The biggest downfall is the caretaker and her family…read more After having multiple meetings with the manager of the cottage, I was told I'd have full access to the parking spots available, the fridge would be cleared out, and I'd have the space to do my event without interruption. This did not happen at all. Upon arriving there were cars parked in the spaces for this venue, the fridge was half full, and the caretaker has shown up throughout the event. The first time she showed up was when I first got there to tell me the do's and don'ts of the venue, she even told me I could not open the doors (even though the manager told me many times it would be no problem and in fact they would be open upon arriving). Then during the event the caretaker, her husband and her kids were walking all around and even playing right outside the door. While getting some forgotten things from my car, the caretaker's husband also came outside and was watching me take the forgotten things out. Lastly, while cleaning up the venue when the event was over the caretaker took it upon herself to come in and tell us to "get out or else". Not only did she threaten us, but she even got in the face of a child and told him he had to leave. I cannot believe the racism that unfolded in front of my eyes. I would not recommend this place again based off of the caretaker's actions.

There really some foreign exchange kids, and those are the only ones getting help to take the AP courses. The other kids are just there to stay away from Juvenile detention. The campus is open, which presents a major safety issue. The facilities are falling apart. This entire school is a sham and should be shut down. They are preying on parents that are trying to help their children find structure and discipline, but the reality is sending your kids her is sending them to the lion's den. Your child will not recover, they will only get worse an pick up worse habits like drugs, stealing, or not even going to class since nobody is actually monitoring these kids.

That's how we've always been treated, and it's how we'll always think of the incredible group of people here. The care and attention both of our children have received has been nothing short of exemplary. They've truly thrived at Little Pals, and we can already see how the foundation this school provided has played a big role in their success beyond preschool. It's a big thing to send your firstborn off to school. Harder still when that happens at the tail end of a pandemic like it did for us. Is this the right school academically? Will my child adapt socially? Will they thrive? Little Pals checked all the boxes and then some. They made our children feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for, while also setting high academic standards. And they did an outstanding job with us parents too! Calming our nerves (especially this parent), and making everything feel right immediately. We've never doubted our choice for an instant. Our children leave Little Pals with a solid academic foundation: recognizing and writing letters and numbers, early sight words, counting to 100, and reading beginner books with confidence. Their handwriting improved tremendously; they developed strong problem solving skills and a genuine love of learning. They still talk about songs, lessons, and moments from class. It's incredible to see how far ahead they've been - both academically and socially - compared to where I remember being at that age. Communication is excellent. In addition to parent/teacher conferences and detailed reports, the teachers were always available to chat. I never felt rushed, and I can be quite talkative! There are field trips, an open house, Christmas concerts, and family night, all of which made us feel connected to the school and involved in our children's early education. There are always activities and plenty of pictures. Our kids made friends - and we made friends too! We've experienced just about every aspect of Little Pals, from the toddler room to aftercare for our first grader. Our kids attended summer camp here, and even brought their cousins along! That's how much we trust and value this place. I truly cannot say enough good things about this school. Little Pals has given our children not only a loving and nurturing environment, but a true head start in life--academically, emotionally, and socially. Thank you Little Pals, for everything!

Set on manicured grounds in the shadow of Storm King Mountain and just down the road from West Point, SKS is an educational community with an impressive 150 year history (see: https://sks.org). My nephew teaches here. He lives here, with his charges and family. He is an extraordinary educator and reflects the sensibilities of this place. His colleagues are just like him. SKS is exclusive in the sense of expense and rigor (hence not for everyone) but it is not your stereotypical UK snobatorium -- flush with secret handshakes and trust fund teens. It is elite, sure -- but in a good way -- like Yelp; with a Bohemian vibe. Were I in the market for a prep school that boards their students, SKS would be high on my list.

My otolaryngologist recommended Hudson Valley Speech & Swallowing, and thankfully they quickly scheduled my consultation. I met McKenzee, an outstanding voice therapist and human being. She assessed my needs and provided me with numerous resources for practice and instruction. After weeks of effort, it became clear that I would need surgery although I had made great progress. McKenzee encouraged, educated and inspired me throughout one of the most difficult times in my life. She approached each of our sessions with enthusiasm and great preparation. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together, even though many times I was frustrated by my own physical limitations; and left each session with practical strategies as well as an increased motivation to improve. I have always looked forward to my voice sessions. Hudson Valley Speech & Swallowing is a very happy place. The office staff is cheerful and extremely accommodating. They work hard to explain insurance issues and always go out of their way to help with scheduling. My four year old child just completed her first year of pre-K here…read more I was impressed with the school and teachers. I was a bit apprehensive at first because it was so much cheaper than the other private Pre-K schools we looked at but within the first few weeks we were impressed. The teachers were very engaged and my child, who is shy, took to the teachers right away. I loved that they would get homework and the arts and crafts they did were adorable. There were a lot of field trips and off-site events - awesome for kids. Security is very important here - buzzed in entry, visual recognition of caregiver before child can leave, etc. The class was very diverse. There were easily four or five bilingual children (Indian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian).
