Had a combined birthday party here on November 4 of this year with 38 kids including babies. (Ages 1-11) Pros: -They helped set up/clean up -Coaches were friendly -Up to however many kids you wanted -Reasonable price for party Cons: -No real communication between owner Jenny and coaches (coach was unaware of size of party) -Lots of waiting around for instruction -no water break -kids were told to not go in foam pit -not organized The kids were kind of kept away from the foam pit. Almost like the foam pit was sacred space. There were 3 coaches but only 1 really giving instruction. So instead of 3 groups of kids it was just 1 big group. Lots of waiting around for instruction. They played hide and seek for most of the time. I had a few kids come tell me they wanted to play in the foam pit and use the foam pads but were denied. Also, no water breaks. The older kids told me after that they were denied water and told to wait until it was time to eat which was another 30 min later. I had great communication with Jenny up until after the party when I went to give her feedback. This is the text I sent her," Good morning Jenny, thank you for letting us have my kids birthday party at your gym. Just a few things before I forget. There was a lot of waiting around and definitely not enough free play. I understand it was a large group but this should have been thought through and organized to accommodate our group size. My deciding factor to come to this gym was the gym itself and half of the time the kids were waiting around for instruction and playing hide and seek. Also, there were no water breaks. We had a few kids who asked for a water and they were told to wait until it was time to eat, which didn't happen for another 30 min. All and in all most kids had a great time. Just wanted to give you feedback for future parties. Thanks again! " This place wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. I probably won't book a birthday here again. This gym is not very welcoming or inclusive. They have good equipment but very bad service. They are not body positive and make assumptions about their customers. We have been to this gym multiple times and they discriminate against us because we are cheerleaders. If you are a cheerleader DO NOT go to this gym!! read more

Where to begin? We had a birthday party this Sunday with 20 kids ages 4-6. Let me emphasize that we had 20 kids. When we arrived there was one disengaged coach there. She didn't greet us and continued to move mats on the floor. My daughter had to call out and ask if she was running the party. She looked over, said yes and kept doing her thing. When she decided to acknowledge us, she came over and didn't speak. My daughter introduced herself and while this coach did say hello her tone was flat and unwelcoming. It was clear by her body language and behavior that she did not want us there. She didn't recognize the birthday girl nor speak to her. She didn't smile for the entire two-hour event. She appeared to have no clue how to run a party and if she did, she no desire to run one for us. She not engage with the children nor keep them safe during the entire event. Other Major issues: 1. No itinerary-kids ran around the gym unsupervised for 40 min 2. Table Set up for 14 kids when we had 20 3. There was ONLY coach/employee in the entire gym for 20 kids 4. She didn't set ground rules nor state where the kids could go in the gym 5. She was on one side of the wall (gym floor and tumble track speared by a wall) and could not see the kids on the tumble track. Parents had to help as kids were jumping from the tumble track to the pit and landing on top of each other 6. She elected to help a kid do a back walkover as a 4 year old walked on the high beam unattended and the other kids jumped on mats too high to be safe and/or jumped into a unsupervised pit 7. Parents and grandparents had to step in to keep the children free from harm! At the start of the party The coach handed a clip board with waivers attached and said "pass it around". She then left and took the 5-kids who happened to right on time and NEVER bothered to check for waivers on the other kids as they arrived. It goes on and on and on. When we cleaned up and we're ready to go the little coach had the nerve to be upset that WE didn't get ALL families to sign the waivers. Let's be clear, my 16 y/o granddaughter was asking parents to sign the forms because I, the GRANDPARENT, felt that this should be done. Clearly not only were we expected to run our own party but to do the paperwork for the gym too! When my daughter went in today to complain, the owner had the racist KAREN nerve to say "it's because of you people...". WHAT?! If you are a person of color beware-in fact if you are "woke" in any way, shape or form don't go to CLASSIC GYMNASTICS. They are unsafe, not inclusive and in fact blatantly racist!!! I used to attend the adult open gym at Classic Gymnastics until I moved out of the area a few weeks ago. There are no other adult-friendly gymnastics facilities in Tracy, so I'll always appreciate Jenny for opening up her space to gymnasts over 18. The gym itself is great, with lots of squishy/bouncy surfaces to protect the joints. Before I moved, I even got up the courage to start working front layouts off the Tumbl Trak into the pit :) read more

Absolutely amazing!!! We love love classic gymnastics! My kids have so much fun and the instructors are amazing.

