I have been visiting Dr. Keller for about 7 or 8 years and I am very satisfied with her care and manner. She treats patients with care and respect. The office staff, particularly Maddie, is very friendly and cares for the needs of the patients. What I don't care for (and this is not reflection of Dr. Keller) is the Clarkson Eyecare way of pushing their doctors to recommend procedures that may or may not be necessary. Again, this is not reflection of the care of Dr. Keller, I just don't like the Clarkson method of selling procedures to clients. I have changed eye doctors. Again this is not reflection of Dr. Keller. The doctor I am moving to comes highly recommended from a fellow pilot and the location is more convenient. read more

I ordered prescription glasses from Clarkson Eyecare and specifically asked multiple times whether a larger frame would make the lenses thicker. I was repeatedly assured by staff that the larger frames would be suitable and that the lenses could be adjusted ("shaved down") so there would be no noticeable difference in thickness compared to my current, smaller-framed glasses. Based on this guidance, I followed their recommendation and also paid an additional fee for "premium" thinner lenses. However, when I received the glasses, the lenses were significantly thicker and heavier than expected due to the larger frame. This resulted in considerable discomfort and dizziness, making them difficult to wear. After noticing the issue, I called the store the same day and was told that this would not be an issue and that I could return to have the glasses replaced or restyled. Based on this assurance, I returned to the store. I went through the process again, including additional measurements and selecting a smaller frame. However, only at the conclusion of the visit--after I had already returned the original glasses, the store manager informed me that I would need to pay an additional $147--essentially charging us for a second set of lenses--because the original lenses could not be reused. This was never disclosed or authorized in advance. I explained the entire situation to the store manager, emphasizing that I had relied on the staff's recommendations regarding the larger frames and had been led to believe that a replacement would be provided at no additional cost. Unfortunately, my concerns were dismissed. Rather than addressing the issue directly, she stated that the earlier communication may have involved new staff and that the original lenses could not be reused, and therefore an additional charge would apply. However, this situation arose as a direct result of the staff's incorrect recommendation and misleading information, not due to any action on my part. I communicated this clearly, yet no effort was made to acknowledge responsibility or offer a reasonable resolution. Due to the urgency of needing functional glasses and the manager's refusal to resolve the matter, I felt compelled to pay the additional $147 at that time. This charge was incurred solely to correct an issue caused by the store's own guidance, rather than any preference or error on my part. Since then, I have contacted customer service twice and have been waiting for more than two weeks for a resolution. I understand that the store manager has characterized this situation as a matter of personal preference ("not liking the style"), which is inaccurate. This experience has been extremely disappointing and unfair. The misleading advice, the unexpected charge, and the manager's unprofessional behavior have caused significant inconvenience and loss of trust. read more

The Wildwood doctor, A. Keller, is very knowledgeable about the eyes. With God's help she initially knew the steps to take in restoring my lost eyesight due to glaucoma . I visited the office again after a Specialist inserted a stunt in my eyes and I experienced what appeared to be abnormal symptoms . She again was instrumental in taking steps to address the issue. The staff at Wildwood are also a gem. They are customer focus, knowledgeable and professional. They insure your eyecare needs are met. The two times I've been to this optometrist for my daughter and I, I've noticed that this place over books patients, they don't give you the time you need, and you feel rushed. Today I went for the third time and was met by the assistant manager Katie in the reception. My daughter needed her glasses to be looked at because of some issues with them. Katie was rude and very short with any questions we would ask--not only was she rude to us but also rude to some of the staff and embarrassed them in front of the patients. She would walk away as we were asking questions, mumbling about something but never addressing our concerns. I definitely say to avoid this place and find a much better establishment. read more

I would not recommend this location. The doctor is nice, but you will be charged upgrades for your glasses that you were not consulted on or given information on. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses; one for me and one for my family member and both were so strong we had to return them for new lenses. The new lenses are still incorrect and we can't wear them, but I'm calling it a wash at this point just to avoid returning. In over 20 years of wearing glasses, I've never had issues until I came here. Besides that, Mandy, the office manager is the most unprofessional, rude human I've ever encountered in my life. It's a wonder how she is ever allowed to work with the public let alone run an office. I literally have no idea how the other women in the office work with her. Due the conditon of my Meibomian glands in my eyelids I underwent the TearCare procedure. In August, I was treated again with TearCare. Amazingly the condition of the glands had gone from the worst to the best condition. The procedure is expensive but totally worth it to maintain the condition of my eyes and associated eyelid glants. read more

