The construction crew has been blocking both our and a neighbor's driveway whenever they please despite being told not to do so. They have thrown trash all over our property. They also had to remediate for asbestos and left many materials on the site where the next day heavy machinery was picking up the materials and causing a huge cloud of dust to blow all over our property, our cars and the yard where my pets play. Additionally, Evergreene has been parking blocking a fire hydrant and crosswalk which is illegal and dangerous to children crossing the street who cannot see oncoming traffic. Despite reaching out to Evergreene on these issues nothing has changed and it appears that we will have to turn to law enforcement to correct the danger Evergreene is causing. I also contacted Evergreene regarding a lot they had. It took six weeks for Evergreene to offer me an appointment, and they only did so once the lot was under contract. It is my opinion that the way Evergreene Homes has handled things has been dangerous, illegal and without regard to anyone around their projects. We have neighbors who also lived next door to one of their projects who were beside themselves over the construction and damage to their property and now have issues with the people who purchased that house. I would never recommend doing business with Evergreene Homes.

This is apparent in the construction quality of their homes and the poor customer service from contract to the conclusion of your one year warranty. Evergreene Homes used to build a nice home as noted by their subcontractors; however, based on the more recent construction of their homes and the cost cutting measures implemented that is no longer the case. It is also surprising that they send the majority of their architecture work to India to save on costs. The primary cost cutting measures noted are using an electric furnace in the upstairs when gas would be more efficient, poor quality windows as drapes sway on windy days due to air infiltration, inadequate insulating of rain showers heads in attics and plumbing lines on exterior walls, gutters/downspouts too small for the size of roofs they manage rain for, using flexible gas lines throughout their homes when black iron is superior and very common with their competitors, using plastic tubs in secondary bathrooms, lack of snow guards on metal roofs as a heavy snow fall will cause snow to slide down the metal roofs and rip the gutters off your home and damage landscaping, hanging drywall without the use of glue, not insulating plumbing drain pipes in the basement and first floor so it sounds like waste water is rushing through the pipes when a toilet is flushed on the second floor causing unpleasant noise, a vast amount of insects collecting on the inside of windows due to poor quality windows, dirty ductwork and furnaces with construction dust and debris due to the HVAC being started up too soon in the building process, lack of drain mat on the foundation walls which will improve storm water draining along the foundation wall, lack of mold resistant purple drywall in bathrooms, and finished flooring is not run under cabinets in bathrooms and kitchens, lack of PVC glue used on exterior cornice material joints as noted by the manufacturer, installing PVC exterior trim when material is uncared for and lying in mud, lack of using magnets instead of bullet catches on interior doors, using pine interior trim over poplar, installing poor quality flexible HVAC ducts instead of metal hard pipes, and not making wall mount garage door openers standard (they are quieter) when a living area is above the garage. The third party warranty is ridiculous as you should review the standards prior to contract! In addition, make sure you ask that the structural engineer of record certifies the house prior to wall insulation being installed.

Finally, I went into their Herndon location with the photo of a bright, modern bathroom I liked and within an hour I had most of the design and materials chosen. The next day they sent me an estimate. We tweaked a few things and they put us on the schedule. We really wanted a steam shower and knew that added to the cost but they had experience with steam showers. I could have tried to save money by driving around to different places to choose material and by finding and supervising all the workers on my own (I'm usually a DIY person) but I wanted a contractor who'd oversee everything and make it easy and efficient. We had the same workers every day and they showed up when they were supposed to. They took care of getting building permits and scheduling county inspectors. I'm picky about tilework and the guy did an excellent job with cutting 3 different styles of tile. You have to walk through our bedroom to get to the bath so they put up a big plastic tarp wall to minimize dirt and give us some privacy. They put down cloths in our hall every day to keep the floors clean. Everything was spotless when they finished. I'd read some negative reviews about communication before we started and I discussed this with them. The project manager came to check on the work every 4 days and discuss changes or concerns. Every change we requested was updated in the contract. Communication was excellent. It's been 6 months and I'm very happy with our gorgeous bathroom!

I was merging into the right lane with my turn signal on to make a turn into a grocery store, and the driver of their van who had a long grey beard aggressively sped up to block me from merging, almost ran my car off the road. As he passed, he was yelling at me through his window. I had my kids in the car. It was reckless, aggressive driving that put me and my kids in real danger. I was genuinely scared and kept distance from his car and passed the grocery store to not go near him. No one should have to worry about being intimidated or endangered by someone representing a professional business.