My daughter has enjoyed her class the past 6 months. She is in the preschool class. However, I do not feel comfortable having her do classes in a warehouse without an AC unit. I feel the children are at risk for heat stroke, as Tracy gets unbearably hot in the summer. Perhaps in the future you will consider adding an AC unit or do not use that room for classes. Other than this, my daughter enjoyed her class. read more

Karen: I brought my 3-1/2 y/o son for a trial class here yesterday. Rhonda, the Office Staff who helped me, was so accommodating and nice. I had a newborn with me and she immediately found me a chair to sit down on and park my stroller nearby. She introduced me to my son's teacher and left to get the forms that I'm supposed to fill out before the class. The place looked like a hard-core gymnastics training camp. There were students of all ages. My son immediately started to learn rolling and hanging on to the uneven bars. I can tell from the parents area where I was sitting that he was having tons of fun. It's nice to sit and watch the classes going on with different age groups. It gave the perspective of what my son will be capable of doing when he reaches their age. Rhonda explained all the rules and policies of the facility. She also talked about the tuition ($52/month) and the payment terms. She is very helpful. Suffice it to say, I signed him up for the Tiny Tumblers class after his 50 minutes trial ended. I'm looking forward to my son's future as a gymnast. read more

Extremely happy with this place, after leaving our last gymnastics in Salida, which we were there for 7 years. We were so happy to find this family friendly run gymnastics! They actually care about the well being of the children! I have 4 kids that attended and that all love this place. They coaches are amazing and pay close attention to detail. Our kids started at Classic Gymnastics last June (2013) through the City of Tracy's Recreational Dept. I have to admit that our initial experience with Classic was not a very good one. Upon arriving for their first class, NO ONE was there! We did get there about 5 - 10 minutes early but still, we were expecting SOMEONE to be there. Someone arrived who just unlocked the front door, shortly after office staff arrived. No coaches anywhere! The front office person ended up giving our kids an 'impromptu' first class which ended about 5 minutes early. The classes were held in the main gym - which for my younger children, paired with different coaches each class, probably wasn't the ideal learning atmosphere for them. But, they seemed to like it and we wanted to keep them involved in 'extra curricular' activities. At the end of our "City Session' we were informed that they would be opening another gym geared towards younger children in the same building complex with its own coaches. We were hesitant - we had concerns about the inconsistent manner in which the classes were held; different coaches, different start/ending times, class duration, not to mention the almost non-existent customer service for non-Classic Gym members. However, our kids really wanted to. So we signed up for another session (not through the city) with Classic. We are much happier with the classes now. The smaller gym provided a better environment for my younger children (then 3 and 5 years old). The equipment was at the appropriate height, the coach was able to interact with the children with no distractions from other classes being held around them. Even though they are only in a recreational class, there was a big improvement in the quality of coaching. Our kids absolutely love their coaches! (My son, now 4, has classes in the big gym with Coach Jacob while my daughter, now 6 is in the smaller gym with Coach Jade). And so do we! Both coaches are excellent with children and communicate well with the parents. They are firm yet encouraging. They make sure the kids do what they're supposed to be doing in class without helping too much or letting them just skip it. If any discipline is needed, they speak directly to the kids in a way/tone that is neither "sugary sweet" or too firm. They make sure the child understands what he/she is doing and how it affects the class. Aside from classes, Classic also has monthly Kids Night Out events that are actually pretty awesome! Parents get to drop their kids off at the gym for 3 1/2 hours. The kids have dinner and a great time and Mom & Dad get a date night! We also had our daughters' birthday party there, which turned out quite nicely. While we got off to a somewhat rocky start with Classic, we have been quite satisfied with the way things are currently going. This is largely due to Coach Jade and Coach Jacob. read more