Ideally I'd give 3.5 Dr Keller and staff are friendly. Equipment is good. Location is great. Hours are fine. I just always get annoyed with the waiting for things and for always feeling like I need to spend more money on things I don't understand or do things that I don't know why I'm doing them. For instance, they got a new machine (is great to see that they are using things helpful to the patient) which I did the older machine last time. The difference is the new one does a full 360 image but... Really why would I need to do it especially if my last one looked fine? I did it anyway $30 bucks later. Then waiting again in the room, it would be nice if maybe they had their glasses options perhaps on a tablet you could look through or something. But nope just sitting waiting thinking of ways they could speed this up. By the end of the 45 minutes, I don't want to wait longer to do any more tests or look at glasses I just want to get back home or work. I also don't understand the benefit of being dilated or why I would leave the room to go to another place to then do it. Just seems like shuffling me around and that annoys me too. Finally, why do you need my blood pressure? (Not looking for a response here btw just giving you feedback of why I leave annoyed.) You do all these tests and things but at the end I only get told if my eyes changed presciption and what money I need to spend No update on any of the other random things you do. Just frustrating you spend 45 minutes, probably a fifth of it waiting in some sort of fashion to then be told really nothing, pay and leave. A summary of what you did, quick reasons why, and then how my results were would be nice. read more

We have had a great experience with this location of Clarkson Eyecare thus far. They got my wife's prescription correct and we picked out a nice frame that did get bent in the process of adding the lenses, but they quickly did a reorder on the frame to correct it no questions asked. Which we greatly appreciated. So far so good! read more

Scheduling the appointments for my husband and myself over the phone was easy. Lane was so pleasant and funny. It was very refreshing to have a human personable interaction in an age of automation. Dr. Keller is always professional and takes time to answer all my questions. Molly and Lauren were very patient with my husband who was getting fitted with contacts for the first time. Worst Doctor appointment I've ever had. Two young girls were so cold and impersonal. No one cared that I had an eye injury, just kept putting me through the tests. Then they dilate my eyes (I didn't think one should drive after this?) which made the injury unbearable! Then it's hurry me to my "contact lens fitting session" which includes me trying to put the contacts in my eye and I tell them my eyes hurt too bad to do this. 5 seconds later, "your contact lens fitting will be $59, now would you like to buy some glasses?" I felt like cattle being gauded to to the next phase without any explanation along the way. read more

Since when does Clarkson Eyecare in Wildwood, have the technician ask what language do you speak at home. I was surprised by the question and wondered why I was even being asked this question and what did it have to do with my yearly eye exam with Dr. Keller. I said English. The technician asked me again what language did I speak at home. I said English again. Just because I have long dark hair and eyes. Did I look like some sort of immigrant or something. This time i said I was Eastern European, Romania as a fact. I have been going to that location ever since it opened up many years ago. What's up there???? read more

What a great experience!! I normally hate going to the eye doctor, but the ladies of Clarkson Eyecare Wildwood made it a breeze. It started with the professional, yet courteous exam performed by Dr. Keller. She made me feel very comfortable and explained everything to me in terms I could understand. No Dr. jargon! Lastly, when it came to picking out glasses the staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They knew exactly which styles would look best on me. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend anyone else to do the same! read more

I did not have a good experience there. The staff members range all the way from wonderful and competent to edgy and stern to childishly naive. Since I am not there to make friends, and I am aware that people have vastly differing temperaments, this is understandable and not a big deal. BUT, upon receiving my gradient glasses, I discovered - whilst looking at the Sunshine and/or the streetlights - that there were "rays of light" spilling down my eyeballs. Not good. The glasses also made me feel like I was at a fun house at the circus - everything looked warped and wobbly. Figuring that gradient lenses were not a good fit for me, I promptly returned them, and the staff was very helpful. They sent the glasses back to make them distance only. Upon receiving THOSE back (a couple weeks later) I discovered that I could not see out of them at all. Either my prescription was wrong, or the lab did a terrible job. I returned them and asked for my money back. Since I'd paid cash, they told me they'd send me a check in two weeks (MINUS THE COST OF THE $72 ORIGINAL EYE EXAM.) No check was forthcoming, and when I called, I was informed that they had "refunded me cash." I was shocked and saw red. Fortunately, the wonderful, wonderful woman in billing promptly got to the bottom of the situation and sent me a check the next day. My advice to the competent staff members is to find another job. My advice to possible patrons is to go elsewhere. Also, for the record they do not know what tinted lenses are, never having heard of them. I have been getting my lenses tinted since the 1970s, so .... if I were you, I'd save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. This place does not make the grade. read more
