Fraudulent. Gary took our money in January. As of today (9/26) the fence is still not up. Months of excuses. We asked for our $ back multiple times. Obviously has no intention of being accountable for lies and excuses. Do yourself a favor, avoid them at all costs. Communication is non existent. Doesn't answer phone calls, ignores texts. Scam artist!. If possible, would have rated zero stars. When workers would show up, which has been rare, they are here a couple hours and leave. WARNING: Do not pay this business up front. Gary White sold my elderly mother a long list of services and then asked her to pay a large sum up front, $12,000. Although he promised that he would get them done within weeks way back in April, it's now July and half the list was either only half done or not even started. In June he demanded she pay the remaining balance, an additional $6000 dollars, despite acknowledging that the job had not been completed. When my elderly mother pointed out the job simply wasn't finished yet, he demanded she pay immediately or he'd sue her and then stormed out of her house. If you look online you will see this is not an uncommon pattern for Gary White or his business, especially with elderly folks. Buyer beware. His crew removed a beautiful 20+ year old ornamental tree that wasn't supposed to be removed but another tree they were supposed to completely dig out they simply cut off near the ground. My mom had asked several times if the tree had been dug up which she was told several times that it was, so she ran her lawnmower only to have the blade hit the trunk stump and break her riding mower. My mom is 74 and shouldn't have to put up with Gary's nonsense. I finally told my mom to stop talking to him and intervened. At first he was reasonable and told me everything would be corrected, but then went dark for over a week and I finally gave up. After originally telling me he would pay to fix the riding mower and do every single service I listed as outstanding, he went dark for over a week. I sent him an email and got not response at all. When he finally reemerged I told him my mom was no longer interested in working with him. Then he had the gall to ask for more money when I listed all the outstanding items, items he agreed were not done just two weeks prior. I can't recommend strongly enough that you find another business to give your money and DO NOT pay up front. Update: Gary is a bully and flat out lying that he doesn't know who I am as he called me today threatening to sue. But you don't need to take my word for it. Gary White and his crew prepared my house to accomodate my husband, who has Alzheimer's and has been in memory care for several months. They spent time reviewing my ideas and concerns, and offered alternatives for some of them that were less expensive and easier to do. They showed up when expected, did excellent work, and gave me good advice for future issues. I recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

I hired this company to do maintenance pruning and clean up. The work was satisfactory on that one job, but the cost was more than twice what I had paid previously for the same work and it was definitely "oversold" by Gary. Gary also required a 50% deposit up front which I had not ever experienced with other companies. Subsequently I made 4 calls to ask that they service my above ground watering system (discussed previously with the owner) and I am extremely disappointed to state that Gary did not even have the courtesy of calling me back. I would not recommend using this company. I am still cleaning up branches, etc. that were not noticeable when the work was first done, but are now obvious. To date the clean up I have been doing has filled 4 yard waste containers. I am almost 70 and recently dislocated a shoulder... it is very disheartening to have this unpleasant experience. read more

Classic Grounds Care, LLC & Gary White I had a horrendous and bizarre experience with Gary White and this business. I caution anyone dealing with them that they are not to be trusted to perform on their promises. On January 29, 2018, Gary White visited my property to estimate a renovation of my lawn that included ongoing mowing and maintenance. I paid an advance of $1200 against the $2200 cost. Weeks passed with no activity. Mr. White had told me some services would be performed in the 6 to 8 weeks remaining in the wet Spring season. No contact was made to me about the weather causing a delay. I heard nothing from Gary White. On March 22, I called him and was told that the lawn had been mowed, although I saw nothing to indicate this had been done. Mr. White told me my property was "top priority" and he would get to it within a few days. I emailed the business asking for specific details of when the lawn had been mowed and some dates that services would be performed. Mr. White did not provide a date for the claimed mowing and stated that mowing would start only after the renovation is completed. He stated, "We will have renovation complete by May 9th." By the third week in May I had mowed the lawn myself 7 times. Weather was no longer a factor! Mr. White had not contacted me except in response to my emails. I insisted on a written response to the emails, since I doubted his promises. I noticed that my lawn was mowed a few days after I had mowed it myself. On May 21, almost four months since the service order was signed and advance payment of more than half the total cost was made, I sent another email to the business, advising Mr. White that he should not enter my property unless he called me first. I requested a specification of services performed to date. In response, Mr. White called me to "discuss" things. I said I wanted a written response. On May 24th, Mr. White came to my property and I informed him that I was cancelling the service order and expected a full refund. He left in a huff. I followed up with an email detailing the cancellation and my reasons for it. 1.) The agreed upon services had not been performed. 2.) Little or no communication had been initiated by him to explain delays or lack of performance. 3.) My requests for a specification of services had gone unanswered. In response, Mr. White sent an email demanding payment for the "mowings" and "products purchased for your property." By this time I had no faith in Classic Grounds Care, LLC or the promises of Gary White. I sent an email stating that I would not pay for the unrequested mowing. I received no products and would not pay for anything he claimed to have purchased for me. Here this story takes a bizarre twist. In all my communication I was firm, but civil and respectful. At no time did I make any threats or use a harsh tone. I was flabbergasted when I got the following email from Mr. White, shown in "ALL CAPS" the way it was received on May 25, 2018: MR. STEVICK I HAVE SPOKEN TO KITSAP COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE CONCERNING YOUR THREATS AGAINST ME AND THE FACT I BELIEVE YOU ARE ACTING IN A VERY IRRATIONAL MANNER. AND IF YOU THREATEN ME FURTHER I WILL GO IN AND OBTAIN A NO CONTACT ORDER ON A TEMPORARY BASIS AND MY ATTORNEY WILL GO TO COURT TO OBTAIN A PERMANENT ORDER, WHICH HE TELLS ME WILL BE SERVED BY THE KITSAP SHERIFF'S OFFICE AT YOUR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. YOU HAVE BEEN CAUTIONED!! TO COMPLETE OUR BUSINESS I WILL FORWARD BY CERTIFIED CERTIFIED MAIL A REFUND IN FULL AND WRITE OFF THE LOSS. AGAIN DO NOT CONTACT ME THREATENING ME AND MY FAMILY ANY FURTHER. IF YOU CHOOSE TO CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE TO ME OUR ATTORNEY WILL TAKE FURTHER ACTION TO MITIGATE DAMAGES. THINK HARD BEFORE YOU MAKE MATTERS WORSE FOR YOURSELF. Yes, he actually sent that! This saga ended when Mr. White called me on the day I was preparing for Small Claims Court, and offered a refund. So I have been "made good," with my advance payment refunded, but I am rattled by the audacity of this man attempting to intimidate me with threats of embarrassing legal action based on concocted fabrications. If you ever do engage with this business or Gary White, do not pay anything in advance. Do not expect any communication from him unless you initiate it. If you are unhappy with their business performance, expect to be threatened and intimidated if you ask for a refund. Beware!!! I had Classic Grounds Care LLC do a full renovation of my lawn and replace all the sprinkler heads on my irrigation system. Service was very prompt and top notch. Gary kept me abreast of the work in progress and gave me written, detailed instructions on how to care for my "new" lawn. I recommended him to my friend/neighbor and he had his yard done too and will not hesitate to recommend him again. read more
