Deceitful Evil Bad Business!…read more The woman who was working behind the counter seemed like she owned the place, but either way she had HORRIBLE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP skills. Scam! My daughter showed me a photo of a lamp she wanted there and I described it to the only person working there that evening. The worker woman knew which one it was and started leading me to it. I saw it on the shelf, but she walked me further to one that was still in a box. She knew the one on display didn't have chipped feet (defective) and she purposely grabbed one that she must have known had several chips on it. She acted like it was better because it was already boxed for me (in a used box, not a nice box that went with the lamp). The perfect lamp on the shelf could have easily been picked up, but she went out of her way to quickly grab the broken boxed one. I guess I am a fool for trusting her. She acted like she was doing me a "favor" by grabbing one that was already boxed, and she wrapped some bubble wrap on it for "safe keeping"- but it was actually to keep me from looking. When I safely transported it straight back to Denver and unwrapped it from the Home Depot used box she had wrapped it in, I then saw that this $120 lamp had chips and broken parts on the decorative bottom. This woman's demeanor was sour and unpleasant from the very beginning, so I should have unwrapped the lamp at the counter and checked it. Silly me trusted that no one would think that because the customer was from out of town, they probably wouldn't return a chipped, defective and overpriced lamp. Premeditated and evil. As soon as she knew which lamp I was describing she immediately went in for the scam and charged full price for a lamp that she knew was broken and then hid it under the pretense that it was a favor. Wow!

Very rude person at the cashier. I tried for a few minutes to make eye contact with the person at the register before saying something because I didn't want to interrupt the transactions. I was very clearly showing excitement about looking at the rings and smiling. I even told the person checking out "sorry to be right here these rings are great!" And the woman at the cash register didn't look at me. She even started placing the bags right over where I was looking despite there being plenty of room on the other side. I felt very unwelcome and then looked at the person with me and said never mind it's okay we can go! And the cashier said to everyone around me "so impatient. So impatient" several times. You'd think they'd want to encourage excitement over their items, or at least say hi! I was trying to be respectful of their interactions. This person should not have a person facing job. I never leave negative yelp reviews but this was unbelievable. I was ready to spend a decent amount of money on some new rings but will never be back thanks to the rudeness and inhospitality. It's SO easy to be friendly and kind. There's other cute boutiques and stores - avoid this one!

So, moms in town from Northwest of Chicago, we planned this great day and of course I made my mom…read moreand my wife pack an overnight bag just in case we stayed somewhere not to far from where we live in Littleton. We let mom know to pack for all weather especially cool-to-cold. We made it to Nederland around 11:30ish and when I opened my door, I looked for my jacket as a resident of CO now for almost 11 years, I knew I forgot to pack anything long sleeve let alone warm. Anyway, went to some shops looking for a hoodie of some type and was completely turned off by the 89$ price tags of items that are worth maybe 60$, after markup and I only say this as I once had an apparel company. I refused and and we walked the strip, my wife said; "Omg, we were just talking about how awesome Alpaca is, they have a store," so I held my breath as she and my mom entered. I enjoyed a bevy at a brewery across the way as I was a bit cold and not a shopper. Called when finished and they were still in the store. Fear over took me, and I was dry mouthed scrambling thinking of what we were to eat for the next year. Alpaca fur, is one of the most amazing textiles for comfort, more valuable then some of the finest silk, and warmer than any wool or synthetics I have ever known. My wife was checking out and asked me to try on the hoodie she bought me. As I gazed to the price rack, as I'd fought the battle of not taking my hat off first, my mouth dropped In awe. Lolololol.. Long story short, her hoodie and mine, plus some socks and a hat, just over another overpriced sweatshirt with a logo that was pressed in bulk. The couple who owns the store is just about the classiest and sweetest people you can hope for in a touristy town. Quality: when I put the sweatshirt on, I was confused as to why I was super comfortable and instantly warm! we have, as I mentioned in chap one, looked into and have some knowledge of Alpaca's and their coats. Service: Literally the best in any town in CO I have ever been to. Not pushy, retail stalkers, or anything other than just awesome people working hard to run a small business in town dependent of out of staters, tourists, etc... I have never felt more secure about purchasing something and now backing and bragging about a new product and the people that sold it!!! Without a doubt, you will get the best gear, with be best service and such reasonable pricing anywhere in or near Eldora. Side not: I hated the sock. They were horribly warm and comfortable, LOL... my wife's feet get cold all the time and since she has bought these socks, she is in heaven. my feet are warm all Of the time, so hating them is a joke! I have never been more happy to write and 10000000% recommend this store! Thank you both so much for introducing us to so many options and making our stop worth more than the instant need, and providing us with quality that will last for a long time. Upon having a fun conversation with the lady at the gallery, she informed my good friend Zach and I about Quacker Gift Shop and all their cute trinkets! Apparently they have this one of kind local Coloradan soda that has CBD in it! They have wonderful fudge, but I kid you not, my friend could not tolerate the GHOST PEPPER FUDGE!! It was indeed, spookily spicy. I saw all kinds of wacky, tacky, fun ducks. Pilot ducks, firefighter ducks, mermaid ducks!?? I bought a whole set of mermaid ducks for $20.00. The big ducks went for $5.00 and the small, tiny ducks are for $2.00. They are apparently in business for over 10 years now and it's been a family favorite gift shop for a while now. There is a giant sized duck that you can pose next to (For Free) and make it a cute photo! Overall, fun service and great people. This place is worth visiting among all shops at Grand Lakes, CO.
