First impression is everything. Had high expectations based off of reviews. Trying to find a decent barber to take my kids since moving from NY and having a hard time finding a decent barber. Scheduled an appt only to get a text right before my appt that my barber had an emergency and couldn't come. Walk in to speak with the other barbers and everyone apparently is too booked to accommodate me. I have my two kids waiting in the car and now have to drive all the way back home. I would atleast think the owner or other barbers should step in and try to accommodate me and if they have time between appts could offer to start one child. Moved to CT a couple months ago from Houston so I had to find a legit barbershop asap. Came here first thing in the morning on a Saturday and it was packed already. Employees suggested to make appointments but I let them know it was my first time. Basic haircut is 15 for walk in and 25 for appointments. Had my hair cut by 4 different barbers. I went in as a walk in looking to get a haircut and while I was sitting there two of the barbers started to get into an argument about a joke that one had made involving the others girlfriend. The barber who had an issue with the joke quit on the spot and began to pack up his equipment. The other barber said something which led to a physical altercation between the two. Hit or miss depending on who you get. Some of the guys are really good and I went back because of my early experience. Probably had the best haircut I've gotten in a while. That's why I go back and don't mind the wait. The problem is unless you make an appointment you're like the unwanted step child. Watch out for the price. The posted amount is confusing. Don't trust the photos, they look amazing, but the work doesn't match. My son needed a professional haircut and they gave him an uneven fade(though not really a fade; his entire head is cut pretty much the same length, but the back sticks straight out) and they cut the the top of his hair extremely short. My son and I have been going to this barber shop for a few years now. All I can say is that they actually care about the customers. The owner David is a understanding and devoted person I work pretty late everyday and most shops are closed by the time I get out of work. All I have to do is give him a call ahead if time or send him a message on the barber shop profile on Facebook and he or one of the barbers are willing to work with you. Stopped in today after reading the reviews on yelp. Very few reviews but all positive. My 8 year old son wanted his haircut with his hockey # shaved into the side of his head. This is the very first barber shop that I have brought my son too, 7 years ago, and we have not gone else where since. Every time we go, my son is fully satisfied and pleased. The owner, David, is extremely talented giving the best advise and options for cuts. David works with you and your schedule. He will do his best to fit you in no matter what. He wants nothing but to make sure that everyone is pleased. On top of his kindness, his ability to cut and design shapes and styles on children amazes me. My son got his first design styled when he was 4,. As antsy and whiney as he was David stayed with pure patience until the cut and design with completed with perfection. (since then he has had a Vikings horn, stars, stripes, lines, etc cut and styled in) I recommend this place to everyone that I know. And if you are unable to get David, all the other barbers are JUST as skilled. It's a "home like" feeling where you know you can go and be yourself and get amazing service at the same time.
