The girl at the desk never provided any information about anything. I did not know I needed quarters for the locker rental, nor did I not know I couldn't wear a baseball cap or have a crossbody bag. As soon as I got on the rink, the attendant told me I had to get off because of my hat. I wasn't upset or anything, I quietly skated off, returned my skates and gathered my belongings. As I was exiting I observed men on the skating rink with beanies on their heads and skull caps. Additionally I observed adults walking on the rink as they were helping their children. I did not know that the rink was also a track. I would think that's a bigger safety hazard than wearing a hat. When I went to the front to inquire about a refund there was a gentleman in front of me who had on a hat and I was tempted to say something to him but I also wanted to see if the clerk would remind him of the hat policy, but she didn't. I don't know if the assumption is that everyone who visits are regulars and know the protocol, but it wouldn't hurt to have signage at the front desk and to also remind the attendants to say something to the patrons.

First, I want to emphasize WCC's lack of communication. My partner and I repeatedly tried to speak with the person overseeing the summer camp before the first day via phone or email, hoping to explain our child's needs in person. However, WCC communicated only by email and said meetings were not an option, but they assured us they could support my child. We shared our child's likes, dislikes, comfort zones, and guidelines for responding to outbursts or meltdowns. The first day of camp was the first terrifying and traumatizing moment my child has ever experienced. I received a call stating my child needed to be picked up because my child was not listening, refused to get out of the pool and struck a staff member. I was working and I told them I could be there within 30 minutes. Two minutes later someone else called asking if I could get there sooner or if my partner could arrive faster. I explained it wasn't possible because we worked at the same location and to please be patient. This person refused to listen and asked if I had another family member because my child "has to go". Truthfully, I answered, "I have no reliable family members, I'm on my way" and I just hung up on them. I arrived 20 minutes after the first call and went straight to the lobby receptionist to retrieve my child. Near the entrance to the pool area, three staff members stared at me and whispered to each other then proceeded to get the supervisor. The supervisor explained to me that my child was not listening to staff, refused to get out of the pool and had locked themselves in the changing area. I asked the supervisor if she was aware that my child has autism and that my child needs a 5-minute reminder when pool time is coming to an end. She claims she was not aware although my child was wearing a red wristband indicating the diagnoses. I also confirmed it was written on the paperwork when I went to pick up the summer camp shirt. Finally, we arrive to the changing room to find two staff members and a Woodbridge police officer. The staff said my child barricaded themselves inside and they couldn't get in. Without even saying a word, I opened the un-locked door and looked at the staff, proving they had lied. I witnessed my child lying on the floor naked, white as a ghost, shivering in fear. My child put their hands over their ears and apologized to me repeatedly. My child said" I thought I did something wrong when they told me to get out the pool and I thought the cop was going to arrest me". It took me about 10 minutes to calm my child down. During the 10 minutes, I heard several knocks on the door from the supervisors urging us to leave. The officer also kept knocking on door asking if I wanted to get my child "committed". He also told me that I should have a better dialog with the staff because they are not properly equipped to handle "kids like this". As my child and I walk out of the pool area, children hounded from a distance saying, "What's wrong with that kid?" and "Get out of here!". As we continue to walk, we are approached by the staff and the officer. The staff stated that they are not equipped to "handle kids with these diagnoses" and would like a better dialog to better handle a situation like this. I reminded them that I sent emails explaining my child's diagnosis and I was assured he would be accommodated. My words fell on deaf ears and to protect my child from further scrutiny, we swiftly exited WCC. That night in bed, my child said," I thought I was going to jail, and I was in big trouble". I couldn't fathom sending my child back to WCC to suffer further fear and humiliation. So, the next morning, I spoke with a supervisor from WCC and explained why my child would not be returning. WCC only gave me a partial refund because "policies" protect them even if it is unfair. I was charged for a full week of attendance and the meal plan for that week as well. I wrote this very long review because the full story was necessary. I urge every parent and caregiver to be aware of my family's treatment for just one day in this camp. Every time we pass by WCC, my child closes their eyes and covers their ears. The lack of support, training, and the claims they did not know my child was autistic is beyond disbelief. WCC will assure you that they are equipped to accommodate your child with disorders, but at the end of the day its "Profit over People".