We recently had Schroeder replace our old sun porch with a 4-season room, and overall we are very…read morepleased with both the process and the end result. During the design phase, the architect, Jessica, was incredibly helpful and responsive to our questions and concerns. We also threw in a curveball only a couple of weeks before the planned start date when we asked them if they could add a basement room underneath the new room; the original plan had been to have just a crawl space. They rolled with it and amended the plans and permits in record time. When we had trouble coming up with how we wanted to use the new room, we met with Jessica again and she had a great suggestion that we ended up going with: make it our living room rather than a home office as we'd planned, and turn our existing living room into an office, with a wall and door added to create an entryway separating it from the front door. Despite all the last-minute changes, they started on schedule and completed the bulk of the work in about 3 months, including several unrelated add-ons we requested. There were some challenges along the way; for example, when they removed a set of sliding glass doors, the wall above them dropped a half-inch because the doors turned out to be load-bearing. But the end result is everything we hoped for and more. During the actual building process, the project manager came to our house often to check on progress, answer questions, etc. Towards the end, the company promptly addressed any issues we had. We are very happy with the work overall. The new living room and home office look amazing, and we now have an extra basement room. No company is perfect, however, so there were a few negatives. For instance, we had a minor flooding issue in the basement due to a hole made during the digging, and there was a painter who seemed to show up only when they felt like it. And we had some confusion over the financial side when we couldn't make a draw on our HELOC immediately due to the invoice being issued during the holidays when it was impossible to schedule the required inspection, and the Schroeder folks kept on calling us about it despite our telling them there wasn't much we could do to force the bank to release the funds given the timing. However, all of these issues were resolved, nothing was damaged by the water that got into the basement, and the project was completed on schedule. We tend to judge a company not on whether there are problems (because that's almost inevitable, especially with a large renovation project), but on how they handle such issues when they arise. Schroeder was responsive to our questions and concerns, and we would absolutely work with them again; in fact, we plan to hire them when we get to the next update we want to do in our home, probably in another couple of years.

We needed to move for work and had to leave the place we were renting before our lease was up. To avoid paying further rent, we needed to find a new tenant. After looking for a month, with only one showing while we were there, we needed to officially move. We wouldn't have anyone in the area to show the place to prospective tenants. We contacted Marc to assist us with showing the place. Marc happily accepted and did much more than simply show the place. He also marketed the place, worked with our difficult landlord to get important things done to improve the rent-ability of the apartment, and also providing regular communication of what was going on. This turned a painful process into a painless one. This was all happening as the coronavirus pandemic started. Marc still continued to provide excellent service, taking appropriate precautions, during the pandemic. (a time when some would have thrown in the towel) While we weren't lucky enough to find a tenant that would meet the high financial standards (750+ credit rating, and high income) of our prior landlord, the effort Marc put in was exceptional. Since we didn't find a tenant, he ended up doing this all for free! He deserves something in return as he is a pleasure to do business with, so I'm writing this review so that everyone can know what my experience was like and that I highly recommend him. What was supposed to be a simple two-bathroom renovation turned into an eight-month nightmare of shoddy workmanship, repeated mistakes, and endless delays caused by inexperienced, poorly managed crews. The basement bathroom had to be redone multiple times by different teams, each creating new issues to fix. Even after the company admitted to the problems and agreed to cancel the second bathroom, they dragged their feet for weeks, dodged questions about refunds, and even implied the leftover materials were our problem. When they finally agreed to pick them up, they had the nerve to charge us for their time -- all while ignoring the fact that materials meant for the unfinished second bathroom were used to redo the first one (yes, the same shower was tiled three times because of poor workmanship). Throughout the process, there was zero transparency -- constantly changing explanations, inconsistent numbers, and confusing or incomplete accounting. Getting a straight answer or a complete document required multiple follow-ups. And while they admitted more than once that the project had been mishandled, there was no accountability, no ownership, and no urgency to make things right. We started this project in good faith and with patience, but it became painfully clear that customer satisfaction and integrity are not values this company upholds. If you care about honesty, professionalism, and clear communication, look elsewhere. Hard pass.

The installation crew was quick, efficient, and friendly. However this week, we had a spring on one of the double-hung windows that allows raising/lowering the window. We thought no problem, HB or Provia would replace the spring under warranty...until we called HB. HB told us it would cost $150 for them to come out, if they didn't have the part(s) needed, it would cost another $150 for them to come back, the part would be covered. Seems way to high to replace a part we can buy for $8 and requires removing/replacing two screws. HB wouldn't even help by providing the part number. Now its become a pointing game, HB points at Provia and their supplier, the supplier only deals in wholesale, Provia points at HB. Given this current experience, I can't recommend any of the companies involved! Now, I can't even get a call back from the someone at HB that can resolve the situation!

They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. I'm more than happy to give advice and guidance on code matters or general best practices, even if you are hiring other people."
