I can not say enough wonderful things about CLASS ACADEMICS. Prior to starting CLASS last summer, my 4 year old had no interest in coloring or even holding a pencil. After only a week or two working directly with Ms. Colleen he was holding the pencil correctly, writing and tracing with such confidence. Ms. Colleen has a wonderful way that she connects with her students. She knows how to get them interested in learning. All of her class exercises and educational games made learning fun and exciting and I saw that everytime our son came home. My son is now in Kindergarten. We went to his school's Open House last night and his teacher had nothing but great things to say about him. She told us how she can tell he has a strong base and foundation. We mentioned that he was getting tutored at CLASS and the teacher said, "well I don't know what they are doing over there but I'd sure like to know!!" She went on to say that after her initial assessment with our son, he is well on his way and to keep it up. I'm so glad I found CLASS Academics. It all started with my son's atrocious penmanship. I was amazed by his improvements. He ended up winning an award at school for turning in the neatest work! Then we moved onto reading and writing. He surprisingly struggled with some math this year, which wasn't a problem to add into his sessions. From day 1, he has loved coming here for tutoring. His first tutor was wonderful and had left. He cried so much after her last day. As sad as it sounds, I was extremely touched that he had developed such a close bond with her. I was a little bit nervous about him starting with a new tutor, but again, CLASS Academics has impressed me. His now not-so-new tutor, Irving, has been amazing. He's kind, caring and patient. After my daughter started receiving tutoring from Ms. Colleen at CLASS Academics her math skills, reading skills and science curiousity have all sky-rocketed. My wife and I saught out tutoring for our daughter because she wasn't being challenged enough in her school. We noticed our daughter was much more interested in learning compared to her peers and that the class wasn't really keeping up with her abilities and that she was growing bored with school. My wife and I tried ourselves to quench her curiousity, but as time went on we determined that we needed someone that knows how to teach and that could make it fun. Ms. Colleen turned out to be that person. Our daughter is now in kindergarten. She is currently reading at a 4th grade level, doing multiplication and fractions and just finished a science project in which she learned about making a hypothesis, testing it and determining the results or conclusion of the experiment. After my daughter did a year of Kindergarten at a private Montessori school I felt like she'd become behind and felt that it had made things worse for her instead of better, like we'd hoped and been promised. I had her tested and was very worried to see that she was SIGNIFICANTLY behind. This happened at the end of the school year. I decided to work with her every single day during the summer to help her catch up, hoping this would make a significant difference. At the end of the summer there were certain things she just could not seem to grasp/remember. I became very worried that she had some sort of a learning disability. I took her to a center to have her tested and they referred me to CLASS Academics. We immediately started her four days a week, at CLASS. My daughter started first grade unable to write her numbers correctly (she just could not write them going the right way no matter how much she practiced) and at a lower K writing and reading level. She has been attending CLASS, four sessions a week, for just over three months now and she has gone up SEVEN reading levels and has improved by 87 sight words, this progress was determined by her school teacher, who was astonished at her improvement. Honestly, I am astonished as well because I tried SO HARD to teach her myself for just as long of a time with not much success. They are so wonderful. They are trained in so many different learning styles that they were able to tailor a learning plan and a teaching plan to her needs. We feel like every penny we have spent has been on the greatest investment we've EVER made. She just ended her first trimester of first grade and received an award for her academic growth. And, she was moved into a higher reading/writing group. On a completely different note, Colleen is insanely clean and organized which is the icing on the cake for me. All of the teachers are SO nice and professional. I have been 100% happy with every detail of this experience. We have on-going sessions with all the teachers and they are all wonderful. We are huge fans of CLASS Academics Tutoring. My 12 year old 6th grader started a few months ago.
