Mr Kim here reminds me of mr Kim in the tv show Kims convenience. The way they speak is very similar. Mr Kim here is easygoing and approachable. He did my haircut in a pretty short time. Maybe 5-10 minutes. He did my husband's hair in a even shorter time. It is a nice neighborhood hair studio.

I don't know what looks good. I show up for my appointment, ask for recommendations, they give a good recommendation. They execute the haircut, give a nice wash, and I'm set. I've been here a couple times now, and always walk out happy. The vibe of the place is great. A cut typically takes an hour, but nothing ever feels rushed. It can get busy, but it never feels busy. When I confronted them, they said the $50 dollar one doesn't include use of massage oil. Massage oil was only put on me for a brief 10 minutes and I did not have hot stones put on my back. They didn't even give me a proper room with a door and walls. Will not be back even if I was desperate.

My friend and I opted to go to Daisy Nails and Spa for our manicures (removal and shellac manicure for me, a shellac mani and pedi for my friend) on a Friday afternoon. I called about 3 weeks prior to the appointment as I wanted to make sure we got our manis together or around the same time. The staff were prompt to take my name and number down during the phone call. Day of our appointment, although we arrived on time we still had to wait about 10-15 min for our nail technicians. I probably waited a bit longer. The place was a little over half full and all the nail technicians were busy with other customers. My shellac removal and manicure took almost 1.5 hours long (usually would take me about an hour at another salon, however, I did have to wait a bit in the beginning). My nail technician was attentive and friendly. I had 2 split nails which she was aware of and took care to cover them up. She also listened to how I wanted to shape my nails and made sure I was okay with the length. Manicure wise, she did a great job! My friend was also happy with her mani and pedi services. If you pay cash you don't need to pay tax. They do however, accept credit and debit as well. Overall, good salon around the neighbourhood. It is a popular place so it does get quite busy, best to book an appointment ahead of time, especially on the weekends!
