Our son was on track to earn a college scholarship and was Nationally ranked in men's gymnastics. However, he was failing math putting his dream of competing at the collegiate level in jeopardy. We contacted Martin who explained that there was no simple fix, but that he would do all he could do to help bring his grade up. Martin has been a blessing! My daughter was struggling in her advanced math class as a freshman in high school. Somehow we found Martin and he made math so much easier for her. She would come home from school saying the new math concept is confusing. Then after an hour session she'd say "yeah, it's easy. I got this." She worked with Martin all 4 years of high school. My daughter has been coming here for a few months now and I have to say Martin is incredible. We've been looking for a tutor for awhile, trying out different places ( mathnasium, math professors, etc...) but wasn't able to find someone who understands what she was learning and why she was struggling. Thankfully we found Martin. Not only has my daughters grade improved dramatically but she looks forward to going to her class and not so stressed out all the time. Martin is very knowledgeable, effective, a gifted teacher, and his easy going demeanor makes him very fun and approachable to his students. My sons have been seeing him for SAT/ACT enhancement help and have also come to him when they need help clarifying a lesson their high school math classes. They feel very comfortable with him, enjoy his teaching approach and have improved since having him as a tutor. I love that they feel a lot more confident with their math & testing abilities and it shows in their test results! I just want to say thank you to Martin! My daughter on a cram basis had to retake the ACT test to qualify for the next level of academic scholarship at her #1 choice college. In a very short period of time (through both their hard work), her ACT score moved up 4 points and earned her an additional $4000 a year academic scholarship for 4 years--a savings of $16,000--that's what I call a good return on your investment. Additionally, he is tutoring her in calculus and she is tracking to receiving an "A". Recently she was working on a really tough problem for extra credit on a Sunday and she texted Martin for help....he jumped right in to get her pointed in the right direction. Other times, late nights when she is studying for a test and is in tears so frustrated by not understand something, she texted Martin and (maybe we got lucky) but he responded back and totally put her anxiety to rest. My son is a strong academic student & strives for excellence, however, he has always had some anxiety & frustration when it came to math class. I was referred to Martin from a friend. My daughter is now a sophomore and he has been tutoring her for 2 years now. He helped her through Geometry Honors and Algebra 2 Honors at a very competitive high school. Because of his one on one tutoring and help even outside of the regular tutoring hours, she received A's in all her math classes. I am now going to enroll my 6th grade daughter with him to help her connect the dots and lapses in her math skills. He is very technologically savvy and this helps because Martin and my daughter do the work on their computers and all the work is saved. She uses the notes later to review what they learned. He is conveniently located at the HB library and if I am running errands and can't pick her up on time, she is able to sit in the library and do some quiet studying on her own. He has really helped her self confidence and her preliminary test scores (sophomore PSAT) such that she has received mail from some of the top universities as a sophomore!
