Excellent hidden gem in Brush Prairie! Nicer place and tasty food. Fries are so good! Even had music playing while we ate dinner.

They have let this golf course go so far down hill, it will soon be just a natural habitat. All but three greens are dried out with huge cracks on the surface. The remaining grass has been taken over by moss and fungus. The bunkers are now filled with weeds and crabgrass. The fairways, if can call them that go unmowed. Terrible awful place to play. I won't be playing here again. read more

I golfed here about 2-3 years ago and it was understandable that it was in slight disrepair because they had to reroute some of the holes because of a housing development that was going in. We golfed it yesterday, and I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't any better and maybe even worse than 2-3 years ago. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars vs 1 is that the last 5 holes were in decent shape. Things that I found disappointing: Many of the fairways were hard to distinguish from the rough. Many of the greens had dirt patches. Our cart ran out of juice on hole 9 and we had to limp it back to the clubhouse. I had to help push it up the hill on holes 8,9. 1 of the bridges over Salmon Creek has caution tape on the handrails, which is a bit disconcerting. Many of the women's tee boxes looked like they were just mowed slightly lower than the rough with no actual tee box. In general I don't think I would return there to play. I think they should lower the greens fees to get more cash flow which will allow them to address these major issues. read more

Want to know what a suffering dying course looks like? This might be up your alley. I was excited to try this course for the first time but it was rough. I'll admit I'm not a great golfer and I do expect to lose a few balls or 5...but honestly the course is not well maintained. First hole has a lot of gravel and sand in the fairway. Many of the greens have dry spots or dying grass. When you do see a "nice" green you will experience a bumpy roll with your ball. The greens go fast and slow, much like bumper to bumper traffic. Watch out for the 14th hole. If you play your drive right you can bounce your ball off the net to get into the middle of the fairway. However the fairway has rocks and sand in the middle. You might want to play winter rules and find a spot of grass to hit off of. The course itself is difficult to play. Expect some balls to get lost in the rough...which is much more tougher than you might be used to. The fairways won't allow your balls to roll, it might just die off quick. The greens are dry and wet and there are dead spots. You might want to ask the rules guy if you can pull out a weed that is in your line if it's legal. Will I comeback? Probably not. You should expect a good course for the money you pay. I don't see the course here within 10 years since property value is expensive. read more

Wow!!!! My parents and I had a really long day today and came to The Cedars. We got the mail from The Cedars from our mailbox and we made a reservation. The pictures are shown wasn't true. My mom called and made sure and they said we will have the food from the picture on the flyer. End up, no steak, no salmon, and no chicken Alfredo pasta. The guy who present for Smart Energy Today, he took a pen and crossed off on the pictures of food on flyer. He said picked one from three menu options. I was like what about the pictures of the food and he was like no no too bad. I felt tricked big time! The flyer didn't say anything about presentation about the company from Smart Energy Today. Even worse is that we are deaf and don't know what's going on during at the presentation with no interpreter/s. Just unbelievable. What a day! Many, many years ago this was a great course. Today it's a dump. Fault the owners who don't give a rip anymore after tearing out two holes and the range to build a bunch of crap houses. They lied to the buyers that the course would always be there. Now they don't maintain what's left of it yet rip off the unknown golfers who pull up to play 18 thinking it is like it was. They are going to sell it to the county for hopefully a park. Avoid this farce of a course! read more

To say that The Cedars on Salmon Creek is "A Unique Golf Experience" is an understatement. We got to the first "tee box" and our threesome proceeded to hit three perfect drives that landed in the middle of what could best be described as a gravel road with clumps of grass growing in it. After ruining all of our approach clubs, we finally managed to all reach the "green" that looked more like a middle school science project of a giant topographical map of Utah--giant dried up salt flats and all. Weather you like burned down bridges or kids that just caught two pound lake trout riding their bike down hole 14 fairway, you should definitely book a tee time here. read more

