Honestly the best cafe we've been to in Missouri so far. The cream cheese filled muffins were so good we bought the rest they had for the day. We travel through Sullivan often, but usually stop at restaurants visible from the interstate. We'd heard of the Clark Street Cafe and Bakery and decided to go a little further into town to check it out. On our first visit, I had the Ciabatta (plus bacon!) and my wife had the breakfast croissant. It was evident the staff takes pride in their food quality and service. The seating area was comfortable with your choice of booth or table along with a self serve coffee bar. We have since been back for breakfast and lunch and had a consistent, enjoyable experience. read more

The number of different items on their menu is ideal. I chose the summer sampler I think. It is the three salads egg, chicken, tuna. It is the perfect size for lunch comes with fresh fruit and fresh veg. I felt completely satisfied when I finish the meal. My seat on the patio created the perfect ambience. We ordered at the counter and they brought our food to us. Service was very good and the young lady was very nice. The food was priced well also. It's the perfect place to go with a friend to chat, have a good meal and enjoy the Cool breeze. The flower on the patio was also quite beautiful. read more

What a gem! I was in the area and wanting a salad, so I stopped in here. While their sandwich options aren't wildly expansive, they had more interesting salads than most spots, and I opted for the St. Louis. A well-portioned, tasty mix of greens, artichoke, red pepper, onion, mozzarella and chicken hit the spot. While I did find myself wishing for more veggie mix ins and less cheese, it was still a wonderfully satisfying salad. The young lady and gentleman working the front of the house offered superb service, and their flavored ice teas are divine. I love that you can choose your own level of sweetness, and I'm sure I'll stop back in just for tea, even if I'm not hungry. read more

Small town delight! An unexpected delicious break from the long days travel. In addition to the historic charm and decor of the restaurant itself, the food was excellent. I had the ham and cheese quiche, also good, lots of sides from which to choose. Ice tea was a bit weak and coconut cream pie though beautiful and tasty, crust seemed like it never saw an oven. But that's okay, like I said still yummy. We went at peak lunch time on a Thursday. Busy but not overly crowded, excellent staff! My friend and I meet here once a month as a halfway point for us. This is such a cozy little cafe tucked off of the bustling highway. They have such a peaceful environment both inside and outside under a covered patio with ample seating provided. We have had breakfast and lunch and sampled just about everything on the menu! From sandwiches to pastries, and parfaits to salads- this place is our favorite. We love visiting here! We often times are there when they open and stay until they close, and the staff is always so friendly and never complain about our long visits! Every time we have been here, it is so clean and so welcoming! Their parfaits and their potato soup is especially my favorite! They have wonderful coffees and teas as well! Their chai tea lattes are amazing as well and far better than the ones you get at Starbucks - for a fraction of the price! Highly recommend! On our way to Chateau on the Lake, we needed lunch. I found this cute cafe on Yelp. Great looking cookies, gooey butter bars and pies. We grabbed a booth after ordering at the counter. The cafe is clean and really nice. My husband ordered a French dip sandwich and I went for the St. Louis Salad with grilled chicken. The salad was huge! The chicken was grilled and warm. One of the best salads I've ever had and I make lots of salads! If you are in the Sullivan area, I'd highly recommend a stop here. We loved it. Nice folks too. read more