Unfortunately we will not be going back to classic Gymnastics. We took several kids to enjoy the open gym last week . There was staff walking around and not helping to assist any of the students. The entire facility was filthy. There is large amounts ( extreme) of dust everywhere. I'm assuming because of the flip up door at the back of the warehouse. I understand the fresh air but the facility should be cleaned on a regular basis. There is a pit at the back where the foam was very dirty. I would not recommend to others. read more

To follow up on the air flow, or lack of it- the owner followed up by promising to put in a good fan, and I was pleased some action was taken and a small fan was put in the room temporarily. I am hoping to see a good fan placed because air is an essential during such exercises, especially when working with 3 year Olds (or any age really). That is the main reason for the 3 out of 5 rate, which was 2 out of 5 before. read more

Classic really left a sour taste in my mouth. over the two years we were there we observed the following things. There was limited seating to watch your children. When I say limited I mean only 10 -15 parents can sit while the rest must stand in very cramped quarters. Why is this a problem? Because Classic also has about 5 or 6 classes going at once so multiply that by six or soand that leaves at least roughly 20-30 parents and siblings left to stand in the mildew smelling 100+ temperatures of the gym. The seating itself is terrible. Old uncomfortable folding chairs. You would think with what they charge they could improve on that over the course of 2 years. I wish I could say more positive things about our experience but nothing comes to mind. They made it obvious that "if you don't like it leave".....so we did. read more

We pulled our child out of these classes after a month. The staff is extremely unprofessional, they have no patience at all and are very nice and sweet when you first join, but after that they don't have any concern for you as a client. We understand that they owner is running a business and needs to make money, but this cannot be their primary purpose when they are dealing with kids and their parents. Class times were changed without notice, calls were unanswered and voice mails not returned. If you ever need to speak with the person running the office or the owner, the treat you like you are bothering them and are always keeping them from doing something more important than you. I will give them one star because the actual coach and class instructor was pretty good, but cannot get past the owner and office staff. These people would be much better off if they were running a business where they didn't have to have daily contact with customers and provide customer service. read more

So far so good. It is only our 2nd time here, but it seems to be very clean and all of the staff are very nice and seem to have lots of patience with the kids. They give very easy directions that the kids are able to follow. My son LOVES going to Ninja Class!! I wish maybe they offered a special package or something if your child wanted to attend more class's on other days that are currently not filled. read more