Great food and atmosphere whether you eat inside or out on the patio! They have bingo night on Mondays and trivia Tuesdays, so I've eaten here multiple times over the past few months, and thanks to the other people in my group, I've been able sample a lot of the menu :) Great variety of food and drinks! It's quality, fresh food- not your typical golf course fare. Highly recommend the bbq chicken wrap, salmon caesar salad, Cedars cheeseburger, mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, and don't forget to ask about dessert! They have a full bar with 18 beers on tap and a nice variety of wines. We attended the first-of-the-season music on the patio with Brittnee Kellogg last night. It was a fun, festive, very relaxing atmosphere. And the chef's special, Chicken Francese with greek relish was delish (see pic)! It appears that The Cedars Grill (and the golf course) is going through a reboot due to the development going on around it, but they're doing it right! Played here Sunday July 4th and couldn't believe the conditions of the course. This was once a premium course well worth the green fees. No longer. I played on courses where they were just changing a pasture into a golf course and it was in better condition. I played on a course in the Cook Islands that was better. By far the worst course in the entire United States and not worth playing even if you didn't have to pay. Terrible to see a great course fall so far in such a short time. Don't waste you time and especially your money. They'll tear it up shortly for more homes they just won't be on a golf course any longer. Don't waste your money or your time with this golf course. Today was the second time (reluctantly) I have played here in two months. It was a with a large group of guys that likes to go out and play a best ball tournament. We arrive to the course in time to warm up and then head out to play... only one problem. The carts we paid for were all out on the course. Seriously this place ran out of golf carts and delayed our tee time an HOUR before we could even start. No biggie, we all understood and waited patiently to play, we had already paid and made the arrangements in our schedule to play anyway. So we go out and play, and a couple of the guys are new to the game and decide to rent clubs from the clubhouse. They pay $20 to rent clubs that were most likely purchased as a garage sale for $20 total and the Nike Sasquatch driver they had was broken! I have my own clubs, but if I had paid for rentals then I would be very upset to get those clubs. But oh well, we are all just having a good time and hanging out right? Wrong. On the tee box of hole 16 the greenskeeper turns to us and rudely tells us we need to speed up... mind you we had waited patiently to play, and were actually not holding anyone up. So I have a back and forth with him. He proceeds to drive full speed right in front of us on the fairway in a fit and hops off his cart and says "it's not like you are any good anyway." At this point I am furious. We paid $40 to play this course that has dead grass everywhere, even on the greens. It is seriously the worst maintained course I have ever played. Especially at that price point. Needless to say I won't be back, except to maybe go to the bar where the employees there are actually courteous. I will contacting the course manager on Monday and detailing this entire screw up of a day. But again, I tell you, don't waste your money or time playing golf here. read more

Having played The Cedars on Salmon Creek pretty consistently from 1993-2015, the course had seen many good improvements in quality fairway and green maintenance. However, sometime in the past few years, the owners have chosen to let this course deteriorate to the point of it being the absolute worse course in Clark County and possibly in the PNW. Clearly the owners have no desire to have repeat customers given the lack of maintenance literally everywhere on the course. The clubhouse is in shambles, the proshop is a mess, the course is a nightmare that they charge a ridiculous $35 to walk 18. From rocky and dead grass tee boxes littered with broken tees and garbage to fairways that have likely no been watered beyond rainfall in ages - as they are dry cracked rocky and virtually zero grass maintenance. The greens are so dry, pitted, damaged and unkept from a mower perspective that putting is nearly impossible outside of about 18". The course is truly not worth paying $5 to play. The owners need to invest in real maintenance or there's a good chance this once wonderful gem of a course in north Clark county we become non-existent. I was so disappointed in playing it on 5/2/21, that I tried going to the proshop to discuss getting a refund, as certain holes were listed as completely Closed, but of course the guy in the proshop doesn't tell you that you can't play all 18 holes, but they still charge full price, but by 5pm, the proshop and entire clubhouse was locked up and dark. After having played The Cedars more than 50 times in the past, I'll definitely never be coming back! read more

