I came here for a cake and was extremely disappointed. It tasted dry and I could tell it had been frozen previously (I.e. Not fresh as they would have you believe). Was here at 4:45 today for last minute desert selection because Sweet Eats Bakery was closed . Bought one pound of cookies and a Red Velvet cake . The cookies were opened tonight and I must say every one tastes like the potpourri they have blaring in the bakery . Disgusting . I will never go back . I am hoping the cake isn't the same . Great experience! Classic cheesecake is our favorite place to shop for a cake or cupcakes, so when I decided to order a special birthday cake for my son I call Sharon. I emailed her few cake pictures and told her about changes I want to make. My son loves cheesecake but I wasn't sure I want to go with it. Sharon such a sweet lady! She listened to all my ideas, concerns, doubts and offered her valuable suggestions. We finalized cake design and decided to go with the chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream. Sharon gave me few cupcakes, she wanted me to be sure about the cake flavors. Cake was delivered in time to my house. It was a sensation. It was THE perfect cake for my son birthday! Very good red velvet cake. The best I tasted since moving to South Jersey. Not to sweet, you can really taste the chocolate cake beneath the red dye. The icing is perfect. Junior's in Brooklyn on Flatbush Avenue now have serious competitor as the best red velvet on the east coast. read more

Although I think the quality of other baked goods at Classic Cake are superior to other bakery's products in the South Jersey area, the engagement cake was not. It was beautifully decorated as ordered. However, the taste of this cake for the price did not distinguish it from any other cake that I could have ordered from another bakery. It was ordinary and the icing between the layers was far too thick. Less icing and more cake would have been nice. A lot of money for a disappointing product. The tiramisu was NOT tiramisu. It was cheesecake. No mascarpone. The lady fingers were not soaked. No espresso. The cocoa powder that I expected to be in the middle was chocolate cheesecake. Classic Cake made my wedding cake last year and our guests Loved It!! It not only looked amazing but I was told it tasted even better than it looked. I had no idea how good it was as my wife and I were so busy at the reception that the only piece we tasted was from the small part of the first piece. Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary and as to the tradition we saved our cake top in the freezer. Being the skeptic I am, early yesterday I ordered a new small cake exactly like the original because I couldn't believe that a 1 year old frozen cake could possibly be palatable and I wanted to be proactive for my wife. The moment of truth came later last night, we unwrapped the meticulously covered cake and took a huge bite. IT WAS AMAZING!!! I couldn't believe it. Cute little place, friendly staff. Almond cookies are a must: so light it melts in the mouth and it's perfect with coffee. Once I had a cupcake there and it was dry and tasteless, but maybe they just had a bad cupcake day...The rum cake is excelent: moist, light and not too sweet. read more

I got my wedding cake, son's first birthday and the latest- my mother's surprise party Retirement cake from here. All unbelievably delicious. I live in center city and pay extra to have it delivered to me- its worth it. My son's was an adorable tiger cub cake in vanilla pound with van buttercream- it made the party. The retirement cake was choc chip pound with van buttercream, beautifully decorated with peach, pink and yellow flowers and dusted with a very delicate sparkle. Very happy. read more

I ordered a 12 inch round cake for our anniversary party with 30 guests --- pound cake with fudge filling and decorated with some buttercream flowers down the side. It looked pretty. Frankly, I was disappointed. The cake was dry, not moist or buttery like a pound cake should be. The frosting was just so-so. For $80 I would have thought that it would have tasted delicious, given that it was from Classic Cake. We had some left over from the party but I don't plan on eating it which says a lot, because I am a dessert lover. read more

I first started to come here to get French Macarons which are very difficult to find in NJ. The first two times I came here, I was able to get the red velvet flavor which was exceptional. However, I have visited a few times afterwards (3 times) and the French Macarons I received were extremely stale, so much so that I simply couldn't eat them when I got home. Mind you, Macarons are pretty expensive, averaging above $1.25 per cookie so I was quite disappointed each time. My husband had the same complaint for cookies he bought from Classic Cake. I have also had cupcakes from here (lemon and blueberry; red velvet; chocolate cupcakes) and unfortunately, I have found their baked goods to be dry and heavy. I cannot comment on their made to order cakes, because I have never had one and never will given my experience with their "ready to eat" treats. Although the staff is very nice, and helpful, I no longer go here for my French Macaroons and sweet treats. read more

I am getting married at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor, NJ and they go through Classic Cakes for all their weddings. I was annoyed to have to drive all the way out to Cherry Hill to do my tasting and pick the style of cake that I wanted (considering I live about 1 1/2 hours north) but it was well worth the drive! Kristina assisted us and she made it one the most fun and stress free parts of my wedding planning process. I brought my fiancee, mother and mother-in-law to be with me and I'm glad I had all the extra help because it was tough narrowing down all the delicious flavors of cake. I brought a picture of the cake I wanted and a fabric swatch of the color flowers I wanted on the cake. I highly recommend doing that because Kristina said they could replicate the cake exactly and the swatch would help them get the exact color I wanted (plum colored flowers can mean different things to different people). Their cake/icing are amazing - we ended up doing a 4-layer cake and each layer is going to be a different flavor with different icing - we just couldn't decide on one. Don't be afraid to ask if there's something specific you want. We wanted one layer to have cannoli filling and Classic Cakes had no problem accommodating us. They provided different options so we could save a bit of money as well. So happy I had the chance to experience this. I know so many people who get married at a venue and the cake is part of the package deal. Which basically means the standard no frills wedding cake that usually taste stale and only has two options - chocolate or vanilla. read more