Well later I learned this is the best of all five in New Brunswick campus. The following are the reasons why it's such a disappointment to me: 1. I'm a morning person and prefer to workout first thing of my day, yet gym only opens at 7am which is already not early. On top of it, it changes hour to 8am, or 9am, sometimes to 11am during breaks or summer. sometimes won't open at all. If you're serious about training like me, you must be familiar that consistency is key. Yet the schedules make me think the gym is against morning people. 2. The layout of fitness room is a train wreck to be honest. Machines are way too close to each other. One can be in other people's way even when working out. It's not just inconvenient, it's actually DANGEROUS. Plus, there's only ONE machine for each exercise. The whole fitness room probably has the size of two decent parking garage. Which is WAY too tiny given the number of people on campus. 3. The whole building is POORLY designed. The parking lot is on the opposite side of the building so you get extra walk because of poor design. Another thing is, the building size looks decent yet it has so tiny space for fitness room. 4. The power lifting room is okay. It only has 4 squat racks and 2 deadlifts platforms. Not even 1/3 of my previous gym. But surprisingly, not many people use them anyway so it's good. There's always a space when I go to in the morning. So two stars are for the power gym. 5. The swimming pool looks great but I don't swim that much so the star doesn't include swimming. To summarize, if you use the gym mainly for lifting, you can go and get work done but don't expect too much more. My star might be biased cuz I've seen one of the best. But it's good for those who never have seen better because they won't have as much disappointment as I have.

This building is kind of strangely built. They have the main door to the gym all the way around the opposite side of the building from the parking lot. This is really annoying when it's rainy or cold or snowy and you have to walk around the needlessly long poorly designed path. The parking lot itself is way too tiny, especially when they open the gym up to high school swim meets and other special events. The way it's designed is also poor, since the positioning of the isles creates a bunch of blind turns. I've seen a few accidents here over the past few years. Once you're inside, they also insist on swiping your RUID badge when you walk in, which can get irritating. They have an Olympic sized pool which looks pretty nice. The general gym weight equipment area is way too small for the number of students/staff that are on this campus. They have rooms for spinning and racquetball as well. There are a bunch of classes you can take at the gym. They are quite cheap for Rutgers staff/students but it's sort of insulting that they aren't put into the tuition in the first place. Most of the classes are enjoyable though. I especially like the spin classes and RUFIT (which is kind of a mixed stations work out class). I just wish they had more classes later in the evening. The gym closes at 9pm and there are larger stretches of the year where it isn't open at all for breaks an things. The scheduling is inconsistent and always changing which can get confusing sometimes.

That last positive, however, has a qualifier. Periods of heavy rain can cause significant lakes (complete with ducks) in the area immediately adjacent to the Comcast corporate campus. A small picnic grove separates both ends of this long and narrow park, and contains a small assortment of playground gear. Parking on Rahway Ave. can be tough, but is a breeze on the Garden St. side. Also a nice park to stroll, as there is often something of interest going on.

They did remove the basketball court,however it was to make the park more younger-child friendly( basically trying to discourage older teens from hanging out) ,which made room fore the expansions. It is well lit(they added plenty of new lighting ,run off of solar panel energy),newly refenced,and simply a wonderful park in my opinion. They on occasion host free events for the residents,such as an annual Easter egg hunt,and one year they even had mini-festival. . Overall I'd say it is the best park in town,a wonderful place to get away and curl up with a good book, very ample play areas and activities for kids,and also a great place for an afternoon picnic.

Splash pad and playground is a great, free activity for kids under 5 to do for a couple of hours on…read morea hot day. Bring a lawn chair, so that you can sit underneath a shady tree. Also, have kids wear water shoes because the ground is hot. The splash pad consists of 10 or so (very little) jets of water, just enough for the little ones to get wet. Public bathrooms available. I believe the splash pad water starts at 11:00 a.m. When we were there there was an ice cream truck so make sure to bring cash just in case.