Their website states they offer "a unique golf experience" and I sure never golfed like this before. We showed up early for a 730am tee time and couldn't warm up due to the sprinkler system running on each putting green. Whatever, we can hit the course cold. Except the sprinkler system is also on hosing down the first tee! I ran to the clubhouse to ask the counter worker to turn off the sprinkler system since we are now past tee time, to which he says I'm not a maintenance worker. No offer to call the maintenance guy or anything. So I walk back and thankfully the maintenance worker is cruising to the clubhouse in his cart. I ask to turn off the sprinklers at hole 1 tee area since it is past our tee time now, and he goes to the valves to shut off and head back to the clubhouse. Not a great start but at least now we are on track. Except the hole 1 tee is a ridge the doglegs right and what do we see when we make the turn... MORE SPRINKLERS ON AT THE GREEN. We now wait another 10 minutes before they turn off to proceed with the game. Mind you before we made this turn we see the maintenance guy just chatting it up with the neighbors without giving a second thought about the rest of the sprinklers You would think the course would be lush and greens would be smooth like their website states, but no: It looks like every green had a mini-earthquake happen or just dead spots scattered all over. The fairways are dry and brown, the grass isn't well trimmed. I wish I thought to take pictures to post because I cannot even believe that the would advertise themselves as "Lush grass only surpassed by their greens" with the condition I played in. I can't imagine anyone was happy to play today. This was horrible to play on, horribly maintained, horribly serviced, and a waste of money and time for the weekend. Luckily I value spending time with my dad to keep trekking on plus the drive from Portland to here was too long to call it quits. Think twice before coming here because at the price for a weekend tee time, it is simply not worth it. I cannot give the benefit of the doubt to the them due to the heat wave because courses that aren't surrounded by lakes/creeks are maintained at a a far superior quality in this heat. read more

Boy, they sure made a mess of this place. Greed has not been good for the course. In 2017 and 2018 they dug up the lower part of the course to put sewer lines in for their cheap homes on tiny lots. Then they sold off the first two holes for more cheap homes. Then they compacted the remaining space. What are we left with? A mud-pit swamp of a golf course with patchy grass, man hole covers, and signage made with cardboard and magic markers. On the new hole #1, a wooded dogleg results in unseen golfers firing balls at you while you're on the fairway. I almost took a ball to the cranium. I don't actually play golf. Like a lot of people, now while the course is closed, I come here to walk. The scenery is lovely. I especially like the lake where the geese swim. Salmon Creek runs through the course. It's very picturesque. I just wish there were some benches, as it would be nice to sit and rest once in a while. read more

This course was just an OK course to begin with when the driving range was there. But then they took that and #1 and #2 are gone too. I am a high school golfer and this was my home course for the first couple years of my high school career . I'm now a junior and I keep praying that my golf coach will come to his senses and we will get a new home course to play on . You can hardly warm up before your round here and when you finally are warmed up , you run out of holes to play because it's under construction . Absolutely the worst condition course I have ever played in over 54 years! This is a worse case goat ranch. Weeds on greens, burned out greens, mud in traps, completely barren fairways, tee areas have weeds every were. Really unbelievable. I was the first group of players to play the course when it opened in 1975. The current owner is obviously spending no money on the course but selling lots. A disgrace. Don't spend your money. We recently hosted our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at "The Cedars on Salmon Creek." The whole experience was wonderful! From the very first call when I spoke with 'Shannon,' everything was seamless! The room with the large brick fireplace, twinkle lights overhead, and overlooking the golf course was just beautiful! We had one long table and it was set so pretty with crisp tablecloths and napkins. The schedule that day allowed for us to come in a few hours early to decorate also! Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. We chose to serve the "Street Tacos" and everyone thought the food was delicious! Went there just for golf. Layout of the course is wonderful and challenging. That being said, the greens and tee boxes are the worst I've played in years. I've been to cedars many times over the years. Used too be a good course, even if little difficult. Just recently had a terrible experience. On hole 12, the Marshall in a Jeff Gordon golf I cart came up out of nowhere and told us to pick up the pace and was a complete jerk about it. I understand if we were slow golfers would be different, but we are not we play fast. Even if looking for a loss ball we drop and move on. It was just at the 2 hour mark and ended up finishing the round just under 3 and half hours for 18 holes walking! How is that slow? After telling the guy at the pro shop what happened he didn't even seem to care. Place has turned into a complete joke. Maybe the course Marshall needs to figure out the pace of play the right way. Ruined the rest of the holes because we were both pissed, and couldn't focus back on golf. WTG cedars you lost 2 golfers from last 10 years. read more

