I had a pickleball injury and needed a quick consult. They don't typically take walk-ins but they agreed to at least take a look. Dr. Hill saw a retina issue and quickly set me up with a retinal surgery on the same day. They are now my primary eye care for life. Despite my 12+ years of using Hill they would not release my most recent prescription without a refraction exam and added expense. They had told me just weeks before the scrip was still good. Nice people for the most part; a crappy business model. I'll be moving on down the road. read more

I started at Hill Vision in Lake St. Louis about a year ago because the other eye doctor I'd been seeing left his practice and I wanted somewhere closer to home. Other than one morning that I had to wait over 30 minutes to see the doctor, I had no problems with the office. Then, at the end of November, I was in a car accident, my glasses broke and I ended up in the hospital. I called on Monday and left a message that I'd like a copy of my prescription to be sent to another vision place thinking that, when I left the hospital, I could go there and get new glasses. No answer and no fax to the vision place. I called again either Tuesday or Wednesday and someone answered the phone. I explain that my glasses broke in the accident, I'm in the hospital and I'd greatly appreciate if they could forward a copy of my prescription. "Oh, you signed no to the refraction question so we can't do that." Okay, I have no idea what that means but I've been in an accident, my glasses broke, I need the prescription that you have. "Well, but you marked no to the refraction question so, no, we can't do that." Still have no idea what "the refraction question" means because nobody bothered to explain it to me but, I guess I'll be finding a new doctor who puts more customer into their customer service. read more

I had Cataracts in both eyes and have worn glasses since middle school. Thanks to Dr. Gregory Hill I now have 20/20 vision and for the first time in years I can now see everything so colorful and clear and sharp vision for signs etc. Dr. Hill his nurses and anyone who may help are not only very pleasant but explain everything in detail and always ask if any questions. This past visit was the best eye care experience. I've heard they have all new staff and under new management. I hoped was true because last year my experience was extremely poor due to the staff! I even debated returning this year. The Doctors here are good but last year the staff was so rude and my contacts never even got ordered. I ended up ordering elsewhere. This year was much better from the front office lady (did not get name but she had a mask on), to the nurse named Andrea, to Doctor, to picking out my new glasses. It's true, theres a lot of new faces here this year and they all seem very experienced!! I felt educated and was very comfortable the whole time! Andrea was so pleasant and explained everything she was doing. I worked the longest with the lady that was in the eyeglass shop named Pam. She helped me get new glasses this year. I found out later that Pam is the new office manager there! She was just filling in the eyeglass shop for an absent employee. Andrea and Pam's knowledge and professionalism is remarkable and every office should have educated, bright chipper employees like this! It was a very busy place this day and watching Pam help multiple people simultaneously with ease was remarkable. I commend you for turning things around and finding new employees like this. The hard work staff provided this year was noteworthy . I left the office this year with such a positive feeling about my eye care. My eye is still messed up. The doctor didn't show for the 3 month follow-up, and the substitute doctor said I had to talk to the doctor that did the left eye cataract surgery. THAT'S WHAT I WAS THERE FOR! Ignoring my partial blindness they proceeded to examine my eyes to set up the right eye for surgery. All I wanted was for them to correct the damage they had done to my left eye, so they gave me another appointment 3 months later. This next visit wasn't considered as follow up, so they expected me to pay full price for another full examination, when all I wanted them to do was fix the damaged eye. Doctor Hill accused me of being an angry person, when the only problem I have in life is the eye he damaged during cataract surgery. He gave me drops and said they would call me in a week. They never called. I found another doctor to repair the damages eye and fix the other eye. The day of the operation is a rush rush. You, and many other patients will be given about 15 pages of fine print to read and sign, when no one can see with cataracts. The doctor will rush from room to room, one eye-ball after another. Then You'll drive to his other office and wait in the long line for hours to see his son. They are a team. The next day you will be blind. It's like looking through a glass of milk. This last about 10 days. With me, the problem is a large black border not allowing me to look left, and it's not going away. And the doctor wants to do my right eye, not fixing the damage he did to my left eye. read more

I was blind, but now I see Dr. Geoffrey Hill is the real deal, a truly gifted surgeon, and great practitioner. I was quite literally going blind and was not far from being unable to work. I am also a "hard" patient, in poor health and with one eye already having had a vitrectomy. I needed a partial corneal transplant, called DMEK. DMEK for me was very risky, but Dr. Hill was eager to take on the challenge, and man did he nail it to the wall! To be precise, he unfolded a single cell thick layer of tissue onto my cornea without touching it. That graft was placed perfectly. He literally could not have done a better job. The graft grew, and my eye sight is returning. Twenty-twenty vision is looking good. In addition to being a great surgeon, Dr. Hill is also a caring practitioner. I had a post-op emergency, one that left me in enormous pain and could have damaged my optic nerve. At 2:00 am on a Sunday morning, Dr. Hill had me in a chair in his office, and fixed it. Just like that. In many other, less spectacular ways, Dr. Hill and his staff have made it clear that they were completely committed to me have a good outcome.
