But given that it's been a few years since they've held the event and then a lot of the people who helped out before, catering, musicians, etc. weren't able to help or make it this year we must take that into consideration. It was an experiment so to say being here at the lodge to see how it works and of course after a trial the next year always becomes better and better as it goes on. From start to finish, Kylan worked closely with me and the vendors I contracted with, for photography, videography, and deejay services (Jon); decorator (Lori); caterer (Tina), cakes and desserts (Laura & April), and also our emcee (Jinkee). Kylan provided many of the venue decorations, and final touches. She worked within my budget. Kylan even provided the centerpieces, balloon garland, head table backdrop, flowers, table list, table numbers, event program, and menu programs. My decorator Lori, provided the red carpet entrance, complete with ropes and stantions. And she created my party favors. Kylan coordinated with my husband and I, and a group of friends and family, to set up our party. Plus, Kylan worked with Jon and his staff, to prep the entertainers (rehearsals), and to have them set up their AV and sound systems, as we also had a slideshow. Friends flew from the East Coast, the Southwest, and all over the West Coast, to join us for our special event. Many guests commented how elegant the venue was, and that our party was the best party they had ever attended!! If you are looking for a venue to have a wedding or vow renewal, look no further as there is chapel on the property too. Our event couldn't have been more joyous and successful!! Our guests said that they could feel the love in the air, and the feeling of being one big family. Largely because of Kylan and her staff, our party was the BEST DAY EVER for us!! After two weeks of no response and no real effort toward a solution, I feel obligated to share my experience. From the start, I was handed off to three different coordinators. I let it go at first, but looking back, it made planning inconsistent and stressful. Two weeks before the wedding, the main planner went on vacation right when deadlines were due, and I had to work with yet another new person. The day of the wedding, my guests were warned about unauthorized alcohol, and I took full responsibility and followed the contract by closing the bar immediately. That issue was handled and moved on from. What wasn't handled professionally was the food. I paid almost $5000 for the catering buyout to bring in my own restaurant and signed a liability waiver. Despite that, staff told guests they couldn't take leftovers before even speaking to me. I had to go back and forth with the day-of manager just to get them to allow it. Even then, they cleared food off tables while some guests were still eating or had just stepped away, and combined multiple tables' entrées onto single platters. I also had a 12-hour rental, yet cleanup started early, and tables were being taken down before our agreed end time. It made us and our guests feel rushed to leave. My event was supposed to go until 11:00pm, but this is what the venue looked like 10:15pm. My 12-hour rental was from 12:00pm-12:00am, I factored in the last hour for vendors to clean up. However the venue obviously started the cleaning up a lot earlier than expected. I tried to resolve this privately, and was told that they would follow up about this, but I haven't heard from them in two weeks. Mind you I've been consistently trying to contact them via email and phone, but they have been again, not really addressing my concerns and taking an upward of 7-14 days to respond. At that point, I felt I had no choice but to leave an honest review so future couples know what to expect.

We were kicked out 2 hours earlier than what we had booked and paid for, with no proper…read moreexplanation. When we asked why, we were laughed at by staff, and even tossed out our catered food. Kenzie, the event manager, closed the gate on us 2 hours prior to the time that we booked for. She told us the side door was open, but the front gate was locked, and staff had already started forcing us out, saying they needed time to clean. When the groom asked why we were being treated this way, they laughed in his face. We also overheard that security was leaving early, even though the venue had been booked for two extra hours. If those hours were paid for, why were the staff and security packing up? Meanwhile, guests were being charged for drinks that were supposed to be prepaid by the wedding party. We were charged cocktails, beer, and even SODA at 7:05 PM, the bar began charging guests for drinks, despite us being told it would be open until 8:00 PM. To top off the night, we walked past a group of employees and heard one of them say, "Thank God we get to leave early." It was clear that the staff didn't want to be there and had zero interest in supporting the event or treating guests with respect. Absolutely would not recommend booking this venue unless you're okay with getting kicked out early, disrespected, and overcharged -- all without any clear communication.

The hosts set up lights around the venue, chandeliers, plenty of tables, chairs, linens, a large tent for dinner, a photo booth station, signage, and some of their own flowers for decor. We didn't have to rent any decor, as they have a large closet full of wooden rounds and vases that you can choose from. The venue is also affordable, I might add, and you get so much for your money. My stepmom surprised my toddler with tickets for Messy Madness, and we had heard lots of great…read morethings about it and were SO excited. I had a question before the event and contacted them via Facebook. They were quick to respond, answered my question helpfully, and the Saturday night before the event at 4:51pm they responded, "See you tomorrow :)" after I thanked them for their reply. So Sunday morning, we gathered all our spare clothes and towels to clean up and got my mom and sister in the car with us and drove the 30 minutes across town to Kids Klubhouse where it was being hosted. We arrived with 10 minutes to spare and there were no cars out front, no lights on inside. We hoped for the best and walked up, but alas the door was locked. I immediately contacted my stepmom to see if she had gotten a cancellation notice, then checked the event online while I waited for her reply. Apparently our 10am class was cancelled, as was the 8am class advertised for earlier that day. Come to find out, they emailed out a cancellation notice at 8:45pm the night prior, giving barely a 12 hour notice before the event was supposed to start, due to "lack of ticket sales." My stepmom's in Indiana, so they sent it at midnight her time, and it went to her junk mail (which obviously they couldn't control, but maybe if they'd given more than a half day's notice, she would have checked her junk mail). My stepmom emailed them about what happened and was told, "As you were the only attendees the owner advised me to cancel, refund and replace the tickets for another date. I emailed you as soon as it was cancelled and updated the event on Facebook and Eventbrite to state cancelled just in case." Umm.. if they did all that, why couldn't they update the ONE attendee (me) who had messaged them just a few hours prior via Facebook?! What they did right in this situation: Immediately refunded my stepmom without her having to ask, and issued free replacement tickets should we choose to sign my daughter back up for Messy Madness. But .... I really don't think I feel like checking their event page over and over leading up to the event to make sure they don't cancel last minute on us again, especially after we reserved our morning and coordinated with family to go to the original event. If we do decide to redeem the free tickets, I'll be sure not to tell my daughter in advance so I don't potentially set her up for another disappointment if they do cancel again.