The worst place to play golf in the Vancouver area. Now I should say it isn't the fault of anyone here in the restaurant or club house. The main problem here belongs to the greens keeper or lack of keepers. Today we were told to hurry up and play on. My 4 some was on the 15 or 16th hole. Now I have been asked to speed up before here so at first I was like no big deal. Today thou we had an 11:30 ish tee time. We were well over an hour past that tee time today due to lack of planning on behalf of the club house, which was totally cool. That was until the guy who claimed to be the superintendent of the course told us too hurry up our play, then he proceeded to tell us we aren't even that good of golfers. Now l don't know about you but when it comes to customer service and such which the Cedars obviously could really care less about, I was not very impressed by the dryness and overall poor conditions of every single home here today. I was with a large group of guys playing today and we were all behind already by at least an hour due to waiting for carts. We had at least 13 total golfers and this was the second time we played this course in the last month. I myself will never be back due to the encounter with the supposed superintendent of the course who obviously was having a horrible day. I feel bad for whoever runs this place because it does have potential here. The staff in the clubhouse and restaurant/bar are beyond awesome when it comes to service but one bad apple can completely change someone's opinion of the entire facility. Sorry Cedars, but $40 for golfing here is just never going to happen again in my lifetime and I will make sure that everyone I know in Vancouver is aware of the overall lack of care not only for the golf course but for the customers who try to enjoy this course. Just to also let everyone know. Don't ever rent clubs from here either. They are literally the worst golf clubs on the planet. Nike Sumo drivers shouldn't be rented out when they are damaged to the losing where you can't drive even a horrible shot with them. Bottom line is save your money go play putt putt or better yet go to Portland and play any course because it will be better use of your money and time. read more

I have been to the Chelatchee Restaurant at Cedars Golf Course a few times and enjoyed them all. We had a wonderful smoked prime dinner about 3 weeks go and had great service and the food was oh so tasty. We also did Taco Tuesday Trivia recently with a group of friends and that was just way too much fun. Best golf course ever with great service, Joe Cain is a very professional at his job and for golf lesson which are worth it. He has a golf simulator that helps you improve your game and the course itself is relaxing with the salmon creek by your side with nature surrounding you. Recommend it for a golf but Cedars has its own restaurant called the Cedars Grille Witch has the best burgers and fries and chicken tenders at a golf course. Will be coming back. read more

Recently got married at Cedars and I cannot give the staff enough praise for a job well done! Shannon, Colton and George were flexible, accommodating, laid back and so friendly. The food and service was amazing and they helped us make it a perfect day! They even provided us a wonderful congratulatory basket of goodies! If you are looking for an affordable, spacious, laid back location that provides a country like setting and you want full reign to bring family recipes and the flexibility with decorations this is thee place. Great golf course that will test all skill levels of most golfers. This outstanding golf course is located just south of Battle Ground, WA and east of Brush Prairie, WA. It's only 25 minutes from Portland, OR. The new refreshing staff and it's owner can't be beat! The course winds around Salmon Creek with most holes bordering Salmon Creek. That means water. Only two holes of the gorgeous 18 holes are without water hazards. Accuracy off the tee is put to the test on every hole as well as placement of approach shots when going for the green. The course is a great walking course though the course has cart rentals. If you like a fun challenge and want a great golfing experience give The Cedars on Salmon Creek a try. You won't be disappointed. One word of advice, bring plenty of golf balls. Somehow the creek and ponds always seem to find my golf balls. You can also make tee times online. Have fun!! read more