My daughter switched to Classic Gymnastics after another gym in town abruptly closed. At first, our experience was great! When we remained at the rec level, our daughter was happy with the program as were we. After quite some time at the rec level, our daughter was invited to move up to team with no transition from rec to team. This was exciting for our daughter and although it was a significantly greater expense, we thought it would be great for her to be a part of a competitive team. During her first year on team, her performances at meets were a little underwhelming, but we chalked that up to her being so new to competitive gymnastics. Once the second season started, it was clear though that there was a little more at work than just inexperience. When almost the entire team of Classic girls consistently brought in the lowest scores at their first meet, I started to wonder if there was something lacking in the instruction my daughter was receiving at Classic that would explain why we seem so far behind. In an attempt to give the owner (who is also one of the Level 5 coaches) a chance to explain what was happening, my husband and I requested a meeting with the owner. During the meeting, the owner admitted that she chose to move our entire group of 8 girls up a level because she was afraid the parents would be upset if she kept them at Level 4. She did not ask or consult with the parents prior to making this decision, just chose to move them prematurely based on an assumption. The subsequent result was a that we were paying over $4000 a year to watch our daughter come in last place. When this started becoming upsetting to my daughter, I decided to send an e-mail to the owner to discuss my concerns further. Instead of meeting with myself and my husband in response to the e-mail, the owner cornered my daughter in her office and proceed to chastise her for some of the content of my e-mail. She also belittled and yelled at my daughter in practice, citing issues that I raised in my e-mail as her reason for being upset with my daughter. We were already thinking about researching other gyms, but no firm decisions had been made until this incident. We immediately withdrew our daughter from the program and are now going to find her another program to join where she is not afraid to go to practice. I only give this gym two stars because I believe if you are just looking for a recreational program for younger children, this can be a great place to go. Once you start reaching competitive level though, like us and many before us... you might want to consider looking elsewhere. NOTE: I composed this review some time ago without realizing it never posted. When I went to find it today, I decided to modify it down to one star from two because after today's incident, I have NOTHING nice to say about Classic. Shortly after inappropriately confronting my daughter at practice, Jenny Garay (owner and one of the Level 5 coaches) kicked two of the other girls on the team out and yelled at them in front of other parents and kids. She told the two girls that they were being kicked out of the gym due to their parents "bad behavior". The following day, after seeing two consecutive practices where children got yelled at and humiliated by Jenny, a fourth set of parents chose to remove their child from Classic as well. Myself and that fourth parent are both being asked to pay Jenny over $2000 for the remainder of our contract. This is DESPITE her despicable behavior toward children AND her sub-par coaching. Our daughters are now happily tucked away at a gym in Livermore. They are FINALLY getting decent coaching... and their scores have improved dramatically in just a few weeks time. Over half of the gymnasts in Livermore come from Classic and almost every one of them has a horror story from dealing with Jenny. If you listen to Jenny tell the story... she is the victim of bitter parents and untalented children. Please note, however, Jenny is producing gymnasts who come in last place, and our new gym is producing gymnasts who come in first. I think Jenny has failed to realize that the reason she continues to lose gymnasts once the parents wake up and smell the coffee is because SHE is the problem... not waves and waves of problematic parents and children as Jenny would have you believe. My daughter was taught incorrect turns and skills on floor and beam, and she was not provided with adequate strength training to help her do her skills properly on bars and vault. Jenny blamed my daughter claiming she was unmotivated and untalented (yes I have this in writing), yet my daughter is improving leaps and bounds under her new coaches. BUYER BEWARE!! Consider yourself adequately warned! Why would dozens of families drive all the way to Livermore for training three times a week if there was a decent program here in Tracy??? read more

Personally, I appreciate you and your coaches for the motivation and training you gave for the team all these months that lead to such excellent results. After I pondered about writing a review I am now thinking its best! I had BOTH my children in classic gymnastics. One was in the parent tot and the other in the tiny tots. The tiny tots was great but a little small and not really what I thought it would be. But my child didnt care for it as much as I thought he would. He wanted the "Bigger Gym" that was No longer available. My BIGGEST problem and concern.....The 2 -4 year old class.... My child has been doing so well in this class and he absolutely LOVES the coach!! She is so great with the kids and is very nice! Once winter came the warehouse had gotten EXTREMELY COLD!! Seems to be colder inside than outside! They have a Tiny heater that they have used but once they play the music they have to unplug it and then plug it in after. We have to wear our jackets and so do the kids! This is a gymnastics place And I totally get its a warehouse like, but for it to be FREEEEEZING cold is simply unacceptable! You can see your breath its really that cold!!! A couple of us went into the office and spoke to the owner who was not very welcoming or warming! We told her the issue and concern we had and her response was pretty much....If you dont like it then theres the door! She did not say those words BUT thats what she was saying. She said there wasnt anything they were going to do and didnt seem up to suggestions! She said if we wanted our payment to go up extremely high (as if it wasnt already) then sure.. why not but she still wasnt up for it. The other lady who is always soooo nice suggested we bundle up the kids and put hats and gloves and socks on! Thats a GREAT idea BUT im paying 60 bucks for us to have a fun learning experience in this gym and I shouldn't have to "BUNDLE" up my child. How is he suppose to Tumble all bundled up. In order for him to feel at all comfortable in this class, he would have to bundle up like the brother Randy on the movie a Christmas story! I mean it is Freeeeezin in there! Im not even exaggerating! If the owner had a better attitude I'd consider leaving for the winter and coming back when it is warmer! BUT since she was so rude and didnt seem to give a CRAP about the little 2-4 year olds freezing their little hands and feet off Im leaving. read more

