:55 a.m. saying she would call me that day. She did not call me until 8:30 that evening, outside of business hours. The call was pointless she could not answer my questions stating she didn't have the information in front of her. Why even return my call with no answers? I asked why my question(s) could not be answered she stated she didn't like my tone and if I wanted to talk I needed to attend a council meeting. I didn't know it was a crime for a taxpayer to ask a question and receive a complete answer backed by validity. Residents of The City of Shively deserve better. Mayor Chester Burton doesn't seem to have the interest of the people at forefront. Why did you run for mayor again ? Definitely not to serve.
