A friend recommended Mathnasium, so I decided to give it a try. At first, my plan was just to get her short-term help with the topics she was struggling with. After only a couple of months, I noticed a huge difference--she was doing better in school and could complete most of her math homework with confidence. On the occasions she didn't understand, I loved that she could bring her homework to Mathnasium and get the support she needed to truly grasp the concepts. Fast forward almost two years, and my daughter now loves math. At our recent parent-teacher conference, I was told she is excelling and may even be moved into honors math next year! A huge thank you to Kristine for being such an incredible tutor. You've made my daughter feel happy, comfortable, and confident in her abilities. Your work is truly changing lives and impacting children's futures in such positive ways. My daughter even says she never wants to stop coming here! I highly recommend Mathnasium to any parent whose child is struggling in math. This is one of the best investments you can make for their future. The confidence they gain here is absolutely priceless. Much thanks to Rob, Christine and all the team for the amazing work you do! Claudia Valdivia

With the limited time, Ms Sharon has efficiently and effectively managed a curriculum that invoked a student's sense of wonder and motivation. We trusted her to keep us informed of the student's struggles and success. Great communication style to engage the student and inform the parents. Highly recommended. Very flexible schedule and willingness to accommodate for busy parents.

Mr. Thien is an excellent AP calculus and AP physics tutor, and Mr. Tu is amazing at Algebra and Geometry. My daughter loves Ms. Bri for her friendliness and ability to make Chemistry fun to learn. The owners, Ms. Jeani and Mr. Danny, are very professional, accommodating, responsive, and super helpful . They always try their best to help find a tutor that best fits a student's needs. That's why we started out with just one kid doing tutoring but ended up enrolling all 3 after seeing the amazing results. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality tutoring center.

So I've been volunteering as a mentor for Project Motivate (PM) for almost a year and I'm so glad I…read morefound them through VolunteerMatch! Project Motivate is the first Vietnamese-American mentoring program of its kind . You are paired up with a Vietnamese youth (of the same gender for the school year) and the program has a set schedule of meeting every Wednesday night from 6pm-9pm (that was the schedule for this year) where mentor and mentee all meet in a classroom . I drive every Wednesday evening from my house in LA to Huntington Beach to tutor my mentee. Because that's how I strongly I believe in what they do. My mentee is such a sweetheart, she's very inquisitive and loves to read as much as I do. So naturally we connect immediately. Even though when she first joined the program she was very very shy and refuses to even make direct eye contact when talking - seeing how she had grown in the past year to finding her own voice and gradually being comfortable in her own skin has been extremely rewarding for me. Naturally, being a mentor is something that one has to not only want to do but also has to have the time for , I'm blessed that I'm at a point in my life now where I can give back in this way. To give you an idea of who the other mentors are in the program with me this year: there are couple attorneys, a couple bio-engineers, a couple of social workers, a research analyst, a couple film makers , and a handful of college students who have all come together to volunteer our time once a week. The program also arranges activities for mentors and mentees to do on one Saturday every month. By the way this may sound funny, but please don't feel like you have to be Vietnamese (or even Asian) to be a part of this organization we have volunteers in the program who aren't! If you have heard of this organization or came across it somehow and is debating on weather to be a part of it - feel free to ask me any questions! You may change a child's life! Cheers!