Jenny, my daughter is going to be 12 years not 6 years old and is very responsible kid. My daughter didn't need to have a coach babysitter while she sat in the waiting area working on her homework for an hour. You say that due to insurance reasons you can't have children in the gym until their class starts. I saw parents sitting in the waiting area watching their children while siblings played inside the plastic tree house. I would be more concerned about the kids falling out of the plastic tree house or someone falling on all the toys scattered all over the place. Jenny, I did not say anything to you or your business representative when I gave my 30 day notice. You comment that I left Classic for another reason (didn't see on form area to fill in reason for leaving). Could your source of given you incorrect information? MY daughter has been going for almost a year now, All she wants to do is gymnastics I take her three times a day now and she still can not get enough of it, her Coach Elizabeth is Ah-mazing. she gets right down with kids and helps them out every step of the way. she also supper approachable she showed me ways that I can support my daughter at home so she can work on the hand stands and everything els she is lacking on. The front office is great the girls there are so helpful and nice every time I walk in they welcome my daughter and me. MY daughter just loves Robbin, shes is also so helpful she answers all my questions without a delay she also doesnt make it seem like she has better things to do that I am her number one customer. I love the Emails I get to keep up dated with class changes and events going around the Bay area and at the gym. with out the Emails I would not have been able to take my daughter to meet Shannon Miller. I mean OMG what a great role model for young kids I dont know of any better place where my daughter is fully supported and I know if she stays there she will do great. read more

My daughter has been attending Classic for about a 1 year 1/2. She absolutely adores her coaches! They really make it a fun and exciting place to work hard. The coaches take their time to help develop the skills needed to advance, and to make corrections if they are not doing it correctly. Class sizes are manageable where the coaches have time to coach and perfect and the kids have time to develop the skill. My daughter does gymnastics at home all the time and she is starting to "coach" her little sister on how to do forward rolls. I personally have not had any problems with the front office staff, and have actually found them helpful in answering questions I have had. Coaches are willing and able to tell you what your child is excelling at and what they need to work on. I have had a couple of times where the classes had to be switched to a different time. read more

Great place for recreational and competitive gymnastics. I find the coaches knowledgable, the gym friendly and welcoming. For those interested, Classic has several competitive levels and recently added Prep-optional into their repertoire. My daughter came from another gym as a competitive gymnasts and has now competed with Jenny for one full season. She will be starting her second season this year. She finds the gym fun and the competitive program both challenging and fun. read more

My daughter really likes gymnastics but because all the coaches would not correct her on stuff and never pay attention to her we pulled her out . Also the place was very dirty every time she would come back home she would have dust or pieces of foam in her hair. They would always do the same thing every class they never did anything different. She was there for over a year and never advanced/ move up, always in the same level. Until now Tracy did not have another option for gymnastics therefore I feel like the owners were taking their customers for granted. Since Royal Gymnastics opened a lot of us moved there, way better. read more

Huge facility and very clean. Friendly staff members with a positive attitude. My family member attends gymnastics here. I always enjoy attending the facility and watching all the cool techniques that are taught. Today I attended their open house celebrating 11 years. It was a fun experience with pizza and cake served to all and they opened up the facility free of charge to anyone wanting to come and play/celebrate with them. Our daughter has been going here for 2 years, since she was 3. Everywhere we go she does "gymnastics"! Home, swim class, park....you name it. SHE LOVES it and so do we. When she was 3 we were asked to drop her off for the holiday show practice, reluctantly we did. When we returned we learned she had a bit of a meltdown.
