I stopped in here on recent trip to Colorado and was blown away by the selection of jewelry. They have something for everyone, whether eye-catching or more muted. I bought a beautiful pair of topaz/citrine earrings, and the salespeople were so helpful (not pushy at all) as I made my decision. They have a particularly great selection of rings of all different sizes and gemstones. Also notable is their display of Native American jewelry. I would have loved if they could provide some sort of certificate of authenticity for their pieces, or at least some more background about where/when they came from, as I think this information is a reasonable expectation when making a big purchase. read more

There are southwestern pieces, classic Tiffany's pieces, and older English style items. I come in here often as there are always different things to look at each time you come in. There are even items you wouldn't think about loving as much as you do when you see them. I bought a set of antique Egyptian style cufflinks, and turn them into matching necklaces. I have been to my fair share of estate jewelers and stores all over the country. This one is far and away the most impressive! It has the most interesting, the most eclectic, and the best inventory in a most beautifully edited space. And nothing sits stale. I don't know how the owner does it. But she does! And she is very friendly & always there to help. The prices are a bit high, overall. Understandably so. But I just wish there were more of a range in price point. Perhaps bringing in the more unique looking costume jewelry that can be purchased there, as well. There are also sooo many pieces out there in the "estate" realm that are exceptional looking but were done using other materials (like crystal in place of diamonds or colored glass in place of other gems). This place is one of a kind and has a lot of amazing jewelry. My boyfriend and I had been bouncing around the idea of getting - gulp - engaged. I really wasn't feeling the whole diamond engagement ring look but I really had no other idea what was out there for us. Confession: It is not even a blood diamond thing. Truth be told, if I really loved the way diamond rings looked I would hire my own tribe of 7 year old kids to dig for a good one on my behalf. But diamond engagement rings don't do it for me. I barely ever notice if people have them on. I start talking non-diamonds and antiques. So my boyfriend suggests Classic Facets. I'm not sure what to think. I had never been in and I had the impression from the window displays that it was full of old-lady broaches. Boy was I wrong. This place is full of beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry of all types. Here's the other thing. These women are a riot. They are kooky and amusing and ridiculously helpful. I was honestly very nervous to be trying on engagement rings for the first time. It is really exciting to think of getting married but also nerve-racking for the nontraditional, non-girly girl type. These women joined in our quest for a non-diamond and encouraged me to try on just about every ring in the store without smothering me to death. And I learned that you never really know whether you like a style until you see it on your finger. Well, I found a ring. An amazingly beautiful ring. A one-of-a-kind, 1950s antique, can't stop staring at my hand, compliments from strangers in bars, turns out I DO love engagement rings, ring. I never ever would have known that this is what I love. I needed their guidance, their massive variety of rings, and their no pressure attitude to make it all happen (and an awesome boyfriend). So he went back later to buy the ring, got the band changed from yellow gold to white gold and proposed to me (hells yeah!). After he proposed, he told me that he had the BEST experience with them all of the way through the purchase process. So... before I begin raving about Classic Facets, all you yelpers should know that the Beth F (the other reviewer) is now my fiance - and the wonderful, thoughtful, handsome, ring-purchasing gentleman she is referring to is, in fact, me. And while she clearly enjoyed her experience shopping at this marvelous store, I was the one who frankly, did all the hard, nerve-wracking work and had the most interaction with the people at the store. We first went to Classic Facets on a whim - my girlfriend (now fiance) is not a big jewelry-wearer to begin with, and her reaction to her friends diamond engagement rings was usually along the lines of "ooh. so shiny!". Needless to say, this is not particularly helpful to somebody about to plunk down a very large sum of money on what is certainly the most critical and nerve-wracking purchase of ones life. Hoping to find at least a starting point at which to begin my engagement-ring buying experience, I hustled her into Classic Facets, asking her to just point out the ones she sort of liked (red stones vs blue stones, big vs little, silver vs gold, etc) so I'd at least have some vestige of a clue what i was doing. The only things I knew for sure was that I wanted to buy her a ring that 1. she loved and 2. that was unique. As it turned out, I scored on both counts. All the jewelry in Classic Facets is either antique or on consignment from an estate, so their collection is unique and ever changing and the rings all tell a story. From early 1900's engagement rings to 1950s cocktail broaches and everything in between, the pieces that they sell are all interesting and one-of-a-kind. Trust me fellas, there's a BIG difference between handing somebody a ring with a history than something you picked out from the "lovers collection" at Kay Jewelers. One says "class", while the other basically says "you suck". As for the staff, they couldnt have possibly been any better - everyone of them knows a ton about jewelry and about the stones themselves (they are licensed gemologists) and they REALLY want you to like what you get. Their suggestion to replace the gold band with a white gold one really took the ring to a whole other level of awesomeness. For quite obvious reasons, I was extremely nervous about this whole process - but they really made it much much better, They remembered me by name every time i called, they let me (and my friends) come and visit the ring while i finished paying it off and they didnt get irritated with my constant state of semi-panic throughout the whole process. In fact, I think they were kind of amused by it. They were universally warm, thoughtful, and low-pressure, and like Beth said, they had a certain New York-style kookiness that made me feel right at home. I'll admit another thing - I was holding out on writing this until I got my (free) appraisal back... after all, they could be the nicest people on earth, but if my I paid more than the ring was truly worth, then there would be a few less stars in my rating. As it turns out, the ring is actually worth more than I paid - so booyah for me! Oh yeah, The ring I (she) picked out was from a 1940's star sapphire surrounded by twelve small diamonds. Judging by the fact that she not only said yes to my proposal, but she also started stopping strangers on the street to show off her ring, I'd say that it was a smashing success. But even if she is not there, I have always found any Employee to be super helpful and full of information. My husband and I have bought multiple items here and it is always different. Dani and Theresa were SO helpful and helped me pick 2 pieces that were "me". They both spent a good deal of time going through their archives to make sure I found something I really loved. Such wonderful customer service on top of a very carefully curated store! I really wish I lived in town because I would probably spend a lot of time just admiring their beautiful inventory. I remember going to classic facets with my boyfriend when I first moved to Colorado. Though I didn't buy anything that visit, I thought to myself 'wow, I hope I get my engagement ring from here!' Fast forward about five years and my boyfriend proposed while we were out snowshoeing. He knew I have a unique style and can be really picky, so he chose to forego the ring and just went for it when the moment was right. So my first thought, after 'yes!' And 'yay!' was 'gotta go to classic facets'. Even though we're living up in Fort Collins now, it was worth the hour drive. The selection is amazing, we saw rings ranging from Edwardian to 1960s, and from $900 to $11,000. There's really something for all tastes. We chose a real stunner from circa 1940, set so well that if you look from only a foot away(!) the center stone looks HUGE. Vintage jewelry is the best. So much more thought and design went into this stuff, so much more beauty, originality, and history than something practically factory made at today's chain jewelers. But there is way more here than just engagement rings! What really drew me in that first visit 5 years ago were the cameos in the window display. There are also plenty of beautiful vintage earrings and necklaces too. Lots of great stuff in the traditional birthday months stones. And the employees are so sweet and knowledgeable. I hate to give away this secret but this store is a one-of-a-kind jewelry heaven. The items they have, even in the drawers in the back, are amazing. Make sure you have plenty of parking because you could spend all day in this store. My love is art deco, art nouveau and Victorian jewelry, which is normally hard to find, but there's an abundance of it here, and it's authentic. Mikki and Theresa are so friendly and helpful.
